Nonlinear correlation receiver performance in UWB radio system
Milo?evi? Nenad,DimitrijeviBojan,Nikoli? Zorica
Journal of Automatic Control , 2006, DOI: 10.2298/jac0601017m
Abstract: The rejection of QPSK interference in a THPPM UWB system using complex adaptive filter and a nonlinear correlation receiver (NCR) with a soft-limiter will be considered in this paper. This system brings a significant performance improvement compared to the system which uses complex adaptive filter and a linear receiver, particularly in the case of high interference power, where its absence leads to the reception loss.
Rejection of PSK interference in DS-SS/PSK system using adaptive transversal filter with conditional response recalculation
Nikoli? Zorica,DimitrijeviBojan,Milo?evi? Nenad
Serbian Journal of Electrical Engineering , 2003, DOI: 10.2298/sjee0301103n
Abstract: PSK interference rejection using complex adaptive filter with conditional response recalculation in DS-SS/PSK system is considered in this paper. New adaptive filter decreases error probability for several orders of magnitude when compared to the standard adaptive transversal filter.
Effects of psychoactive substances on otorhinolaryngologic system
Bo?ovi? Milo?,Vra?ari? Aleksandra,Klepec Bojan,Dimitrijevi? Nina
SANAMED , 2011,
Abstract: Substance abuse is the most common group of diseases. Many studies indicate the wide distribution in the general population, which in some areas has epidemic proportions. They often have health, family, professional and social consequences. Especially significant is damage of otorhinolaryngological region, due to specific way of intake. The authors cite studies that indicate harmful effects of some psychoactive substances on the auditory and vestibular apparatus, the nose and paranasal sinuses, oral cavity, pharynx, larynx, and other organs of head and neck region. Authors described morphological and structural changes in this region and presented extreme consequences of the mucous membrane, blood vessels and bone, as well as effects of substances on teeth and gingivas.
Biocompatibility and antimicrobial activity of zinc(II) doped hydroxyapatite, synthesized by hydrothermal method
Radovanovi? ?eljko,Veljovi? ?or?e,Joki? Bojan,Dimitrijevi? Suzana
Journal of the Serbian Chemical Society , 2012, DOI: 10.2298/jsc121019131r
Abstract: In order to obtain multifunctional materials with good biocompatibility and antimicrobial effect, hydroxyapatite (HAp) doped with Zn2+ was synthesized by hydrothermal method. Powders with different content of zinc ions were synthesized and compared with undoped HAp to investigation of Zn2+ ion influence on the antimicrobial activity of HAp. Analyses of undoped and Zn2+-doped powders before and after thermal treatment at 1200oC were performed by SEM and XRD. Antimicrobial effects of powders were examined in relation to Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Candida albicans in liquid medium. The results showed that the obtained powders have good antimicrobial activity, but higher antimicrobial activities of powders doped with Zn2+ were observed after annealing at 1200°C. For powders annealed at 1200°C in vitro biocompatibility tests MTT and DET with MRC-5 fibroblast cells in liquid medium were carried out. Based on MTT and DET tests it was shown that powders do not have a significant cytotoxic effect, which was confirmed by SEM analysis of MRC-5 fibroblast cells after theirs in vitro contact with powders. Differences in Demographic Characteristics of Potential Acquirers of Real Estate Rights: Cases from Slovenia and Japan  [PDF]
Bojan Grum
Current Urban Studies (CUS) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/cus.2014.22011
Abstract:

The aim of the study was to explore the role of demographic characteristics of potential acquirers of real estate rights. We were interested in whether the participants according to different origins of cultures and the basic demographic characteristics reflect a statistically significant difference. Results show that the participants who enter the Japanese real estate market are mainly male participants, who are single and have no children, and show a tendency to live in the city centre. Participants of both sexes enter the Slovene property market equally. On average they are married, childless and with a tendency to live at the outskirts of the city or inside agglomeration. Slovene participants expressed significantly higher satisfaction with the current residential status, which we relate to the findings that apartment owners compared to tenants express higher satisfaction with their living environment and are socially more active in their living environment.

A Conceptual Framework for the Forklift-to-Grid (F2G) Implementation  [PDF]
Matjaz Knez, Bojan Rosi
Smart Grid and Renewable Energy (SGRE) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/sgre.2013.46052
Abstract: This paper focuses on presenting the current research findings on the “Vehicle to Grid” concept and proposes theoretical model of F2G integration in energy management of a warehouse. The study is based on an analysis of collected data and on model calculations of the economic value. Analyses of data, calculations of economic value and profitability of the proposed business model give positive results, which fully confirm the thesis that the integration of renewable energy sources and new modern technologies in the logistic processes can improve energy management.
Violence against women with disabilities
Dimitrijevi? Jelena
Temida , 2010, DOI: 10.2298/tem1002035d
Abstract: Research have shown that women with disabilities are among the most vulnerable members of our society. Also, research suggested that they are at the same or higher risk of victimization by psychological/ emotional, physical and sexual violence in comparison to women without disabilities. Often perceived as 'easy' target, they easily become victims of violence commited by strangers, but also by persons on whom they physically, emotionally or economically depend: husbands/ intimate partners, family members, friends, acquaintances, caregivers and the institution staff in which they have treatment and/or rehabilitation. Frequently, violence is repeated, while women, who are revictimized more than once, often for years, remain alone. Institutions and organizations which should offer help and support to victims of violence and crime in general, usually fail to respond effectively to needs of victims with disability. The subject of the paper is violence against women with disabilities, whereas purpose is to point out the scope of violence against women with disabilities in the world and region. The author has explored available research about these topic and in addition to the scope, also presented key characteristics of the violence and capability of mainstream services to respond to needs of women with disabilities who have experienced abuse.
Cancer epigenome: A review
Dimitrijevi? Bogomir
Archive of Oncology , 2005, DOI: 10.2298/aoo0504108d
Abstract: Cancer genomics that normally relies on mutational analysis of oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes has approached its inherent limits. This was not much of a surprise having in mind the genome dynamics and the resulting complexity of cancer phenotype and genotype. In response to this challenge, molecular genetics offered a new armory for the analysis of the genetic basis of cancer. This refers to the analysis of molecular features that regulate gene activity and the analysis of products of this activity. In the focus of tuning transcription is the methylation surveillance of the genome of the cell. Modification of proteins associated with chromatin and methylation of CpG sites in DNA was found to affect profoundly gene expression and is commonly termed epigenomics. Quantitative and qualitative characterization of the methylation profile of the cancer cell genome is formidable but necessary task with great potential for molecular pathology of cancer. There is little doubt that this line of research will add a great deal to the clinical practice and the basic science of oncology. The only question is how to make a large database large enough and how select the most reliable and sensitive technological approach with the highest throughput.
