Zircon U-Pb age of granitic gneiss on Duku highway in western Tianshan of China and its geological implications

Abstract: Granitic gneiss on Duku highway in western Tianshan has been dated by the U-Pb zircon method. When plotted on the concordia diagram, the results give linear data array and the upper intercept age of (882 ± 33)Ma, and the age was considered as the crystallization age of the protolith. Granitic gneiss has high ASI value (1.09), high LILE and LREE contents, significantly negative Eu depletion, distinctly negative Ba, Sr, P, Ti and Nb anomalies and indicate continental crust parentage, which is consistent with high initial87Sr/86Sr ratios value (0.7170) and very negative εNd(t)=-14.1. The protolith magma is interpreted as a product of partial melting of the basement rocks of older basement crust.

Abstract: Yulita KS (2011) Genetic variations of Lansium domesticum Corr. accessions from Java, Bengkulu and Ceram based on Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA fingerprints. Biodiversitas 12: 125-130. Duku (Lansium domesticum Corr.) is one of popular tropical fruits in SE Asia. The spesies has three varieties, known as duku, langsat and kokosan; and duku is the most popular one for being the sweetiest fruit. Indonesia has several local varieties of duku, such as duku Condet, duku Sumber and duku Palembang. This present study aimed to assess genetic diversity of 47 accessions of duku from Java, Sumatra, and Ceram based on RAPD fingerprints. Ten RAPD’s primers were initially screened and five were selected for the analysis. These five primers (OPA 7, 13, 18, OPB 7, and OPN 12) generated 53 scorable bands with an average of 10.6 polymorphic fragment per primer. Percentage of polymorphism ranged from 16.89% (OPA 7 and OPN 12) to 24.54% (OPB 7) with an average of 20.16% polymorphism. OPB 7 at 450 bp was exclusively possessed by accession 20 (Java), OPA 18 at 500 bp was by accession 6 (Java), 550 bp by 3 clones from Bengkulu. While OPN 12 at 300 bp and OPA 13 at 450 bp were shared among the accessions. Clustering analysis was performed based on RAPD profiles using the UPGMA method. The range of genetic similarity value among accessions was 0.02-0.65 suggesting high variation of gene pool existed among accessions.

Abstract: Recently, the highway construction projects increase rapidly in Vietnam and most of them are international contracting projects. It results serious negative influence on the local government and enterprises that the common cost overrun of projects, and the risk factors of it is different in the different countries, different stages and projects types. So in this paper, we generate an evaluation index system of highway construction projects cost overrun risk in Vietnam in the perspective of different project participants, and also evaluate the effects of these factors in method of regression analysis. The empirical results confirmed 7 main factors that have aggravated cost overrun risk in construction stages, e.g. survey and design scheme risk. In final, the corresponding suggestions are proposed to reduce the project cost overrun risk.

Abstract: Literature review indicates that most studies on pavement management have been on reconstruction and rehabilitation, but not on maintenance; this includes routine, corrective and preventive maintenance. This study developed linear regression models to estimate the total maintenance cost and component costs for labor, materials, equipment, and stockpile. The data used in the model development were extracted from the pavement and maintenance management systems of the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT). The life cycle maintenance strategies adopted by NDOT for five maintenance prioritization categories were used as the basis for developing the regression models of this study. These regression models are specified for each stage of life-cycle maintenance strategies. The models indicate that age, traffic flow, elevation, type of maintenance, maintenance schedule, life cycle stage, and the districts where maintenances are performed all are important factors that influence the magnitude of the costs. Because these models have embedded the road conditions into the life-cycle stage and type of maintenance performed, they can be easily integrated into existing pavement management systems for implementation.

Abstract: To develop the dynamic monitoring algorithm of visual safety distance in highway, by using the highway video traffic monitoring system, the research platform of four kinds of terrain environment in plateau, mountainous area, plain and coastal area is established. Results show that through the contrast between the sample data and visibility train of thought, based on the theory of mathematical morphology, expressway visibility dynamic monitoring image information system can be established. Based on the theory of the measurement of the basic formula of visibility, the dynamic model of the optimization is established, set up 200 meters distance visual observation target system, research visual range detection algorithm process.

Abstract: Errant vehicles occur as a result of the driver losing control of the vehicle. This may be due to sudden illness, dozing off or skidding while attempting a manoeuvre. In containing such an errant vehicle on a highway, the priority is to avoid collision with other vehicles. A sloped highway median provides a run-off area for such vehicles where the vehicle can be slowed down and stopped without the danger of being re-directed into the path of other vehicles as may occur with edge barriers. Here, the effect of a containment barrier at the bottom of the sloped median is studied with a view to prevent the vehicle from being redirected outside the median after colliding with the barrier. The focus of this work is on the change of kinematic states due to the collision, so a momentum-based vehicle collision analysis is developed, with the collision energy loss related to the vehicle stiffness being considered by coefficient of restitution. The average maximum lateral displacements post-collision are read from the diagram of vehicle x-y trajectories. In this way, the most suitable median slope 1:6 is selected.

Abstract: The traumatic break of the ascending aorta is rare. We bring report the case of a 40-year-old man, a victim of accident of the public highway having caused a break of the posterior face of the ascending aorta. The explorations scanno graphique and per operating highlighted this break. The treatment consisted of an edge-to-edge direct suture of the ascending aorta.

Abstract: The idea of a central tourist traffic artery of the Balkan Peninsula is dealt with in this paper. In addition, the motives for its existence are explained. Regarding the specific interdependence of agriculture and tourism, the agricultural regions surrounding the proposed east Serbian artery are analyzed. Within the given scope of resources, exploitation of certain organizational opportunities is suggested.
