The New Components of Catalan Nationalism  [PDF]
Erika Jaráiz, ángel Cazorla, José Manuel Rivera
Open Journal of Political Science (OJPS) , 2019, DOI: 10.4236/ojps.2019.91009
Abstract: In this paper we identify four fundamental factors in the construction of the nation-preconditions, political opportunity structure, mobilization and speech-, integrated by a series of elements that serve as indicators for the approach to our explanatory model. With our analysis we demonstrate that in Catalonia nationalism is explained by contextual elements, elements of mobilisation, fundamentally the leadership, and by the “process” itself. These findings allow us to talk about a Catalan nationalism constructed on the bases of reasons that have to do with unjust treatment by Spanish governments, trust and expectations.

Journal of Cancer Therapy (JCT) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/jct.2012.325100
Abstract: Purpose: This study was conducted to describe feelings and spiritual practices of patients with mastectomy. Method: The study was employed a qualitative design at a private university hospital oncology unit in Ankara, Turkey. Interviews were performed with 20 mastectomized women. Results: The findings indicated that commonly used in several spiritual practices; prayer was used by 96%, of the patients, and 94% requested that others pray for their health, the practice to positive reframing (76%), the practice to planning for family-friends activities (74%), visiting mos-que-shrine (73%), and the practice to reading Quran (71%). The categorization of the data led to identification of three thematic units. The first we described as “Experiencing the consequences of illness as a disorder”. The second was “Restoring a sense of order to life”, and the third was “Living with the new condition”. Conclusion: We concluded that a having mastectomy was difficult for the subjects. In this respect, nurses’ role is vital to help women with breast cancer in such a difficult and modifying process as breast removal.
Simulation-Enhanced Interprofessional Education in Health Care  [PDF]
Gul Pinar
Creative Education (CE) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/ce.2015.617189
Abstract: Using simulation-enhanced interprofessional education in health care increasingly refers to the development of team member. Collaborative teamwork in a simulated healthcare environment can contribute to increasing students’ understanding of professional roles and team building in clinical settings. Common objectives are developed for both teams that focused on safer care, effective communication, and implementation of appropriate decision-making in the management of patients. Studies highlight the benefits of social learning with peers, noting that collaboration enhances knowledge, especially when learners are responsive to the contributions of others. However, simulated interprofessional education presents many challenges that can impact teamwork opportunities. Additional research needs to be conducted to evaluate the most effective way to incorporate simulation in teamwork learning. The purpose of this study is to present a framework of IPE and specific recommendations to achieve competencies and address these challenges for IPE using simulation.
The Effects of Mutual Coupling and Transformer Connection Type on Frequency Response of Unbalanced Three Phase Electrical Distribution System  [PDF]
Omer Gul, Adnan Kaypmaz
Energy and Power Engineering (EPE) , 2010, DOI: 10.4236/epe.2010.24035
Abstract: In this paper, a novel harmonic modeling technique by utilizing the concept of multi-terminal components is presented and applied to frequency scan analysis in multiphase distribution system. The proposed modeling technique is based on gathering the same phase busses and elements as a separate group (phase grouping technique, PGT) and uses multi-terminal components to model three-phase distribution system. Using multi- terminal component and PGT, distribution system elements, particularly, lines and transformers can effectively be modeled even in harmonic domain. The proposed modeling technique is applied to a test system for frequency scan analysis in order to show the frequency response of the test system in single and three-phase conditions. Consequently, the effects of mutual coupling and transformer connection types on three-phase frequency scan responses are analyzed for symmetrical and asymmetrical line configurations.
Simulation-Based Learning in Healthcare Ethics Education  [PDF]
Gul Pinar, Sibel Peksoy
Creative Education (CE) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/ce.2016.71013
Abstract: Every year, millions of people die or get seriously injured due to errors in health practices. Therefore, it is crucial that safe care is enabled and medical errors are minimized in nursing practices and rapid response is given to changing health conditions. In order to train nurses who have professional values and are efficient in their field, simulation-based ethical education has become popular today. Enabling patient safety and preserving legal rights are ethical obligations in terms of personal, institutional and vocational benefit. Simulation is an educational model consisting of ethical and legal concepts. In this context, it is envisaged that simulation-based training such as self-rule, patient consent, patient defensiveness, empathy, communication skills and care in special patient groups are integrated in all health fields. It is considered that this approach regarded as an innovative practice can contribute to the training of health team, which has ethical values. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the current state of the simulation-based ethical training under the light of literature review.

Open Access Library Journal (OALib Journal) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/oalib.1101250
Abstract: Turkish tourism was developed as more dependent on external demand until the 2000s. With the effect of increase in demand of domestic tourism, Turkish tourism has gained more stable and more balanced structure in the early 21st century. Economic stability in recent years, personal income growth, developments in the banking and finance sector play an important role in this increase in demand for domestic tourism. In parallel to these developments in Turkey, increasing use of consumer credit has increased significantly domestic and international tourism demand of the Turkish citizens in the last 10 years. In our study, taking account these developments in Turkish tourism, the effect of the use of consumer credit for touristic consumption is to determine for domestic and foreign tourism in Turkey.

Optimal Campaign in the Smoking Dynamics
Gul Zaman
Computational and Mathematical Methods in Medicine , 2011, DOI: 10.1155/2011/163834
Abstract: We present the optimal campaigns in the smoking dynamics. Assuming that the giving up smoking model is described by the simplified (potential-light-smoker-quit smoker) model, we consider two possible control variables in the form of education and treatment campaigns oriented to decrease the attitude towards smoking. In order to do this we minimize the number of light (occasional) and persistent smokers and maximize the number of quit smokers in a community. We first show the existence of an optimal control for the control problem and then derive the optimality system by using the Pontryagin maximum principle. Finally numerical results of real epidemic are presented to show the applicability and efficiency of this approach.
