THE PRODUCTION AND CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SLOSHING ELECTRONS IN A MAGNETIC MIRROR

Abstract: The experiment on the formation of sloshing electrons by electron cyclotron resonance heating in a magnetic mirror is described, and the physical properties of them are investigated. The results show that (1) the sloshing electron configuration is formed, and its characteristics are very different from those of the hot electron ring; (2) Rn, the hot electron density ratio which represents the sloshing electron configuration, decreases as the mirror magnetic field increases, and the maximum of Rn can reach about 2.65.

Abstract: 对电子回旋共振加热(ECRH)产生晃荡电子形成串级磁镜热垒的物理过程进行了Fokker-Planck动力学计算,计算表明:(1)在一定条件下,晃荡电子等离子体位形形成,其密度比neh(Zr)/neh(O)=2.15,且形成了ΔΦ=16.5V的静电势阱;(2)静电势阱的建立分为迅速建立、逐渐减少和稳定平衡三个阶段,这是ECRH、碰撞散射和俘获离子共同作用的结果
Relativistic density functional investigation of UX6 (X= F, Cl, Br and I)

Abstract: The molecular structures and the vibrational frequencies of uranium hexahalides UX_{6 } (x=F, Cl, Br and I) molecules are investigated by using local density approximation (LDA) and generalised gradient approximation (GGA) functions (BP, BLYP and RPBE) in combination with two different relativistic methods (scalar and scalar+spin--orbit relativistic effects). The calculated results show that the differences are trivial between scalar and scalar+spin--orbit relativistic methods. The vibrational frequencies are also compared with existing experimental values, and overall, the RPBE approach gives the smallest error. The bond dissociation energies (BDEs) of UX6 are computed by using the RPBE function, thereby obtaining exact vibrational frequencies. In addition, the calculated magnitudes of the spin--orbit effect on the BDE of UX_{6 } (x=F, Cl, Br, and I) are found to be approximately --0.3198, --0.3218, --0.3609 and --0.4415~eV, respectively.

Abstract: The feasibility of using ECRH to produce sloshing electrons and to form tandem mirror thermal barrier is experimentally studied, and the measurement of plasma potential is presented. Results show that production of sloshing electrons to form thermal barrier by ECRH, is successful.

Abstract: AlxGa1-xAs Auger sensitivity factors have been determined by using PHI 610 scanning Auger microprobe with pure elemental standards Al, Ag and matrix GaAs. The quantitative results of AlxGa1-xAs measured by the present method are in very good agreement with that by X-ray double crystal measurement. It is shown that by using sensitivity factors obtained from the self-instrument, the accuracy of the quantitative AES analysis can be considerably improved compared with that using elemental relative sensitivity factors given by the PHI handbook or internal standard method.

Abstract: 在本顶研究中,我们探讨了大气CO2加倍和气候变化条件下,中国陆地生态系统的结构与功能的变化。与多数研究不同的是,我们耦合了两个以地理空间为参照的生态系统模型,即生物地理模型(KBIOME)和生物地球化学模型(TEM),用此研究现状和未来的环境下,中国的植被分布和年净初级生产力(NPP)的状况,我们采用3个大气环流模型,(GFDL-Q,GISS和OSU)预测的结果代表潜在气候变化。3个气候模型的预测都煌中国将变得更温暖并总体上更湿润。耦合的模型预测中国陆地生态系统的结构与功能都将产生十分显著的变化。植被的变迁表现为:1)中国东部森林带北移,温带常绿阔叶林面积扩大,较南的森林取代较北的类型;2)森林和草地的总面积增加,这是作为取代干旱藻木林、沙漠和高山苔原的结果。年净初级生产力在大气CO2加倍和气候变化条件下,增加30%左右,与其它研究不同的另一点是,我们可能进一步区分生产力变化的原因,在所增加的生产力中,12%-21%是源于生态系统的取代较低产的生态系统的结果。这项研究预测了未来中国植被和生产力潜在的变化并给出了变化的范围,为同类的研究以及有关的政策评估提供了有用的参考信息。
A GROUNDED THEORY STUDY ON THE BUSINESS MODEL STRUCTURE OF GOOGLE

Abstract: Business is a system. When business is perceived as a system, business model could became a system configuration issue and designable. Business models are the creations of entrepreneurs or scholars of business schools. How to quickly design of new business model has become an important issue. If the academia can propose methodology about business model design principle, then practitioners or entrepreneurs are able to create their new business without burning huge money to try-and-error. One of the important issues for business model design is to understand the business model structure of a firm. The purpose of this research is to propose a new systematical method for identifying a specific company’s business model structure. We chose Google as our case to demonstrate our new systematical method. Google has run an innovative business model that is very different to traditional business model and thus Google is a case worth to investigate. Grounded theory qualitative research method with causal map, cognitive mapping, core element analysis, and social network analysis were imported to analyze various data of Google from 1996 to 2008 when businesses migrated from telephone age to network age but not yet to fully mobile age. By deeply exploring Google’s business model structure, we understood how Google do business from the perspectives of business system. This comprehensive would give researchers the industrial insights and contribute the practitioners with the way of understanding the business model structure of a company along with the business model design principle in a dynamic context. Once a company understands its business model structure, the company could design its business model to face the future challenges.
INVESTIGATION OF LaAlO3 CRYSTAL STRUCTURE

Abstract: X-ray diffraction, neutron scattering and thermal analysis were used to determine the room temperature crystal structure of LaAlO3 and its phase transition. Two different models were calculated and compared. Tht space group of room temperature LaAlO3 is determined as R3C (a= 5.3648 ± 2?, c = 13.1113±3?). The influence of orientation of AlO6 octahedron or room temperature LaAlO3 crystal on the phase transition was studied.
PASSIVATION OF THE InP(100) SURFACE USING (NH4)2Sx

Abstract: InP(100) surface treated with (NH4)2Sx has been investigated by using photolumines-cence(PL), Auger electron spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, It is found that PL intensity increased by a factor of 3.3 after (NH4)2Sx passivation and the sulfur remained on the surface only bonded to indium, not to phosphorus. This suggests that the sulfur atoms replace the phosphorus atoms on the surface and occupy the phosphorus vacancies.
