Agronomía Colombiana , 2009,
Abstract: in colombia, citrus, tree tomato and mango crops are likely to suffer considerable losses from anthracnose caused by several colletotrichum species, which were identified by the present study on infected organs of the three fruit crops, sampled in different regions of the country. identification was based on their morphological and molecular characteristics, as well as on fungicide (benomyl and copper hydroxide) sensitivity and pathogenicity tests. the latter assessed infectivity on both the original hosting crop and the other two crops (crossed infection), by putting the fungi in contact with organs taken from the three fruit crops. molecular identification of the colletotrichum species was carried out through amplification of rdna its regions by means of c. gloeosporioides (cgint) and c. acutatum (caint2) specific primer pcr combining the use of its4 universal primer. the results indicate that c. acutatum is the infectious agent in tahiti lime and tree tomato, and so is c. gloeosporioides in mango. although c. acutatum is the infectious agent in two different fruit species, the strains proved to be specific of their original hosts.

Lower limb asymmetry is common in adolescents and may be a factor causing pain the spine and may also be associated with functional scoliosis of the lumbar region. Spine dysfunctions causing work related disabilities are highly prevalent throughout the world This public health issue is of multifactorial origin and affects he majority of those in mid life, the result of pelvic drop and increased lumbar lordosis. The aim of this work was to study the performance of our teenagers with respect to the mentioned variables. We analyzed 49 panoramic radiographs of the spines of schoolchildren between 13 and 17 years, 24 male and 25 female in the city of Temuco, Chile. Of total subjects 33 showed some degree of pelvic tilt which corresponds to 67.3% of subjects.. In 27 cases subjects were in the 1 to 10mm range and 4 subjects in the 11 to 15mm range. In 16 subjects no deviation was observed in frontal plane and 33 subjects had some degree of deviation. It is important to know these parameters in our adolescent population, to include formal education prevention in all aspects of life and to reduce the symptoms and costs of care and rehabilitation.
Speaking to the Hollow: Silence and Memory in the Last Argentine Dictatorship
Martínez Cabrera, Erika
452o F : Revista de Teoría de la Literatura y Literatura Comparada , 2012,
Abstract: This article is an analysis of the last Argentinean dictatorship discourse and its articulation through the instances of silence and memory. To elucidate them, we deal with the technologies of violence and its discursive consequences: the exhaustion of the collective ability to tell stories, the denial of collective aberration and the perversion of language. From there, we study the discursive axes through which the fiction of the Process was built on: messianism, manichaeism and organicism. Finally we evaluate the development of new symbolic discourses in response to dogmatism, the creation of partial, fragmented and provisional fictions that challenged the official story.

Abstract: The spectral fluorescence characteristics of extracts leaves embedded in silica xerogel matrix promoted by aged time was studied. We obtain a higher PSII stability for extract of leaves embedded in xerogel matrix, with concentration of 8 g / 20 ml and water to TEOS molar ratio of 11, which remain bioactive over a very long period of time, whereas for a water to TEOS molar ratio of 5 a blue-shift fluorescence is observed indicating the PSII denaturizing and formation of fluorescing aggregates associated with the activation of carotenoids radicals.

Abstract: HCV-Ag-specific TH17 cells secrete IL17, a cytokine involved in autoimmune diseases and regulated by IL10 and TGF-b. 5–12% of patients with chronic HCV infection have hypothyroidism. We evaluated the role of these cytokines in this patients by determining serum concentration of TsH, T3, free T4, IL2, IL10, IL12, IL17, TGF-b, anti-TG, TPO, CCP, GBM, and cardiolipin antibodies in 87 chronically noninterferon treated HCV-infected patients. 20 patients (group A) had elevated TsH values (>5? UI/ml) whereas the remaining 67 (group B) had normal values. The percentage of anti-TPO, TG, GBM, and cardiolipin antibodies in group A patients (33%, 41%, 5% and 5%, resp.) as well as IL17, IL2 and TGF-b concentrations ( pg/ml, pg/ml, and pg/ml, resp.) were significantly higher than group B. Abnormal Th17 regulation mediated by IL-2 and low TGF-b concentrations is associated with hypothyroidism in chronically-infected HCV patients. 1. Introduction There is ample evidence showing that 7–11% of HCV-infected children and adult individuals have thyroid dysfunction, mainly subclinical hypothyroidism, prior to the initiation of treatment [1, 2]. The association between autoimmune thyroiditis in HCV-infected patients, in particular in subjects with HCV-related mixed cryoglobulinemia, has also been confirmed [3]. Once combined pegIFNalpha2b + ribavirin therapy is initiated, the percentage of patients with thyroid dysfunction goes up to 15–20% [4]. Immunological mechanisms at the origin of this thyroid dysfunction are presumed but the precise mechanism still is unknown. IL-17A, a proinflammatory cytokine, is secreted by the CD4+Th17 cells [5]. It is involved in some organ-specific autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, inflammatory bowel disease, multiple sclerosis, and even organ allograft rejection [6–9], among many others. The main function of IL-17-secreting T cells is to mediate inflammation, by stimulating production of inflammatory cytokines, such as TNF-a, IL-1b, IL-6, and inflammatory chemokines that promote the recruitment of neutrophils and macrophages [10]. Initial evidence suggested that human Th17 cells were regulated by CD4+25+FoxP3+ regulatory T cells, but recent evidence suggests an alternative regulatory mechanism mediated by IL-10 and TGF-b [11, 12]. Ag-specific Th17 cells are induced in HCV-infected patients, but the HCV-NS4 protein also induces the secretion of IL-10 and TGF-b by monocytes [13]. Neutralization of both anti-inflammatory cytokines significantly enhances NS4-specific IL-17 and IFN-gamma production by T cells from HCV-infected
El pensamiento agrario ilustrado en el Río de la Plata: un estudio del Semanario de Agricultura, Industria y Comercio (1802-1807)
Martínez,Pablo F.;
Mundo agrario , 2009,
Abstract: we carefully study the semanario de agricultura, industria y comercio, edited by juan hipólito vieytes from 1802 to 1807, in order to expose the main lines of the reformist enlightened thought. specifically, we analyse the new economical ideas, which were gradually incorporating liberalism through physiocratic and classical smithian thought. even more specifically, proposals for betterment and growth of agrarian production produced by this reformist thought are considered. we also analyse different aspects of the newly born journalistic discourse, such as its dissemination′s strategy and the actors involved, the emphasis on practical knowledge and the transmission of european ideas, and the changes that took place in the periodical itself.
