Discussion of Function of Church and State in Public Education in the U.S.  [PDF]
Fang Wang
Open Journal of Social Sciences (JSS) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/jss.2014.29047
Abstract: Religion in relation to public education has been a topic of keen interest in the U.S. It has two components: one deals with the theme of religious content in the curriculum and the other concerns fringe benefits to nonpublic schools. And, where the State stands, the decisions and measures made by the U.S. Supreme Court concern religious matters in public schools.
A Model of Translation of Politeness Based on Relevance Theory  [PDF]
Fang Wang
Open Journal of Social Sciences (JSS) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/jss.2014.29045
Abstract: Sperber and Wilson developed the Relevance Theory of communication. It did not take long before it was applied to translation. This dissertation attempts to illustrate the model of the translation of politeness. Translation is a cross-linguistic sociocultural practice, in which a text in one language is replaced by a text with equivalent relevance degree in another. The original contains three variables, which, once summed, give the weightiness of the face-threatening act and the choice of stimulus is decided.
An Eco-Translatology Approach to the English Translation of Chinese Internet Catchwords  [PDF]
Fang Wang
Open Journal of Social Sciences (JSS) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/jss.2014.210007
Abstract: In this article, qualitative analysis is adopted. Data of internet catchwords are chosen from those popular in recent five years. The thesis aims at throwing lights on further studies of the English translation of Chinese internet catchwords and promoting the worldwide transmission of Chinese internet catchwords and internet culture. It is hoped that the dissertation could provide a new perspective for the study of internet catchwords.
A Discussion of Administration of Local Public Schools in U.S.  [PDF]
Fang Wang
Open Journal of Social Sciences (JSS) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/jss.2014.211028
Abstract: The enriched lifestyle enjoyed by U.S. citizens is a result of free public education. Education has gradually evolved into a very complex process because of the expectations of the American people and because of technological advances. Thus, effective education can occur only within an organization that is capable of analyzing the needs of future generations and that is capable of creating delivery systems that will meet the needs. In this article, the author explored the nature of public school districts and public school management in primary schools and secondary schools in U.S. to shed light on the pros and cons of the educational system.
The Biological and Social Determination of Man’s Psychic Development  [PDF]
Fang Wang
Open Journal of Social Sciences (JSS) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/jss.2014.212011
Abstract: Throughout the history of education research, certain views were expressed which considered that the main determining force in an individual’s personality development was the biological factor. On the other hand, there were other experts who underestimated the biological factor and concentrated on the social factor. The struggle between these contradictory views was of long duration. In this article, the author tries to discuss about both the biological determination of personality development and the training of man, and the influence of the social environment on personality development and the training of man.
Study on Formation Mechanism of Defects in Monoclinic KLu(WO4)2 Crystals  [PDF]
Kunpeng Wang, Jinzhi Fang
Materials Sciences and Applications (MSA) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/msa.2011.26086
Abstract: The laser host crystals of KLu(WO4)2(KLuW) with large sizes up to 43 × 35 × 16 mm3 have been grown along, [110], b, and c crystallographic directions, respectively, by the top-seeded solution growth (TSSG) slow-cooling method. The macro defects are observed using optical microscopy. The main defects found were cracks, inclusions, growth striations, sector boundaries and twin boundaries. The formation mechanism and approaches to reduce or eliminate the defects have been analyzed.
Some Steiner Symmetry Results in Overdetermined Boundary Value Problem  [PDF]
Zhongbo Fang, Anna Wang
Advances in Pure Mathematics (APM) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/apm.2011.16061
Abstract: In this paper, we use the moving planes method to prove that the domain Ω and the solution u are Steiner symmetric if u is a positive solution of the overdetermined boundary value problem in Ω.
Some Symmetry Results for the A-Laplacian Equation via the Moving Planes Method  [PDF]
Zhongbo Fang, Anna Wang
Advances in Pure Mathematics (APM) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/apm.2012.26053
Abstract: In this paper, we are concerned with a positive solution of the non-homogeneous A-Laplacian equation in an open bounded connected domain. We use moving planes method to prove that the domain is a ball and the solution is radially symmetric.
ESMD Method for Frequency Distribution of Tank Surface Temperature under Wind Effect  [PDF]
Jinliang Wang, Xianshui Fang
International Journal of Geosciences (IJG) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/ijg.2015.65038
Abstract: Due to the poor understanding of the small-scale processes at the air-water interface, some lab experiments are done in a water tank by infrared techniques. With the help of ESMD method, the stochastic temperature sequences extracted from the infrared photographs are decomposed into several empirical modes of general periodic forms. The corresponding analyses on the modes reveal that, within certain limits, both spatial and temporal frequencies increase along the wind speed. As for the amplitudes, the existence of wind may result in fold increasing of their values. In addition, when the wind speed is added from 4 m/s to 5 m/s, both frequency and amplitude of the surface temperature decrease and it implies an enhanced mixing and a weakened temperature gradient under the force of wind blowing.
Research on Certification Standards of LSQ  [PDF]
Fang Wang, Yangyang Hu
American Journal of Industrial and Business Management (AJIBM) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/ajibm.2016.68086
Abstract: With the rapid development of the logistics industry, improving the logistics service quality (LSQ) has become the most important means to achieve the competitive advantage for many logistics enterprises. At the same time, as the international prevailing evaluation system, certifications not only are the basic means of quality management, but also the tools to promote the development of trade facilitation. This paper analyzes the connotation of LSQ, and puts forward that for promoting the development of logistics industry and improving customer satisfaction rate, the quality of logistics service should also be certified. Based on the analysis of a large number of literatures and practice, the paper puts forward the construction of LSQ certification standards. Through the analysis, it is concluded that the LSQ plays an important role in regulating the logistics market, improving the competitiveness of enterprises, improving the customer satisfaction rate and avoiding risks.
