Atomic Scale Investigation of Dye Sensitized Solar Cells_Interface Structure and Dynamics

Abstract: Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSC), built upon organic/inorganic hybrid materials, are promising third generation solar cells, which attract wide attentions due to their low-cost, flexibility and environment-friendly properties. We review recent progresses in DSC research, focusing on atomic-scale investigations of the interface electronic structures and dynamical processes, including dye adsorption structure onto TiO2, ultrafast electron injection, hot-electron injection, multiple-exciton generation and electron-hole recombination. We briefly summarize advanced experimental techniques and theoretical approaches investigating these interface electronic properties and dynamics, and then introduce progressive achievements in the photovoltaic device optimization based on insights obtained from atomic scale investigations. Finally, some challenges and opportunities for further improvement of dye solar cells are presented.

Abstract: Transformation induced plasticity (TRIP) and twinning induced plasticity (TWlP) effects had been widely studied in single austenite steel. But in duplex γ & α(δ) phase, such as welding materials of stainless steel, they had been less studied. Tensile shear loading experiment of resistance spot welding specimens prepared with 2 mm 301L sheets, was carried out at 15℃ and -50℃. Optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) as well as X-ray diffraction (XRD) were used to investigate the microstructure of weld nugget, and specimens fracture surface. The results showed that the initial weld nugget was composed of 8.4% α(δ) ferrite and 91.6% austenite. Tensile shear load bearing capacity of spot welding specimen at -50℃ was 24.8 kN, 17.7% higher than that at 15℃. About 78.5 vol. pct. martensite transformation was induced by plastic deformation at -50℃, while about 67.9 vol. pct transformation induced at 15℃. The plasticity of spot welding joint decreased with the decline of experimental temperature.
Suppression of the Néel temperature in hydrothermally synthesized alpha-Fe2O3 nanoparticles

Abstract: Magnetic measurements up to 1000 K have been performed on hydrothermally synthesized $\alpha$-Fe$_{2}$O$_{3}$ nanoparticles (60 nm) using a Quantum Design vibrating sample magnetometer. A high vacuum environment (1$\times$10$^{-5}$ torr) during the magnetic measurement up to 1000 K leads to a complete reduction of $\alpha$-Fe$_{2}$O$_{3}$ to Fe$_{3}$O$_{4}$. This precludes the determination of the N\'eel temperature for the $\alpha$-Fe$_{2}$O$_{3}$ nanoparticles. In contrast, coating $\alpha$-Fe$_{2}$O$_{3}$ nanoparticles with SiO$_{2}$ stabilizes the $\alpha$-Fe$_{2}$O$_{3}$ phase up to 930 K, which allows us to determine the N\'eel temperature of the $\alpha$-Fe$_{2}$O$_{3}$ nanoparticles for the first time. The N\'eel temperature of the 60-nm $\alpha$-Fe$_{2}$O$_{3}$ nanoparticles is found to be 945 K, about 15 K below the bulk value. The small reduction of the N\'eel temperature of the $\alpha$-Fe$_{2}$O$_{3}$ nanoparticles is consistent with a finite-size scaling theory. Our current results also show that coating nanoparticles with SiO$_{2}$ can effectively protect nanoparticles from oxidation or reduction, which is important to technological applications.

Abstract:

Under today’s market environment, the brand is an important intangible asset to enterprises. If the brandiscertain to win in the market, the first condition is to establish a good image of integrity and makesit firmly rooted in the minds of consumers. In recent years, a spate of food brands lacking of integrity events shocked the nation and the world which make people’s health, and economic development under serious threat. How to evaluate the integrity of the food brands, find out the reason for lacking of integrity and provide a reference to the integrity system construction of food brand enterprises are the main content of this paper. This paper is based on the Creeds of Business Governance in Oriental Management theory and builds integrity indicator system according to the four ethics—honesty, trustworthiness, justice and benevolence. AHP is utilized to calculate the index weight to make the integrity evaluation system with scientific and operability.

Computational Simulations to Predict Creatine Kinase-Associated Factors: Protein-Protein Interaction Studies of Brain and Muscle Types of Creatine Kinases

Abstract: Creatine kinase (CK; EC 2.7.3.2) is related to several skin diseases such as psoriasis and dermatomyositis. CK is important in skin energy homeostasis because it catalyzes the reversible transfer of a phosphoryl group from MgATP to creatine. In this study, we predicted CK binding proteins via the use of bioinformatic tools such as protein-protein interaction (PPI) mappings and suggest the putative hub proteins for CK interactions. We obtained 123 proteins for brain type CK and 85 proteins for muscle type CK in the interaction networks. Among them, several hub proteins such as NFKB1, FHL2, MYOC, and ASB9 were predicted. Determination of the binding factors of CK can further promote our understanding of the roles of CK in physiological conditions. 1. Introduction Creatine kinase (CK) (ATP: creatine kinase N-phosphotransferase, EC 2.7.3.2) is thought to be crucial for intracellular transport and the storage of high energy phosphate because it catalyzes the reversible transfer of a phosphoryl group from MgATP to creatine, which leads to the creation of phosphocreatine and MgADP [1]. CK plays an important role in the cellular energy metabolism of vertebrates, and it is widely distributed in tissues that require a lot of energy [2]. Several types of CK are expressed in various tissues: the muscle and brain types of CK are the most common, and three different isoenzymes that include CK-MM (the muscle type homodimer), CK-BB (the brain type homodimer), and CK-MB (the muscle plus brain type heterodimer) originate from these two common types. CK is an important serum marker for myocardial infarction. Various types of CKs (the muscle, brain, and mitochondrial types) are thought to be important not only in the diagnosis of myocardial infarction, cardiac hypertrophy, and muscular dystrophy but also for studies of some other serious diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson's disease, and psoriasis [3–8]. CK-BB is associated with several pathologies, including neurodegenerative and age-related diseases. Recently, Chang et al. [9] reported an important role for CK-BB in osteoclast-mediated bone resorption, which was found using a proteomics approach. They found that CK-BB is greatly increased during osteoclastogenesis and suggested that it represents a potential target for antiresorptive drug development. CK-BB interacts with the potassium-chloride cotransporter 3, which is involved in the pathophysiology of hereditary motor and sensory neuropathy with agenesis of the corpus callosum [10]. Abstract: Litterfall is a structurally and functionally important component of agroforestry ecosystems and plays an essential role in supplying organic matter and nutrient for the soil and sustaining nutrient cycle in vegetation-soil system.Amount, composition and seasonal dynamics of litterfall were investigated in the poplar-crop agroforestry systems with different years of poplar plantation (4, 9, and 12 years)in Henan Eastern Plain.The results showed that annual litterfall was 11.18, 12.86 and 13.75 t·hm-2 in the three years agroforestry systems, respectively, with a similar seasonal change pattern in the order autumn > winter > summer > spring. Two monthly peaks of litterfall was found in August and in November in the three systems, respectively.. The present study provides important basis and scientific reference for further research on nutrient biogeochemical cycling, CO2 flux and carbon sequestration in agroforesty ecosystems.
Traveling wave solutions for two nonlinear evolution equations with nonlinear terms of any order

Abstract: In this paper, based on the known first integral method and the Riccati sub-ordinary differential equation (ODE) method, we try to seek the exact solutions of the general Gardner equation and the general Benjamin-Bona-Mahoney equation. As a result, some traveling wave solutions for the two nonlinear equations are established successfully. Also we make a comparison between the two methods. It turns out that the Riccati sub-ODE method is more effective than the first integral method in handling the proposed problems, and more general solutions are constructed by the Riccati sub-ODE method.
