According to this aim, it was also included within the aims of study to determine problems based on shepherding of families who make a living on livestock in the region. The main material of study was composed of data obtained from surveys and interviews carried out in villages with village headman, farmers and shepherds. Study visits were completed within 3 months according to time planning made considering locations of villages at Ispir-Erzurum highways. Apart from these data, domestic and foreign literature reviews about the subject and information obtained from related agency and institutions formed the infrastructure of study. In the study it was determined that economic and social problems of shepherds in the region were significant and the most important problem was absence of legal description about themselves and their occupation. Moreover as a result of study it was also determined that there is a serious difficulty in shepherd procurement in the region which influences animal holdings in the regions negatively and as a result farmers either direct towards monotype livestock, decrease the number of animals or immigrate from villages. In this regional study which is carried out about problems of shepherds and solution suggestions, it was empha-sized that problems of shepherds should be solved within agricultural policies adopted throughout country and labor law, and it is important to determine regional problems and develop regional solution suggestions according to these solution suggestions.
Topical Treatment: Basic Rules and Absorbtion
Erturul H. Aydemir
Turkderm , 2012,
Abstract: Topical treatment, is applied as putting the medicines just on the problemmatic area of the skin. It is useful for avoiding the systemic side effects, decreasing the cost and it also works like an occupying treatment. Absorbtion of active ingredient is a passive process and amount of absorption of active ingredient is affected by the properties of skin area applied and topical medicine itself. Absorption is more thinner, warmer and wetter areas of the skin.. Absorption is much more than needed, in the areas which are eroded and damaged. But, entrance of the topical medicine to the circulation is not useful and may cause systemic effects. Active ingredient in the topical medicine might have a high concentration, lipophilic nature and higher affinity to the skin than the affinity to the vehicle for a better absorbtion. Stages of absorbtion: Adsorbtion, absorbtion (penetration, permeation, resorbtion). Vehicles can be classified as liquids, semi solides and solides, but the classification as monophasic, biphasic and poliphasic is better (basicly mixtures of water-oils-powders).
Topical treatment (part two): Vehicles, nature and functions
Erturul H. Aydemir
Turkderm , 2012,
Abstract: Vehicles of topical medicines support the treatment with their physical effects, in addition to their carrying function. Different types of vehicles are composed of various mixtures of three main elements: water (hydrophilic bases), oil and powder. If a vehicle includes only one element, it is called monophasic, if two, biphasic, and if more than two, then it is termed polyphasic. According to the type of utilization, they may be classified as “liquids, semisolids and solids”. Liquids are solutions (monophasic-hydrophilic), colloids (in classic type monophasic), suspensions (biphasic), liquid oils (monophasic), liniments (biphasic) and liquid emulsions (W/O-O/W). Semisolids including creams, ointments (pomades), pastes, foams and seras is the most commonly used group. All semisolids are biphasic or polyphasic except for some ointments which are pure semisolid oil (such as petrolatum). The group of solids includes only powders which are very bad vehicle and used only for prophylaxis.

Sunscreens
Erturul H. Aydemir
Turkderm , 2009,
Abstract: It is well established that sun rays (UVA-B) are strongly efficient on the development of skin cancers and photoaging. Especially protection in the first ten years of life is much more important because of the increasing effect of the UV rays on skin cancers, that exposed in these years. Best way of the protection is clothing. Any dry and tightly woven cloth protects better than a high factor sunscreen. The protective effect of sunscreens against development of BCC and SCC and photoaging is well known but there are some hesitations about the protective effect against malignant melanoma. Despite these hesitations, using sunscreens for exposed areas are recommended. It is recommended also, to support it with avoidance from direct sun exposition, especially in the mid day, in summer. SPF should be over 15, and sunscreens should be applied 20-30 minutes before sun exposition, and should be repeated for every to hours in the beach, and for every four hours in daily life.

Abstract: Acne vulgaris is an inflammatory disease of the pilosebase unit. Although it is not a fatal disease, as it is seen in the young people and cause negative effects on body image perception its importance increase. Etiology is not clear, sebase gland hypertrophy and dysfunction is the genetical base. Hyperseborrhea, abnormal folliculaire keratinisation and bacterial colonisation are the elements of etiopathogenesis. Topical antibacterielles, keratolytics, systemic antibacterielles may be used. Hormones are limitedly used. Isotretinoine oral is a revolution in the treatment, with its permanent effect of 80% and efficiency on the all three factors. (Turk Arch Ped 2011; 46 Suppl: 132-4)
