Alves, Rubiane Diógenes;Souza, Tatyana Maria Silva de;Lima, Kenio Costa de;
Journal of Applied Oral Science , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S1678-77572005000400002
Abstract: the aim of this systematic review was to evaluate the effectiveness of titanium tetrafluoride as a preventive or cariostatic agent against caries. the databases used to find the articles analyzed were medline lilacs, and bbo. in medline and lilacs the search strategy utilized was "titanium" [words] and "tetrafluoride" [words] and spanish or english or portuguese [language], whereas in bbo "titanio" [words] and "tetrafluoreto" [words] and espanhol or inglês or português [language]. out of a total of 42 studies found, which assessed possible preventive/cariostatic effects of titanium tetrafluoride against caries in vivo, only 2 were selected. in both studies, titanium tetrafluoride was shown to be effective against caries. however, given that the quality and consequently the validity of these two clinical studies are questionable, their results do not allow to conclude that titanium tetrafluoride is effective against caries clinically.

Abstract: The purpose of the present research was to detect the DNA variations by Feulgen stained chromatin and the packing degree of the cervical chromatin in the clinical cases of human uterine carcinomas. Scanning microphotometry was carried out on slides prepared from block Feulgen-stained. Accurate control procedures were performed using normal human cell nuclei. The cervical cells was morphometric studied using the Image Lab System for citologic classification. The overall diagnostic accuracy for neoplasia type I (CIN I) and type II (CIN II), demonstrated by stain interpetration values of a sensitive detection of DNA neuroploidy and a significant difference between the two groups in scanning static cytophotometry.

Biotemas , 2010,
Abstract: Abundance, biomass, length, richness, diversity and equitability data were obtained to investigate the effect of lunar cycle and spatial-temporal variation on the ichthyofauna of the Joanes River estuary. 1,497 fish were captured, weighing 7,760g and belonging to 48 species of 22 families. The analysis of the community indicated no significant differences regarding the effects of the moon, although the waning moon was responsible for higher captures. The composition and structure of the ichthyofauna varied with the sediment type and mangrove vegetation, where more individuals and more species preferred the muddy sediment in areas with preserved marginal vegetation. Groupings based on the abundance data did not follow the temporal variations of a long period of time, but fish assemblages with similar niches in relation to the habitat use preferred certain areas according to the sediment type.
