Deformation-Induced Large Ductility of Super Saturated Solid Solution Fe-Cu Alloy  [PDF]

Abstract: The mechanical properties of super saturated solid solution Fe60Cu40 alloy has been investigated using compression test. The results show that the grain precipitation and phase transformation occurs during compressive deformation resulting in large work-hardening ability, high strength and large ductility. Our results demonstrate that this novel architecture offers a design pathway towards a new generation of strong materials with large ductility.

Abstract: 采用 X 射线衍射,电子衍射等方法,对不同成分的 Fe-Cu 二元混合物粉末经不同研磨时间的结构进行了测定、分析。结果表明,在高能球磨条件下,原本在固态下溶解度极低的 Fe-Cu 系列的溶解度大为提高,其面心立方结构一直可维持到60at.-%Fe。
Understanding atomic-scale phase separation of liquid Fe-Cu alloy

Abstract: Using liquid Fe60Cu40 alloy as a model, the structure of liquid Fe-Cu alloy systems is investigated in the temperature range 1200–2200 K, covering a large metastable undercooled regime, to understand the phase separation of liquid Fe-Cu alloys on the atomic scale. The total pair distribution functions (PDFs) indicate that liquid Fe60Cu40 alloy is ordered in the short range and disordered in the long range. If the atom types are ignored, the total atom number densities and PDFs demonstrate that the atoms are distributed homogenously in the liquid alloy. However, the segregation of Fe and Cu atoms is very obvious with decreasing temperature. The partial PDFs and coordination numbers show that the Cu and Fe atoms are not apt to get together on the atomic scale at low temperatures; this will lead to large fluctuations and phase separation in liquid Fe-Cu alloy.

Influence of Al addition on the thermal stability and mechanical properties of Fe76.5-xCu1Si13.5b9Alx amorphous alloys

Abstract: This paper fabricated Fe76.5-xCu1Si13.5B9Alx (x=0,1,2,3,5,7 at.%) amorphous ribbons using singleroller melt-spinning method. The effect of Al content on the thermal stability and mechanical properties was investigated. The results indicated that Al addition have little effect on the amorphous formation ability of the alloys. On the other hand, increasing the Al content can substantially increase Tx2, which corresponds to the crystallization of Fe borides. Nanoindentation tests indicated that hardness of the alloys increase slightly with increasing the Al content, and Young’s modulus has a complicated relationship with the Al content.

Abstract: in fe-cu alloys prepared by pulsed electrodeposition, fe clusters form directly within a non-magnetic cu matrix. the clusters contain around 140 fe atoms and are superparamagnetic at room temperature. below 160 k, it is proposed that the clusters order into a so-called superferromagnetic arrangement. this behaviour is ascribed to the persistence of weak exchange interactions mediated by isolated fe atoms dispersed within the non-magnetic cu matrix.

Abstract: diamond wires are cutting tools used in the slabbing of ornamental stones, such as marbles and granites, as well as in the cutting of concrete structures. this kind of tool consists of an aisi 316 stainless cable on which annular diamond segments (beads) are set up with a regular gap between them. normally, diamond wire beads are processed following powder metallurgy techniques (mp), which enables the processing of composites with metal matrix diamond embbedded. the beads of the present work, had been produced by conventional powder metallurgy, using fe-20wt%cu alloy with addition of 1wt% of sic as the matrix metallic bond. it was carried out shrinkage/swelling and microstructural analyses after sintering, brinell hardness measurements, as well as the abrasion resistance of beads produced here in confrontation with that imported ones. the results indicate that it was achieved, besides generating technology in terms of diamond tools manufacture, to process beads with similar abrasion resistance and performance than those of the commercial diamond beads, what suggests a reduction in the production cost and it proves to be possible the nationalization of such technology.

Abstract: 利用磁控溅射技术制备了Fe含量(质量分数,%)分别为25和50的两种Fe-Cu纳米涂层,并研究了该涂层在700与800℃空气中的氧化,结果表明,Fe-75Cu涂层氧化后形成了外层为氧化铜和内侧为氧化铁的复合氧化膜,而Fe-50Cu发生了Fe的单一外氧化,其氧化特征均有别于同成分的铸态合金,这种氧化机制在于晶粒尺寸细化显著扩展了Fe在Cu中的溶解度,同时大量的晶界也为组元扩散提供了短路通道
