Correlation between General Health with Emotional Intelligence and Creativity in Medical College Students at Islamic Azad University, Sari Branch, Sari, Iran

Abstract: Background and Objectives: Medical students are a particular class of students that Because of their specific problems, investigation of their general health has always been considered. This study is concerned with investigation of relationship between general health and emotional intelligence and creativity in medical college students at Islamic Azad University, Sari branch. Methods: 150 medical college students at Islamic Azad University, Sari branch (45 males and 105 females), were randomly selected and Goldberg general health, Shring emotional intelligence and Abedi creativity questionnaire were completed. For data analysis, Pearson correlation and independent t-test were used. Results: Results showed that: there is positive relationship between general health and emotional intelligence (r=0.53 and p<0.05), there is a positive relationship between general health and creativity (r=0.60 and p<0.01), and female college students are healthier than males (p<0.05). Conclusion: results of this research indicated that there is a positive relationship between general health and emotional intelligence and creativity, and since these variables are effective in professional prospect of Medical students, employing cognitive and behavioral methods in promotion of general health in these students seem necessary.
The Relationship between Gender and Iranian EFL Learners’ Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety (FLCA)

Abstract: Foreign language anxiety is widely used to describe the feeling of tension and apprehension, which is specifically associated with foreign language learning contexts, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Foreign language classroom anxiety (FLCA) is related to foreign language anxiety and language-skill-specific anxiety, and fairly recently identified as distinguished from other forms of anxiety. FLCA is a more general type of anxiety in learning a foreign language with a strong speaking anxiety element; and low self-confidence is identified as an important component of its construct. Research shows that FLCA is a complex, multi-dimensional phenomenon; it has many potential sources; and it interferes with the acquisition, retention, and production of a foreign language. It seems that in most of English classes in Iran little attention has been paid to the role of the gender on EFL learners' Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety (FLCA). Hence, this study attempted to investigate the relationship between EFL learners’ Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety (FLCA) with regard to gender. The data were gathered through questionnaire: the Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (Horwitz, Horwitz, & Cope, 1986).The participants were 52 students studying English at Salmas University. The findings revealed a significant relationship between FLCA and females. It was recommended that foreign language teachers should be aware of Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety (FLCA) level, its causes and results. The study also offers some context-specific pedagogical implications for Iranian EFL teachers and practitioners.
Exploring the Gender Effect on Iranian University Learners’ Beliefs to learn English

Abstract: This study investigated the relationship between beliefs about language learning and gender. The data for this study was collected from 90 Salmas Azad University students. Data analysis has been done with statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) software. The final result of this study shows that there is no significant effect of gender on Iranian university learners' beliefs to learn English. The result of this study can help teachers to build a supportive learning environment, to initiate students' interest, and to enhance their learning. Such learners generally lack learning interest and have lower proficiency; therefore it is necessary for teachers to use appropriate strategies to cultivate students' interest.
Impact of Mobility on Delay-Throughput Performance in Multi-Service Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks  [PDF]

Abstract: Mobile Ad-Hoc network is a collection of mobile nodes in communication without using infrastructure. Despite the importance of type of the exchanged data between the knots on the QoS of the MANETs, the mul-tiservice data were not treated by the larger number of previous researches. In this paper we propose an adaptive method which gives the best performances in terms of delay and throughput. We have studied the impact, respectively, of mobility models and the density of nodes on the performances (End-to-End Delay, Throughput and Packet Delivery ratio) of routing protocol (On-Demand Distance Vector) AODV by using in the first a multiservice VBR (MPEG-4) and secondly the Constant Bit Rate (CBR) traffic. Finally we com-pare the performance on both cases. Experimentally, we considered the three mobility models as follows Random Waypoint, Random Direction and Mobgen Steady-State. The experimental results illustrate that the behavior of AODV change according to the model and the used traffics.

Abstract: Cluster-based architectures are one of the most practical solutions in order to cope with the requirements of large-scale wireless sensor networks (WSN). Cluster-head election problem is one of the basic QoS requirements of WSNs, yet this problem has not been sufficiently explored in the context of cluster-based sensor networks. Specifically, it is not known how to select the best candidates for the cluster head roles. In this paper, we investigate the cluster head election problem, specifically concentrating on applications where the energy of full network is the main requirement, and we propose a new approach to exploit efficiently the network energy, by reducing the energy consumed for cluster forming.
Studying Some Physicochemical Characteristics of Crust Coated with White Egg and Chitosan Using a Deep-Fried Model System  [PDF]

Abstract: In this paper, the effects of frying time, white egg (0%, 5% and 10% w/w) and chitosan (0%, 0.5% and 1.5% w/w) addition to the batter formulation on the quality of simulated crispy deep-fried Kurdish cheese nugget crusts was studied by using a deep-fried crust model. Moisture content, oil content, color and hardness of the samples were determined. Crust models were fried at 190℃ for 60, 120 and 180 s. Batter formulations and frying time significantly (p < 0.01) affected moisture, oil content, color and hardness of Crust models. Batter formulation contain 10% white egg was found to be an effective ingredient in decreasing oil content of Crust models. The mean moisture and fat content of Crust models formed with batter contained 10% white egg, fried at 190℃, for 180s were 6.207 ± 0.447 and 5.649 ± 0.394. Batters containing 5% white egg and 1.5% chitosan showed the lowest moisture content and the highest oil content among all the formulations. Crust models containing combination of white egg and chitosan were the darkest. Hardness of samples containing chitosan were the highest, specially for ch1.5 The mean hardness in 60, 120 and 180s of frying in this formulation were 21.518 ± 0.481, 36.871 ± 1.758 and 49.563 ± 1.847 respectively.
Evaluating the pre-, peri- and post-natal conditions of neonates affected by multiple congenital anomalies: a brief report

Abstract: Background: Neonatal deaths stand for almost two-thirds of all deaths occurring in infants under one year of age. Congenital anomalies are responsible for 24.5% of these cases forming a highly important issue for health policy-makers.Methods: We studied the pre-, peri- and post-natal conditions of 77 patients with multiple congenital anomalies (MCA) through genetic counseling at Several university Hospitals, in Tehran, Iran. The collected data were subsequently analyzed using SPSS software. Results: The patients did not have a good prognosis, demonstrating the need for the diagnosis of such diseases early in pregnancy to be of utmost importance. We screened for trisomy and nuchal translucency, which the first showed a low risk and the second showed normal results in most cases.Conclusion: Establishment of standards for prenatal diagnosis of congenital anomalies and monitoring their implementation seem to be necessary for the reduction of deaths due to congenital anomalies and infant mortality rate (IMR).
Dissecting the Multiphase Circumgalactic Medium Around Three Massive Lensing Galaxies at z =0.4-0.7

Abstract: (abridged) We present multi-sightline absorption spectroscopy of the inner gaseous halo around three lensing galaxies at z=0.4-0.7. Their spectral and photometric properties are characteristic of nearby passive elliptical galaxies with half-light radii of r_e=2.6-8 kpc and estimated total stellar masses of log M*/Ms=10.6-11.2. The lensed QSO sightlines pass through the gaseous halo of the lensing galaxy at projected distances d=3-15 kpc or (1-2) r_e. Our absorption-line search reveals a diverse range of cool (temperature T~10^4 K) halo gas properties among the three lensing galaxies. Specifically, while the quadruple lens for HE0435-1223 shows no trace of associated Mg II or other ionic absorption features to very sensitive limits in all four sightlines, strong MgII absorbers are found along both sightlines at the redshift of the double lens for HE0047-1756, and in one of the two sightlines at the redshift of the lens for HE1104-1805. In addition to Mg II, associated FeII, MgI, and CaII absorption transitions are detected. The absorbers are resolved into 8-15 individual components with a line-of-sight velocity spread of dv~300-600 km/s. The large ionic column densities observed in a few of the components suggest a significant neutral gas fraction comparable to what is expected for Lyman limit or damped Lya absorbers. The majority of the absorbing components exhibit a super solar Fe/Mg ratio, whose pattern is remarkably uniform with a scatter of <0.1 dex across the full dv. Given a predominantly old stellar population in these lensing galaxies, we argue that the Fe-rich gas (which dominates the total absorption width) originates in the SNe Ia enriched inner regions at radius r~d. Our study demonstrates that combining spatially resolved gas kinematics and relative (Fe/Mg) abundance pattern provides a powerful tool to resolve the origin of chemically-enriched cool gas in massive halos.

Abstract: This study is an attempt to scrutinize the nature of guilt in Eugene O’Neill’s Mourning Becomes Electra, which seems to be an inevitable torturing elements of the modern man. Indeed guilt is a preventive obstacle, which keeps on poking and undermining Present by reviving Past. Sense of guilt may lead to depression, isolation and revenge, pretence and egotism. Dirac Operator on Fuzzy AdS_2

Abstract: In this article we construct the chirality and Dirac operators on noncommutative AdS_2. We also derive the discrete spectrum of the Dirac operator which is important in the study of the spectral triple associated with AdS_2. It is shown that the degeneracy of the spectrum present in the commutative AdS_2 is lifted in the noncommutative case. The way we construct the chirality operator is suggestive of how to introduce the projector operators of the corresponding projective modules on this space.
