Objective: To evaluate the influence of sociological factors on the perceived health related quality of life among hemodialysis patients in our unit. Methodology: Prospective, descriptive and cross-sectional study in hemodialysis patients who had been at least 3 months on chronic treatment. EuroQol-5D was used as a measuring instrument. As sociological dependent variables were studied: age, sex, marital status, cohabitation, educational level and monthly income. Results: Forty-seven patients were studied: 67% men, mean age 62 ± 15 years. Sixty-three percent suffered some type of moderated pain / discomfort, and 49% were anxious / depressed to varying degrees. Neither sex nor educational level correlated with any parameter of the EuroQol-5D. Married people had worse scores in terms of VAS (p = 0.012), anxiety / depression (p = 0.002) and perceived health status in the past year (p = 0.016). Those who lived alone had better scores on the VAS (p = 0.062) and less pain / dis

Abstract: this paper presents and discusses some notions currently used in the studies on ancient greek syntax. the first section explores the field assigned to syntax within the general framework of ancient greek linguistics and philology. the second and the third sections intend to discuss the concepts of utterance and syntagm as applied to the syntax of ancient greek. the forth section explores some distributional criteria for identifying the semantic function fulfilled by the complements of the sentence. next, the concepts of semantic role, relational notion, semantic, syntactic and pragmatic function are briefly discussed. section 7 summarizes the structure of the sentence and argues for the distinction of a number of layers on which its complements lie. after a brief conclusion with the main results, the paper closes with a list of books on greek syntax published from 1991 up to 2003.

MediSur , 2010,
Abstract: gastric volvulus is a rare entity that was first described by berti in 1866 while performing a necropsy. in 1896, berg first established the diagnosis during the operation. in 1904, borchardt described the classic triad of epigastric distension with pain, difficulty for the nasogastric tube to pass and nausea without vomiting. a case of a female patient aged 73 and 56 kg in weight, with a history of ischemic heart disease and gastric ulcer, who visited the emergency department because of vomiting, diffuse abdominal pain and bloating is presented. she had a surgery on an urgent basis to confirm the diagnosis of mixed gastric volvulus without vascular compromise. gastropexy was performed with the diaphragm. this patient progressed satisfactorily, allowing hospital discharge 72 hours after surgery. due to the weirdness of this case it was decided to have it published.

Abstract After the Civil War, in Spain a new regime turns up. Franc was the central figure of that new situation. The Francoism wanted to give an idealizada image of the man, like in all the totalitarian regimes. A defense of myth of the perfect man will become, which included his physical appearence, although it would always be nearer the image of the perfect gentelman, of the "soldier-monk ", a compound of austerity, spirit of sacrifice, an impassiveness when faced with bloodshed, that to the developed corporal model in the Italian Fascista and German nazism. The new organism was to be a delegation or agency of the General Secretariat of the National Movement, the only political party permitted and an uneasy alliance of Falangists, Monarchists and Carlists. Its mission was to use the international sport arena to exhibit Spanish virility and "fury", the way the German and Italian regimes in the decade from 1930 to 1940. Thus from the very beginning any possibility of sport having some degree of independence with regard to the new political power was put firmly aside. Consequently to speak of the cult to the body, from sport, during the pro-Franco period,
