Favio Vallejo
Revista Sigma , 2008,
Abstract: In this article deals with the work of French mathematician Ren′e Baire and some historical aspects relevant to consider that led to the realm of theory functions as a branch formal mathematics. Will also discuss the concept of semicontinuity, which was instrumental in the development of Baire theory and is regarded as one of the most important concepts of analysis. Finally exhibit obtaining a continuous function "exotic" which is presumed, is di erentiable at best, in a nite number of points within a narrow range.
LA VIOLENCIA COMO PROBLEMA DE SALUD PúBLICA EN COLOMBIA: OTRO CAMPO PARA LA BIOéTICA
Rivas M,Favio;
Acta bioethica , 2000, DOI: 10.4067/S1726-569X2000000200011
Abstract: violence is still on the increase even though the world is no longer divided. with the fall of the berlin wall most of us were expecting the end of wars, something that never happened. on the other hand, internal conflicts in the third world have become more and more frequent. today, homicide is the first cause of death in colombia, being men aged from 15 to 44 the principal victims. violence is the major public health problem in colombia nowadays. it is impossible to understand this issue from a unique point of view. to address this problem, as it occurs with bioethics, inter-disciplinary actions must be taken. it is a phenomenon related to distributive justice and the autonomy of men and nation's, in a context where the intention to inflict harm (maleficence) prevails. there exist, therefore, an enormous domain for bioethics, especially for those of us who deem necessary to remove it from its clinical atmosphere in order to collaborate in the searching for solutions to the urgent problems this side of the world is facing
?ENFERMEDADES DE MINORíAS?
Rivas Mu?oz,Favio;
Acta bioethica , 2010, DOI: 10.4067/S1726-569X2010000200009
Abstract: pandemic recent threats have uncover that, even being more difficult and unknown, the problems that risk health at international level can be controlled quickly and effectively, that is, having little technical and scientific development, human resources or money are not an obstacle to give an appropriate response. lastly, the key of success in this matter is not found in techniques or science and the basic reason for global unequal health scene perhaps is found in the exclusion of populations considered simply unnecessary from the market and its regulations perspective, or also pointed out as guilty of their maladies because of their own culture. the present study tries to show that public health is a matter of business more than science, politics or ethics.
Lo Que Einstein le Hubiera Dicho a Aristóteles a Propósito de la Dinámica y la Cosmología
CALA VITERY,FAVIO ERNESTO;
Ideas y Valores , 2010,
Abstract: this paper proposes a parallel in the forms of aristotle's and einstein's physics. it's an exercise on conceptual analysis rather than history. the possible similarity between aristotle's world and the form (global geometry) of einstein's universe is discussed. the correlation between kinematics, dynamics and gravity in their respective theories is also studied. finally, aristotle's ontology of space is compared to the relativistic ontology spacetime.
LA IDENTIDAD DE LAS PARTES DEL ESPACIO Y EL PROBLEMA DE LA INERCIA
Cala Vitery,Favio Ernesto;
Praxis Filosófica , 2006,
Abstract: is space an entity in its own right or is it just a set of relations among coexisting material bodies? leibniz and newton argued along this line questioning the ontological status of physical space. while leibniz was able to question the identity of the constituent points of space, newton loaded relationism with the problem of inertia. the importance of inertial structure in this debate was recognized by mach. his criticism of newtonian absolute space became einstein's relational credo. in this article, following the relevant participants of the debate, it is shown that the issue about the identity of the constituent points (parts) of space is practically irrelevant compared with the problem of the origin of inertial structure. conveniently, i include a brief presentation of the neo-newtonian account of classical dynamics.
Vitery, Favio Ernesto Cala;
Scientiae Studia , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S1678-31662006000200002
Abstract: in its final form, newton's optics closes its third book with 31 queries. the last one - the most extensive - is intended, among other things, to picture a universe submited to several forces. in this way, the success achieved by introducing a force acting at distance between material bodies such as universal gravitation was projected to be extended to the general set of phenomena delimited by natural philosophy. it is argued that the difficulty of this enterprise is justified by the premature condition shared by the new experimental or baconian sciences that, unlike principia's dynamics, would resist a rapid mathematical formalism following the newtonian style. this is: the mediation of a force acting at distance as the key for the general synthesis of natural phenomena. a glance at newton's query 31 allows us to follow him in his intention to investigate and to install an unifying program of the possible forces of nature.
DE HENSLOW A HOOKER: DARWIN Y LOS INICIOS DEL PENSAMIENTO EVOLUTIVO EN BOTáNICA
Gonzalez Garavito Favio Antonio
DISEASES OF MINORITIES?
Favio Rivas Mu?oz
Acta Bioethica , 2010,
Hugo Favio Vengoa.
Historia Crítica , 2002,
Abstract: The main objective of this article is to try to explain the concept of globalization. In the first part, some of the difficulties encountered in trying to explain the globalization phenomenon in an integral way are described. The author then analyzes various concepts that are referenced in the content of the globalization concept as a whole, such as: process, capitalism, market, time, space, state, directionality. Lastly, he defines globalization as a temporalized interpenetrating network and shows how this does not constitute a fatality but rather something that can be turned into an opportunity to propitiate the development of the nations of the South.
