Research on the Relationship of Commercial Bank’s Loan Loss Provision and Earning Management and Capital Management  [PDF]

Abstract: This paper reviewed and analyzed the development of our nation’s loan loss provision system, then studied the relations of commercial bank loan loss provision and earnings management and capital management through empirical study. This paper selected 14 domestic commercial banks of year 2001-2009 as data sample, using Kanagaretnam et al.’s (2003) research method, dividing the loan loss provision into two parts that is discretionary and nondiscretionary part, and empirically studied the relationship of discretionary part of loan loss provision and earnings before taxes and provisions (EBTP) and capital adequacy ratio (CAR). Empirical results show that: there is significant positive correlation between the discretionary loan loss provisions and earnings before taxes and provisions (EBTP), and there is significant negative correlation between the discretionary loan loss provisions and capital adequacy ratio (CAR). That provides evidence for the relation of bank loan loss provision and earnings management and capital management. In the last, combining with empirical research findings and the status of the loan loss provision system of China’s commercial banks, this paper made several suggestions to improve the system of loan loss provision.
Acupuncture intervention combined with assisted reproductive technology: its different effects at different time points during the in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer course

Abstract: Recently the combination of acupuncture with assisted reproductive technology (ART) to increase the outcomes of ART is being widely studied. In this article, the literatures concerning random controlled clinical trials since 2002 are reviewed and the designs of the trials, especially the timing of acupuncture, are evaluated. Over the past 5 years, the related clinical trials have primarily showed that acupuncture done immediately before and after embryo transfer might increase the assisted reproduction rates, but still requiring further high quality trials with large samples; in addition, different stimulation modes could produce different result, and so far there has not been a consensus as to the optimal time-point for the acupuncture intervention during the in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET) course. Since the effects of acupuncture change with women's endocrine cycles, it is important and possible to make a breakthrough in ART outcomes if acupuncture is performed at a suitable time point during the cycle of IVF/ET combined with ART.

Abstract: Based on the theory of growth mode in circulation economy, this article analyses current situation and problems of China’s commodity circulation. It describes the impact of improving the level of logistics management on changing the growth mode of circulation economy from the perspective of logistics time value, location value and circulation processing value. It brings forward that improving the level of logistics management is the based way of changing the growth mode of circulation economy. It finally brings forward suggestions on improving the level of logistics management among enterprises.
Tunnel Surrounding Rock Deformation Characteristics and Control in Deep Coal Mining  [PDF]

Abstract:

In order to study the failure characteristics and control method of deep tunnel surrounding rock, based on the stress test, the structure and stress state of the main transportation tunnel surrounding rock in Mine Zhaogezhuang level 14 was analyzed, and it shows that the surrounding rock is exposed to an interphase hard and soft disadvantageous structure state and complex high stress repeated addition area; Through the theoretical analysis and the statistical data, the relation between the tunnel stress transformation and the surrounding rock deformation was proposed; Through the numerical simulation of the tunnel surrounding rock failure process with the help of RFPA procedure, the results show that the damage of the transportation tunnel level 14 mainly occurs in the bottom and the two coal ribs, and the failure process is spreading from the bottom to the two coal ribs, and the effect of the surrounding rock deformation control is obvious by using the way of 2.5 m anchor with 1.0 m grouting strengthening.

Biological Toxicity of Sewage Sludge Stabilized by Reed Bed on the Luminescent Bacteria  [PDF]

Abstract: With the expanding scale of urban wastewater treatment, the resulting excess sludge quantity is also growing. Excess sludge treatment and disposal has become an important part of the sewage treatment. Sludge itself is rich in essential nutrients of plant growth such as nitrogen and phosphorus, so it’s a good organic fertilizer; but it often also contains harmful substances such as heavy metals. If the sludge treatment is not good, it not only can bring secondary pollution to the environment, but also can cause the waste of resources. Luminescent bacteria tests are conducted in this research by comparing the effects on the absorption and transformation of toxic substances between traditional sludge drying bed and reed bed. The study finds that the biological toxicity of surface layer sludge either in reed bed or in traditional drying bed has little change with the seasons and maintains in low level. While the biological toxicity in the bottom of sludge has change with the seasons and achieves the lowest level in summer and fall, and the biological toxicity of sludge in reed bed is lower than that of traditional drying bed.
VOCs Destruction by Plasma Catalyst Coupling Using AL-KO PURE Air Purifier on Industrial Scale  [PDF]

Abstract:

We have investigated in this study the destruction of acetone and toluene with AL-KO PURE air purifier (AL-KO PURE) on industrial scale. In the case of acetone, 100% pollutant abatement is achieved with AL-KO PURE over more than 80 hours (the test duration time) at the high level concentration of 0.5 ppm (1187 μg/m3, about 7 times higher than the average living room level). This corresponds to 0.2 μmol/s with a flow rate of 38.42 m3/h. The regeneration of a saturated catalytic filter was also tested. When the catalytic filter of AL-KO PURE is fully saturated with acetone, a 100% acetone destruction efficiency can be achieved at 0.46 ppm concentration with 25% fan speed. Moreover the second pollutant, toluene, has been also studied. 100% toluene abatement also is achieved with AL-KO PURE over more than 80 hours (the test duration time) at the high level concentration of 0.2 ppm (811 μg/m3, 0.087 μmol/s with a flow rate of 38.42 m3/h). Finally, the availability for the simultaneous removal of both pollutants, acetone and toluene, has been also studied.

Improved Interference Cancellation Scheme for X Channels with Four Antennas  [PDF]

Abstract: Interference cancellation scheme without feedback is proposed for X channels with four antennas at each user. Space-time codeword with Alamouti structure is designed for each user. Codewords are combined according a certain rule. The unwanted codewords are cancelled by linear operation on the received signals. Then, multi-user interference is mitigated by the orthogonal property of the Alamouti code. Comparing with the existing scheme for the same scene, feedback information is not required in the proposed scheme. So the transmission efficiency is improved.
One-Step Preparation and Characterization of Zinc Phosphate Nanocrystals with Modified Surface  [PDF]

Abstract: The surface-modified zinc phosphate (Zn3(PO4)2) nanocrystals were synthesized by a facile and efficient one-step ultrasonic-template-microwave (UTM) assisted route. The crystal structure, optical properties and morphologies of zinc phosphate nanocrystals were characterized by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy and transmission electron microscope. And the TEM image showed that the product had good dispersion with a particle size of 30 – 35 nm. The anti-corrosion function of anti-corrosive paint using zinc phosphate nanocrystals was researched and the experiment result showed that the salt atmosphere–resistant time was 158 h longer than that of zinc phosphate bulk materials on market. The performance of zinc phosphate nanocrystals with modified surface synthesized by one-step UTM assisted route was improved 63.2% compared with the bulk materials.

Abstract: Objective: The aim of this study is to explore the therapeutic effect of the PUMA gene mediated by ra- diation-inducible promoters in the treatment of ton- gue squamous cell carcinoma. Methods: Recombi- nant pcDNA3.1 (+)/E-PUMA was constructed, in which the PUMA gene was mediated by a synthetic radiation inducible promoter. The recombined plas-mids were transfected into the Tca8113 cell and xeno- grafts of human tongue squamous carcinoma in na- ked mice respectively. After 24 h, the tumors were tr- eated with 3 Gy of irradiation to upregulate the PU- MA gene expression. PUMA mRNA was detected by RT-PCR. Proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) and apoptosis were detected by immunohistochemi- cal method and in situ end-labeling (ISEL) respecti- vely. The data were analyzed using the SPSS11.0 soft- ware package for chi-square test. RESULTS: Com-pared with the control group, the comparative survi- val rate of Tca8113 cells in the PUMA/IR group was markedly decreased and the xenografts were signify- cantly suppressed. Up-regulation of PUMA gene ex- pression was observed in the Tca8113 cells and in the xenografts after irradiation. The apoptosis indices of the Tca8113 cells and xenograft with irradiation were markedly higher than those without irradiation. At the same time, the proliferation indices of the Tca- 8113 cells and xenografts with irradiation were mark- edly lower than those without irradiation. Conclu- sions: radiation-induc ible promoters can serve as molecular switches to improve the expression of PU- MA gene in tongue squamous cell carcinoma both in vivo and in vitro. Low-dose induction radiation can significantly improve therapeutic efficiency.
DNA 3D Self-assembly Algorithmic Model to Solve Maximum Clique Problem

Abstract: Self-assembly reveals the essence of DNA computing, DNA self-assembly is thought to be the best way to make DNA computing transform into computer chip. This paper introduce a method of DNA 3D self-assembly algorithm to solve the Maximum Clique Problem. Firstly, we introduce a non-deterministic algorithm. Then, according to the algorithm we design the types of DNA tiles which the computation needs. Lastly, we demonstrate the self-assembly process and the experimental methods which could get the final result. The computation time is linear, and the number of the distinctive tile types is constant.
