Optimization of Tracking Error for Robust Portfolio of Risk Assets with Transaction Cost  [PDF]

Abstract: Based on the optimization of robust portfolio with tracking error, a robust mean-variance portfolio selection model of tracking error with transaction cost is presented for the case that only risky assets exist and expected returns of assets are uncertain and belong to a convex polyhedron. This paper aims to solve the problem of the portfolio with the selection of the ratio on the condition of maximumimum fluctuation of the tracking error, making the expectation of the return to be the maximumimum. It also makes the portfolio’s practical choice by the function of the linear transaction cost as the same time of construction and application of the model. Empirical analysis with five real stocks is performed by the method of LMI (Linear Matrix Inequality) to show the efficiency of the model.

Energy-Saving Study of a System for Ammonium Sulfate Recovery from Wastewater with Mechanical Vapor Compression (MVC)

Abstract: In this study, a new two stage Mechanical Vapor Compression (MVC) system which is used to recycle ammonium sulfate is investigated. In evaporation process, there are many efficient ways such as multiple-effect evaporation, multi-stage flash, thermal vapor compression, and mechanical vapor compression and so on. In these ways MVC is considered to be more effective. Now, almost all of the MVC systems in the literatures are about one stage structure. However, in the other process such as continuous crystallizer, if one stage MVC system is adopted, a lot of energy will be wasted. Therefore, in order to further save energy, a new system should be proposed. In this study, a new two stage MVC system is proposed and analyzed using the software of ASPEN PLUS. The first stage is a forcible recycle evaporator with MVC and the second one is a forcible recycle crystallizer with MVC. The energy consumption is discussed as a function of the middle concentration and the operating temperature. The results show that the compressor power decreases with the increase in the operating temperature and the optimal compressor power is obtained when the mass concentration is about 32%. Compared with one stage MVC system the running cost of the new system can be saved 29.2% and more than 25.8% of the energy can be saved. Additionally, it can save running cost over 42.2% and save energy more than 59.6% compared with the conventional multi-effect system.

Abstract: Considering the linear program for minimal solution with standard style:*,by adding artificial variables, the directly based solution can be obtained. If the problem doesn't have either feasible or dual feasible base solution, a new common method is obtained in the paper. Iterative process as following as:*,places * as the main element,if *, places * as the main element . Row transformation the simplex table elementary, a feasible solution of the problem or the optimal solution are obtained. Through the analysis and comparison with a big-M method, two-phase method, the results show that it is a simple effective and feasible method. Abstract: Transparent ceramics is one of the most important materials with combined properties of structural and functional ceramics. The development of transparent ceramics is based on the research and development of nano sciences and technology, and of advanced ceramic processing sciences and technology. It will be the key materials for national economic development and defense necessary with high technology needed. At the same time, the process of ceramics from traditional opaque to translucent and to transparent will refer to many basic science issues, especially, the relationship between microstructure (including pores, grain boundary, grain size, morphology and so on) and photophysical properties of materials is still not clear. Therefore, as one of the main developing field of inorganic materials, the development of transparent ceramics needs joint efforts from chemistry, physics, laser, and material scientists together. The current advance of transparent ceramics is reviewed in this paper.
Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer formalism of superconductivity in carbon nanotubes

Abstract: We develop the Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer (BCS) formalism for the superconductivity of carbon nanotubes. It is found that the superconducting transition temperature Tc of single-wall carbon nanotubes decreases exponentially with the increase of the tube diameter because the density of states near the Fermi energy is inversely proportional to the tube diameter. For the multi-wall carbon nanotubes, the Cooper paring hopping between layers enhances the superconducting correlation and increases the superconducting transition temperature, which is consistent with the experimental observation.

Abstract: The electromagnetic form factors of the deuteron, particularly the quadrupole form factor, are studied with a help of a phenomenological Lagrangian approach where the vertex of the deuteron-proton-neutron with $D$-state contribution is explicitly taken into account. The result shows the importance of this contribution to the quadrupole form factor in the approach.

Abstract: Constructing low-carbon green oil port is not only beneficial to change the present situation of Chinese oil port which has pollution problems and many risks, but also to increase the economic efficiency and improve the ability of sustainable development of low-carbon green oil port. While coordinating the cooperative relationship between each related enterprises participated in the construction of oil port low-carbon green oil port, is the important segment to build a low-carbon green oil port. This paper adopted the static game model under the asymmetric circumstance to research cooperative relations of low-carbon green oil port between the oil port enterprises and other enterprises and achieved good research achievements. The study results can provide for oil port supply chain related enterprise whether you choose cooperative strategy with the theory basis and the reference for decision.
Influencing Factors and Process on in Situ Degradation of Poly(Butylene Succinate) Film by Strain Bionectria ochroleuca BFM-X1 in Soil  [PDF]

Abstract: This is the first report on the PBS film degraded by any Bionectria ochroleuca fungal strain. The fungal strain BFM-X1 was isolated from an air environment on a vegetable field and was capable of degrading poly(butylene succinate) (PBS). The taxonomic identity of the strain BFM-X1 was confirmed to be Bionectria ochroleuca (showing a 99% similarity to B. ochroleuca in a BLAST search) through an ITS rRNA analysis. The bio-degradation of the PBS film by strain BFM-X1 was studied. Approximately 97.9% of the PBS film was degraded after strain BFM-X1 was inoculated at 28?C for 14 days. The degradation efficiency of BFM-X1 against PBS film under different soil environmental conditions was characterized. The results indicated that 62.78% of the PBS film loss was recorded in a 30-d experimental run in a sterile soil environment indoors. On adding strain BFM-X1 to a soil sample, the PBS degradation rate accelerated approximately fivefold. Furthermore, both temperature and humidity influenced the in situ degradation of the PBS by strain BFM-X1, and temperature may be the major regulating factor. The degradation was particularly effective in the warm season, with 90% of weight loss occurring in July and August. Scanning electron microscope observations showed surface changes to the film during the degradation process, which suggested that strain BFM-X1preferentially degraded an amorphous part of the film from the surface. These results suggested that the strain B. ochroleuca BFM-X1 was a new resource for degrading PBS film and has high potential in the bioremediation of PBS-plastic-contaminated soil environment

Abstract: Numerical simulation and theoretical analysis of seawater intrusion is the mathematical basis for modern environmental science. Its mathematical model is the nonlinear coupled system of partial differential equations with initial-boundary problems. For a generic case of a three-dimensional bounded region, two kinds of finite difference fractional steps pro- cedures are put forward. Optimal order estimates in norm are derived for the error in the approximation solution. The present method has been successfully used in predicting the consequences of seawater intrusion and protection projects.
