Test of T violation in neutral B decays

Abstract: T violation should be tested independently of CP violation. Besides K system, B meson decays provide another good place to study T violation. In the Standard Model, T violation in $B^0 \rightleftharpoons \bar{B^0}$ oscillation is expected to be small. The angular distribution of $B\to VV$ decay permits one to extract the T-odd correlation. In the absence of final state interaction, T violation in $B\to J/\psi(l^+ l^-) K^*(K_S\pi^0)$ decay can reach $4-7%$ via $B^0-\bar{B^0}$ mixing.
Preparation and Characterization of Ag-Doped BaTiO3 Conductive Powders

Abstract: BaTiO3 powders doped with Ag at different Ag/Ba molar ratios were prepared by sol-gel method. The resistivity reached the lowest point of 5.644 Ω·m when Ag concentration was 0.10 at% and the powders were calcined for two times at 800°C and 500°C. XRD and FTIR investigations showed that no new substance was formed after the doping and calcining process, but the particle size and the strength of Ti-O bond in modified BaTiO3 crystal cell all changed. The conductivity of Ag-doped BaTiO3 powders with different Ag concentrations and through different preparing methods was discussed by using defect theory.

Bronchial Sleeve Lobectomy and Carinal Resection in the Treatment of Central Lung Cancer: A Report of 92 Cases

Abstract: Background and objective Surgery is the best treatment for early and middle stage non-small cell lung cancer. The aim of this study is to summarize the experience of bronchial sleeve mordality lobectomy and carinal resection in the treatment of 92 patients with central lung cancer from January, 1996 to May, 2010. Methods A total of 92 patients with central lung cancer underwent pulmonary resection. Carinal resection and reconstruction were performed in 14 patients, bronchial sleeve resection in 70 patients, and bronchial sleeve combined with pulmonary artery sleeve lobectomy in 8 patients. Results There was no operative mortality. The average operation time was 2 hours and 43 minutes. Postoperative complications such as pulmonary atelectasis occurred in 6.94% (7/92) of total group, and hoarseness in 4.35% (4/92). The 1, 3 and 5 year survival rates were 80.7%, 59.6% and 31.5%. Conclusion Bronchial sleeve lobectomy and double sleeve lobectomy are capable of excising pulmonary tumor as much as possible while remaining healthy lung tissues. Carinal resection and reconstruction is helpful to extend the surgical indication, and increase the chance of successful resection.
Genome-Wide Landscapes of Human Local Adaptation in Asia

Abstract: Genetic studies of human local adaptation have been facilitated greatly by recent advances in high-throughput genotyping and sequencing technologies. However, few studies have investigated local adaptation in Asian populations on a genome-wide scale and with a high geographic resolution. In this study, taking advantage of the dense population coverage in Southeast Asia, which is the part of the world least studied in term of natural selection, we depicted genome-wide landscapes of local adaptations in 63 Asian populations representing the majority of linguistic and ethnic groups in Asia. Using genome-wide data analysis, we discovered many genes showing signs of local adaptation or natural selection. Notable examples, such as FOXQ1, MAST2, and CDH4, were found to play a role in hair follicle development and human cancer, signal transduction, and tumor repression, respectively. These showed strong indications of natural selection in Philippine Negritos, a group of aboriginal hunter-gatherers living in the Philippines. MTTP, which has associations with metabolic syndrome, body mass index, and insulin regulation, showed a strong signature of selection in Southeast Asians, including Indonesians. Functional annotation analysis revealed that genes and genetic variants underlying natural selections were generally enriched in the functional category of alternative splicing. Specifically, many genes showing significant difference with respect to allele frequency between northern and southern Asian populations were found to be associated with human height and growth and various immune pathways. In summary, this study contributes to the overall understanding of human local adaptation in Asia and has identified both known and novel signatures of natural selection in the human genome.

Abstract: The improved AdaBoost-SVM algorithm is used to classify the safety and the risk from the Peers-to-Peers net loan platforms. Since the SVM algorithm is hard to deal with the rare samples and its training is slow, rule sampling is used to reduce the classify noise. Then, with the combinations of learning machine, P2P risks can be identified. The result shows that IAdaBoost algorithm can improve the risk platform classification accuracy. And the error of classification can be controlled in 5%.
The Development of Foreign Capital Insurance Market, FDI and Economic Growth in China  [PDF]

Abstract: This paper analyzes the relationship among foreign capital insurance market, FDI and economic growth in China. We use unit root test, least square regression and Granger causality test to examine the relationship with the data over the period 1984-2015. It is found that the development of China’s foreign capital insurance market has not promoted China’s economic growth, FDI has promoted China’s economic growth, and China’s economic growth has generally promoted the development of foreign capital insurance market. The channels of insurance market acting on economic growth are not smooth enough for foreign capital in China, and its action modes may be mainly applicable to China’s domestic insurance market.
Nonstructural Protein NS4 of Rice Stripe Virus Plays a Critical Role in Viral Spread in the Body of Vector Insects

Abstract: Rice stripe virus (RSV), a tenuivirus, is transmitted by small brown planthopper (SBPH) in a persistent-propagative manner. In this study, sequential infection of RSV in the internal organs of SBPH after ingestion of virus indicated that RSV initially infected the midgut epithelium, and then progressed to the visceral muscle tissues, through which RSV spread to the entire alimentary canal. Finally, RSV spread into the salivary glands and reproductive system. During viral infection, the nonstructural protein NS4 of RSV formed cytoplasmic inclusions in various tissues of viruliferous SBPH. We demonstrated that the ribonucleoprotein particles of RSV were closely associated with NS4-specific inclusions in the body of viruliferous SBPH through a direct interaction between NS4 and nucleoprotein of RSV. Moreover, the knockdown of NS4 expression due to RNA interference induced by dsRNA from NS4 gene significantly prevented the spread of RSV in the bodies of SBPHs without a significant effect on viral replication in continuous cell culture derived from SBPH. All these results suggest that the nonstructural protein NS4 of RSV plays a critical role in viral spread by the vector insects.

Abstract: The optokinetic nystagmus of rabbit were investigated. In close loop condition, the eye-movement velocity was directly proportional to the velocity of stimulus, and the gain of the OKN was approximately equal to one. In open loop condition, the eye movement velocity was considerably larger than the velocity of stimulus and the maximum gain of the open loop OKN reached about 100; it indicates that the OKN system is controlled by a negative feedback mechanism of hacking movement. The OKN response decreased while the stimulus field was reduced; it means that there is a spatial summation mechanism of moving information in rabbit OKN system. A narrow horizontal zone in the central part of the visual field was high sensitive to stimulus, the OKN response can be evoked by a single moving spot when located within that central part of the visual streak. So it is possible that the retinal function and the movement perecption of the visual system could be diagnosed by the local OKN Which is elicited by the local small stimulus in open loop conditionn.

Abstract: The High Intensity Heavy-Ion Accelerator Facility is a new project in the Institute of Modern Physics. The dipole magnets of all rings are conceived as fast cycled superconducting magnet with high magnetic field and large gap, the warm iron and superconducting coil structure (superferric) is adopted. The reasonable structure design of coil and cryostat is very important for reliable operation. Based on the finite element software ANSYS, the mechanical analysis of electromagnetic stress, the thermal stress in the cooling down and the stress in the pumping are showed in detail. According to the analysis result, the supporter structure is the key problem of coil system. With reasonable support's structure design, the stress and the deformation of coil structure can be reduced effectively, which ensure the stable operation of superconducting coil system.
