Improvement of Antibacterial Properties of Stainless Steel by Combining Plasma Cu and Thermal Diffusion

Abstract: The duplex treatment consisting of plasma surface alloyed with copper followed by thermal diffusion under the bombardment of glow was carried out on AISI 304 stainless steel in order to improve its antibacterial properties. The antibacterial properties against Gram―negative E.coli ATCC10536 and Gram―positive S.aureus ATCC25923 of the untreated and duplex―treated stainless steel were investigated by using a spread plate method. The microstructure, chemical composition and the change of the chemical state of copper on the surface of the duplex treated stainless steel were characterized using scanning electron microscope (SEM), glow discharge optical emission spectroscope (GDOES) and X―ray photoelectron spectroscope (XPS). The results show that the antibacterial rates gradually rise with increase of the contact time between the bacteria and the copper―alloyed stainless steel, and the alloyed surface exhibits excellent antibacterial properties against both E.coli and S.aureus within 12 h. The copper concentration on the alloyed surface reaches to 5.7wt% and the thickness of the alloyed layer is about 2.7μm. XPS analysis indicated that Cu ions was released when the copper―alloyed surface contacted with bacterial solution, which led to death of the bacteria.
Corrosive-Wear Behavior of Mo Modified Ti6Al4V Alloy by Wear-Electrochemical Noise Method

Abstract: The Mo surface modified layer on Ti6Al4V substrate is obtained by plasma surface alloying. The structure and composition of the Mo surface modified layer are investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and glow discharge optical emission spectroscopy. The duplex Mo modified layer contains a pure Mo coating on subsurface and diffusion layers between the subsurface and substrate. XRD analysis of the Mo modified layer reveals that a Mo phase exists in the modified layer with <110> and <211> orientations in the subsurface. Corrosion-wear behaviors of Ti6Al4V substrate and Mo modified Ti6Al4V alloy sliding against corundum are investigated with the wear-electrochemical noise technique in a 0.5mol/L NaCl solution. Results indicate that the Mo modified layer improves the antiwear and friction reduction properties of Ti6Al4V. Moreover, the Mo modified layer improves self-corroding electric potentials and decrease the current of Ti6Al4V. The Mo modified layer can improve the corrosion-wear behavior of Ti6Al4V.

Abstract: 20世纪80年代以来,世界许多国家从可持续发展理念出发,提出了许多新思想,特别在1992年联合国环发大会提出可持续发展道路之后,德国等欧洲国家首先提出了循环经济发展战略,并得到其他发达国家的积极响应.进而再生资源产业被许多国家作为战略性产业而得到迅速发展。近年来,我国再生资源产业发展较快。据统计,2003年我国废旧物资的回收总量已经达到8400×104t,其中七大类废旧物资年回收量突破5500×104t,年回收废旧物资总值约500×108元,2004年我国再生资源主要品种年加工处理量约为2000×104t。但与世界发达国家比较,在废旧物资回收率、回收量、回收总值、回收结构、废弃物的综合利用率、再生产品产量以及产业发展规模等方面还存在较大差距。文章研究分析了我国产业发展中存在的问题,在总结和借鉴发达国家经验的基础上,从加强政府对产业发展的宏观调控和引导、产业管理体制改革、营造产业发展的法规政策环境、构建社会化产业发展体系、调整产业空间布局和组织结构以及建立产业市场体系和技术发展体系等方面提出了加快我国再生资源产业发展的对策,对推进我国循环经济发展,实施可持续发展战略有一定的现实意义。

Abstract: The observed tropospheric biennial oscillation (TBO) in the western North Pacific (WNP) monsoon region has an interdecadal variability with a period of 40--50 yr. That suggests a weaker effect of the TBO on the East Asia followed by a stronger one. A simple analytic model was designed to investigate the mechanism of the interdecadal variability of the TBO. The results indicated that a local TBO air--sea system not only supports the TBO variability in the WNP monsoon region but also produces an interdecadal variability of the TBO.

Abstract: 利用1960-1999年月平均海表温度资料和大气低层风场资料,分析了南海海表温度与局地风场之间的关系及其季节变化特征,讨论了局地风场对南海海温的影响与季风的联系.结果表明,南海海表温度异常与局地风场异常之间的关系具有明显的季节变化特征,南海海表温度异常在夏季与纬向风异常呈明显的负相关,在冬季与经向风异常呈明显的正相关,这种季节变化与东亚季风特性(即盛行风存在明显的季节变化)密切相关.为南海海表温度监测预测提供气候背景,从而也解释了过去在大气低层风速与南海海表温度异常相关性方面不同研究结果存在差异的原因.

Abstract: Several theories have been developed to explain tropical biennial oscillation (TBO), as an air--sea interactive system to impact Asian and global weather and climate, and some models have been established to produce a TBO. A simple 5-box model, with almost all the key processes associated with TBO, can produce a TBO by including air--sea interactions in the monsoon regions. Despite that, the South China Sea/western North Pacific summer monsoon (SCS/WNPSM), a very important monsoon subsystem, is neglected. In this paper, based on the dynamical framework of 5-box model, the term of SCS/WNPSM has been added and a 6-box model has been developed. Comparing the difference of TBO sensibilities with several key parameters, air--sea coupling coefficient α, SST-thermocline feedback coefficient γ and wind-evaporation feedback coefficient λ, between the modified model and original model, TBO is more sensible to the parameters in the new model. The results imply that the eastern Pacific and local wind-evaporation play more important roles in the TBO when including SCS/WNPSM.
