CORRELATIVITY OF ROCK INHOMOGENEITY AND ROCK BURST TREND

Abstract: The index E/l of rock burst trend is an import parameter which reflects possibility of rock brust,type of rock burst and intensity of rock burst. Based upon a great deal of numerical tests,the stress-strain curve of inhomogeneity rock is studied. It is found that the relation of rock burst trend index E/l and inhomogeneity parameter m is exponential function,and rock burst trend index decreases as inhomogeneity parameter m increases.

Abstract: Rock mass contains large-scale deficiencies,such as pores,fissures and faults,which are usually referred to rock defects.Faults,cracks and fissures are called high-level defects,micro-cracks,pores are called low-level defects.Rock defects of rock deformation and the damage control will have close relationship with different fissure scales.The relationship of quantity and scale of rock mass fissure is analyzed,including great crack and microcosmic fissure.Then with numerical simulation,it is found that the fractures of rock samples will increase gradually;and the control effects from microcosmic fracture scale to deformation and the rock mass failure are studied.The result indicates that the arrangement defect controls the deformation,stability and rock mass failure when the scales of crack,fissure,cavity,spacing,hole are coexisting in rock masses.
Analysis method of epigenetic DNA methylation to dynamically investigate the functional activity of transcription factors in gene expression

Abstract: Background DNA methylation is a fundamental component of epigenetic modification, which is intimately involved in the regulation of gene expression. One important DNA methylation pathway reduces the abilities of transcription factors to bind to gene promoter regions. Although many experiments have been designed to measure genome-wide DNA methylation levels at high resolution, the meaning of these different DNA methylation levels on transcription factor binding abilities remains poorly understood. We have, therefore, developed a method to quantitatively explore the extent to which DNA methylation levels can significantly reduce or even abolish the binding of certain transcription factors, resulting in reduced or non-expression of flanking genes. This method allows transcription factors that are functionally active in gene expression to be investigated. Results The method is based on a general model that depicts the relationship between DNA methylation and transcription factor binding ability based on intrinsic component properties, and the model parameters can be optimized through relative analysis of recognized transcription factor binding status and gene expression profiling. With fixed models, transcription factors functionally active in the regulation of gene expression and affected by epigenetic DNA methylation can be identified and subsequently confirmed. The method identified eleven apparently functionally active transcriptional factors in SH-SY5Y neuroblastoma cells. Conclusions Compared with gene regulatory elements, epigenetic modifications are able to change to dynamically respond to signals from physical, biological and social environments. Our proposed method is therefore designed to provide a dynamic assessment to investigate functionally active transcription factors. With the information deduced from our method, we can predict transcription factor binding status in promoter regions to further investigate how a particular gene is regulated by a specific group of transcription factors organized in a particular pattern. This will be helpful in the diagnosis and development of treatment for numerous diseases, including cancer. Although the method only investigates DNA methylation, it has the potential to be applied to more epigenetic factors, such as histone modification.

Abstract: 采用非均质数值试验方法,研究了在无限大刚度的试验机条件下,岩石的细胞元特性及其非均质分布对岩石单轴压缩全程曲线性态的影响。结果表明,当岩石的非均质参数m≥6时,细胞元的非均质参数m是决定岩石单轴压缩全程曲线性态的主要因素;当m<6时,岩石的细胞元特性是决定岩石单轴压缩全程曲线性态的主要因素。

Abstract: Based on the fact that the released energy of dynamical failure of rock mass is more than induced energy,the inhomogeneity and anisotropy of rock mass are discussed,and the least energy principle of dynamical failure of rock mass is proposed. Different failure manners correspond to different consuming energy and stress states. The consuming energy of rock mass failure in reality is destroy energy under 1D stress state. Some engineering and laboratory cases are presented,and the study results will be beneficial to defence engineering and underground engineering.

Formation of white-eye pattern with microdischarge in an air dielectric barrier discharge system

Abstract: We report on the first observation of white-eye pattern in an air dielectric barrier discharge. The patterned discharges undergo a development as following: random spots - quasihexagonal pattern - hexagonal pattern (type I) - hexagonal pattern (type II) - white-eye pattern - chaos as the voltage is increased. The spatiotemporal characteristics of patterned discharges are investigated by using an optical method. Results show that the two discharge modes, uniform mode and filamentary mode, are actually two different spatial presentations of the same origin: the microdischarge. From the viewpoint of pattern dynamics, the white-eye pattern results from a 3-wave resonance interaction.

Abstract: Based on the monitoring of snowmelt and rainfall runoff pollution in Xi'an city, Shaanxi Province in China, characteristics of snowmelt runoff pollution were analyzed and compared with rainfall runoff pollution, and the water quality of snowmelt runoff were evaluated. The results showed that the pollution of snowmelt runoff had first flush effect in a certain degree, with the concentrations of pollutants such as SS, COD and TN in the initial stage higher than the later stage. The water quality of undisturbed snowmelt is better, and the concentrations of most parameters were lower than those from other land uses. Quality of snowmelt runoff from different land uses differed significantly. Concentrations of most pollutants in the snowmelt runoff were lower than those in the rainfall runoff, except for TP and Zn. The snowmelt runoff concentration of TP on the school playground, rooftop and in the residential area, as well as the COD on the school road, were higher than the values of the Fifth Class of the Surface Water Quality Standard of China.

Abstract: As the core of modern market economy, enterprise group is an advanced form of organization after productive forces reached to a certain stage. For the reason of complexity and specificity of organizational form of enterprise group, the issue of financial cooperative control has been widespread concerned by theorists. Although many researches have been done, but there are still lacking of systematic research results especially in the fields of mechanism of financial cooperative control. After exploring the relationship of value effect and financial control, this paper puts forword a system model of financial cooperative control. It also gives a system analysis including system hierarchy analysis, synergy analysis and coupling analysis. All of these can provide a decision making support for the collaborative mana- gement of enterprise group.

Abstract: Logistics information system should be reconfigurable, open and extensible to support the total supply chain. Soft com-ponent technology is introduced to design and build the logistics information system oriented to the business demand of kinds of supply chains. When the supply chain is changed, logistics information system organizes all kinds of required logistics resources, by recalling predefined soft components to dynamically configure logistics information system, which can ensure quick respond to the changes of supply chain demand and support dynamic reconfiguration of the logistics information system. In this paper, a method of reconfiguration of logistics information system by using soft component technology is proposed. The key problems to the subject domain are investigated and an illustrative case study is presented.
