Face detection based on a novel skin model

Abstract: Face detection based on gray information would lose some useful information of the original image while RGB was changed into gray. A novel skin model was proposed based on the skin chromaticities distribution in YCbCr color space. It was used in face detection combined with face's geometrical structure. The physics-based face database of Oulu university, Finland was used to test our method. The experiment results show that our method performs well in wide illumination changes.

Abstract: Zen is the product of Buddhism and Chinese culture, as the part of which ,it has penetrated into our daily life, and surpassed itself. Zen gives traditional Chinese art design special color and influences people ‘s thought of design esthetics, style of design esthetics, all these become our traditional ways of expression. But the influence of Zen is seldom noticed. Now people come to know the importance of traditions. this article try to talk about Zen’s influence on Chinese art design and its significance by three points: the sense of “yijing”, space and natural consciousness. Key words: zen, Buddhist Culture, art design, traditional culture Résumé: Le zen est le produit de la combinaison du bouddhisme et de la culture chinoise. En tant que partie de notre culture, il pépètre déja dans tous les domaines de notre vie quotidienne. La culture Zen permet au deisign artistique traditionnel de Chine de revêtir des aspects originaux, influe dans une large mesure sur l’esthétique du design et devient ainsi un moyen spécial d’exprimer la sentiment et l’esthétique nationaux. Cependant, l’influence de l’école Zen sur l’art est rarement invoquée. Il est nécessaire de reconsidérer son influence dans le contexte où l’on insiste sur le retour à la tradition nationale du design. L’article présent tente d’aborder comment l’école Zen influence la pensée artistique traditionnelle de Chine et sa conception du design sous les angles de la conception de l’état d’ame, la conscience spatiale et la conscience naturelle dans le design artistique, et d’explorer la portée actuelle de cette influence. Survey of Mentl Health States and Job Burnout of Young Kindergarten Teachers in Private Kindergartens

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to investigate young private kindergarten teachers' mental health and job burnout states. We use SCL-90, MBI(Maslach Burnout Inventory) and working environment & social and economic station to survey kindergarten teachers, and analyses the data of 195 young kindergarten teachers in private kindergartens. We have found:1)Positive detection rate of project is 47.18%, teachers who have at least one abvious positive symptoms cover 8.27%. 2) The positive symptoms and number of items of youth-run private kindergarten teachers are significantly lower than public kindergarten teachers. 3) Emotional exhaustion dimension score is 31.07±8.81,depersonality dimension score is 9.93±5.13,sense of achievement dimension score is 41.99±10.79. The final results show that:1)The level of mental health of young private kindergarten teachers is relatively low, mental health problems are somewhat serious, but the overall situation is better than public kindergarten teachers. 2) 8.72% of the private kindergarten teachers have relatively serious psychological barriers, mainly manifested in factors as fear, depression, hostility and anxiety. 3) The career achievement of private kindergarten teachers is higher while they have medium depersonality level and more serious emotional exhaustion.
Effect of 4-Nitrophenol on Male Mice Reproductive Function

Abstract: 4-Nitrophenol (PNP) has deleterious effects on mammalian physiological functions. The objective of the study is to identify the effect of 4-Nitrophenol on male mice reproductive function. About 50 adult Kunming male mice (25-30 g) were randomly divided into 5 groups, administrated (0.1, 10 and 100 mg kgwt-1) orally for 35 days. Semen quality, histological structure of testis and ultrastructure of primary spermatocytes were detected to analysis effect of PNP on the spermatogenesis function. Furthermore, the functions of liver and kidney were determined by testing the blood of biological indicators. The results showed that 0.1 mg kgwt-1 PNP decreased slightly in body weight (p>0.05) but significantly reduced and rogen hormone-sensitive organ weights (p<0.05). However, semen quality (total sperm count, survival, linear motion and acrosome integrity rate), liver function (alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase, total protein and plasma albumin (p>0.05) and renal function (urea, uric acid and creatinine) had no significant changes (p>0.05); 10 and 100 mg kgwt-1 PNP reduced not only significantly body weight, androgen hormone-sensitive organ weights (p<0.05) but also significantly reduced semen quality, liver and renal function and the effect of 100 mg kgwt-1 PNP was stronger than that of 10 mg kgwt -1 PNP (p<0.05); three doses of PNP on the testicular structure and ultra structure of primary spermatocytes had injury effect. With increasing concentrations of PNP, the damage was enhanced. About 100 mg kgwt-1 PNP significantly disrupted testicular structure and ultra structure of the primary spermatocytes. This shows that PNP affects the liver and kidney detoxification function which reduced the detoxification ability of body and damages the process of spermatogenesis.
Image summarizing based on multi-kernel learning and AP clustering

Abstract: Image summarizing is a critical step in the interactive image retrieval. The traditional methods taking in the feature space may encounter with the feature fusion and bad clustering results. This paper developed a novel approach based on multi-kernel learning and AP(Affinity Propagation) clustering: firstly, getting the image similarity using multi-kernel function to fuse the diverse visual features; secondly, clustering the images into the compact classes with AP method; lastly, selecting the exemplars as the summarization for the whole image collection. The experiments show that the image summarization selected by the method above can give a good global overview of image collections and performance of retrieval.
High Resolution Color Remote Sensing Image Segmentation Based on Improved JSEG Algorithm

Abstract: JSEG算法是一种有效的彩色图像分割方法,但该方法直接用于遥感图像分割时,往往会出现因遥感图像区域边界较模糊而导致区域边界分割不准确,或因区域阴影而导致的过分割现象。为了解决上述问题,提出基于改进JSEG算法的遥感图像分割方法,该方法利用能更好描述区域内颜色的同质性的局部同质矩阵来校正传统JSEG算法中的局部J值,以实现对区域边界的准确反映,提高区域边界分割的准确性;利用图像的LBP/C纹理特征,合并具有相似纹理信息的颜色类,以减弱传统JSEG算法的过分割现象。仿真实验验证了上述方法的有效性。
New approach for precise license plate locating based on edge analysis and color statistics

Abstract: For the problem of the boundaries of the license localization being not correct and existing many non-license plate regions, the paper proposed a new framework of precise license plate localization combined edge analysis and color statistics. The framework included four parts, preprocessing, coarse positioning, precise positioning and non-license plate rejection. Firstly, this method carried out preprocessing such as edge detection and binarization, then adapted the method of projection to located some candidate regions coarsely, after that, analysed edge and color information in and around candidate region to rea-lize the precise locating. For the situation of existing more than one candidate regions, the method sorted the candidate regions, then passed the sorted regions to the character segmentation module, it could effectively eliminate the influence of non-license plate.Experiment results show that the method is highly accurate and precise, high real-time, adapting to different situations.

Abstract: 从大型海藻龙须菜(Gracilaria lemaneiformis (Bory) Daws)中分离获得了9个化合物。通过波谱分析,分别鉴定为(2S)-1-O-棕榈酸-3-O-β-d-吡喃半乳糖甘油酯(1)、(2S)-1-O-棕榈酸-2-O-棕榈油酸-3-O-β-d-吡喃半乳糖甘油酯(2)、(2S)-1-O-棕榈酸-2-O-油酸-3-O-β-d-吡喃半乳糖甘油酯(3)、棕榈酸(4)、亚油酸(5)、尿苷(6)、腺苷(7)、邻苯二甲酸丁酯异丁酯(8)和1,4-二苄氧基苯(9)。它们均为首次从龙须菜中分离得到。
The effect of different number of diffusion gradients on SNR of diffusion tensor-derived measurement maps  [PDF]

Abstract: Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is mainly applied to white matter fiber tracking in human brain, but there is still a debate on how many diffusion gradient directions should be used to get the best results. In this paper, the performance of 7 protocols corresponding to 6, 9, 12, 15, 20, 25, and 30 noncollinear number of diffusion gradi-ent directions (NDGD) were discussed by com-paring signal-noise ratio (SNR) of tensor- de-rived measurement maps and fractional ani-sotropy (FA) values. All DTI data (eight healthy volunteers) were downloaded from the website of Johns Hopkins Medical Institute Laboratory of Brain Anatomi-cal MRI with permission. FA, apparent diffusion constant mean (ADC-mean), the largest eigen-value (LEV), and eigenvector orientation (EVO) maps associated with LEV of all subjects were calculated derived from tensor in the 7 proto-cols via DTI Studio. A method to estimate the variance was presented to calculate SNR of these tensor-derived maps. Mean &amp;#177; standard deviation of the SNR and FA values within re-gion of interest (ROI) selected in the white mat-ter were compared among the 7 protocols. The SNR were improved significantly with NDGD increasing from 6 to 20 (P&amp;lt;0.05). From 20 to 30, SNR were improved significantly for LEV and EVO maps (P&amp;lt;0.05), but no significant dif-ferences for FA and ADC-mean maps (P&amp;gt;0.05). There were no significant variances in FA val-ues within ROI between any two protocols (P&amp;gt; 0.05). The SNR could be improved with NDGD in-creasing, but an optimum protocol is needed because of clinical limitations.
