Geometry Method for the Rotating Navier-Stokes Equations With Complex Boundary and the Bi-Parallel Algorithm

Abstract: In this paper, a new algorithm based on differential geometry viewpoint to solve the 3D rotating Navier-Stokes equations with complex Boundary is proposed, which is called Bi-parallel algorithm. For xample, it can be applied to passage flow between two blades in impeller and circulation flow through aircrafts with complex geometric shape of boundary. Assume that a domain in $R^3$ can be decomposed into a series sub-domain, which is called "flow layer", by a series smooth surface $\Im_k, k=1,...,M$. Applying differential geometry method, the 3D Navier-Stokes operator can be split into two kind of operator: the "Membrane Operator" on the tangent space at the surface $\Im_k$ and the "Bending Operator" along the transverse direction. The Bending Operators are approximated by the finite different quotients and restricted the 3D Naver-Stokes equations on the interface surface $\Im_k$, a Bi-Parallel algorithm can be constructed along two directors: "Bending" direction and "Membrane" directors. The advantages of the method are that: (1) it can improve the accuracy of approximate solution caused of irregular mesh nearly the complex boundary; (2) it can overcome the numerically effects of boundary layer, whic is a good boundary layer numerical method; (3) it is sufficiency to solve a two dimensional sub-problem without solving 3D sub-problem.

Abstract: : The contemporary western mainstream sex education models are “Abstinence -Only Sex Education” and “Comprehensive Sex Education”. Reflection of the two models’ practices in China reveals that Abstinence-Only Sex Education, by means of “moral bundling”, tend to employ the old morality to repress adolescents’ sexuality; Comprehensive Sex Education is inclined to the “sexual abetting” with indulgment in the teaching and adjustment of sexual knowledge and sexual psychology. To solve the practical difficulties between the two models, it is necessary to establish a new sex education model based on the morality which integrates the advantages of the two models. A novel method of measuring the positive-sequence capacitance of T-connection transmission lines is proposed. The mathematical model of the new method is explained in detail. In order to obtain enough independent equations, three independent operation modes of T-connection transmission lines during the line measurement are introduced. The digital simulation results and field measurement results are shown. The simulation and measurement results have validated that the new method can meet the needs of measuring the positive-sequence capacitance of T-connection transmission lines. This method has been implemented in the newly developed measurement instrument.

Fracture and Damage Behaviors of Concrete in the Fractal Space  [PDF]

Abstract: The fracture toughness, the driving force and the fracture energy for an infinite plate with a fractal crack are investigated in the fractal space in this work. The perimeter-area relation is adopted to derive the transforma-tion rule between damage variables in the fractal space and Euclidean space. A plasticity yield criterion is introduced and a damage variable tensor is decomposed into tensile and compressive components to describe the distinct behaviors in tension and compression. A plastic damage constitutive model for concrete in the Euclidean space is developed and generalized to fractal case according to the transformation rule of damage variables. Numerical calculations of the present model with and without fractal are conducted and compared with experimental data to verify the efficiency of this model and show the necessity of considering the fractal effect in the constitutive model of concrete. The structural response and mesh sensitivity of a notched unre-inforced concrete beam under 3-point bending test are theoretical studied and show good agreement with the experimental data.

Anycast Routing Protocol for Forest Monitoring in Rechargeable Wireless Sensor Networks

Abstract: In rechargeable wireless sensor networks (R-WSNs), sensors have to adjust their duty cycles continuously owing to sporadic availability of energy and operate in a very low duty cycle because of current energy conversion technical limitations. Even though the network lifetime is not the main problem, packet delivery latency is critical because a sensor is in the dormant state most of the time in R-WSNs. These unique characteristics pose a new challenge for routing protocol design over traditional energy-static sensor networks. In this work, we introduce a routing protocol based on anycast communications technology, a novel design to minimize packet delivery latency for forest monitoring in R-WSNs. The key idea is to let a sender choose a closest neighbor to forward packets from forwarding candidates and a nearest sink node to accept the packet from all sinks. For multiple source nodes, we introduce an anycast technology based on Tabu search for each source establishing a minimal E2E delay routing path to reach anyone sinks. Through extensive simulation and experiments, we demonstrate that our anycast scheme based on Tabu search is efficient to provide smallest packets delivery latency in R-WSNs. 1. Introduction Wireless sensor networks (WSNs), a promising technology, have been a topic of much interest to researchers due to their wide-ranging applications. For example, they have been used for military applications, environmental applications, health applications, and home applications [1, 2]. However, a fundamental problem in WSNs is the limited lifetime of sensor nodes. To this end, a significant amount of work has been carried out across the protocol stack to prolong the lifetime of WSNs. Examples of which include energy-efficient medium access control (MAC) protocols [3], duty-cycling strategies [4], energy-efficient routing [5], and topology control mechanisms [6]. Other examples can be found in [7, 8] and references therein. An interesting approach to extend the lifetime of sensor nodes is the use of energy harvesting, which refers to harness energy from the environment or other source. Sensor nodes will equip them with rechargeable technologies that convert sources such as body heat [9], foot strike [10], and finger strokes [11] into electricity, such as a rechargeable battery or an ultracapacitor [12]. The energy from surrounding environment is free, unlimited, and environment friendly. Abstract: Fifty-eight differentially expressed proteins were identified. Results demonstrated that some proteins which had functions in cytoskeleton organization, anti-oxidative stress, and stress response, showed different change patterns in abundance from chicken infected with the highly virulent ck/CH/LDL/97I P5 strain and those given the embryo-passaged, attenuated P115 stain. In addition, the dynamic transcriptional alterations of 12 selected proteins were analyzed by the real-time RT-PCR, and western blot analysis confirmed the change in abundance of heat shock proteins (HSP) beta-1, annexin A2, and annexin A5.The proteomic alterations described here may suggest that these changes to protein expression correlate with IBV virus' virulence in chicken, hence provides valuable insights into the interactions of IBV with its host and may also assist with investigations of the pathogenesis of IBV and other coronavirus infections.Coronaviruses (CoVs) are enveloped single-stranded positive sense RNA viruses that belong to the family Coronaviridae in the order Nidovirales. Abstract: Linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) was prepared byin situ polymerization using a dual-functional catalytic system containing Et(Ind)2ZrCl2/MAO and Ti(OnBu)4/AlEt3 used as co-polymerization catalyst and dimerization catalyst, respectively. The catalytic system showed high activity and the polymer with low melting point, narrow molecular weight distribution (MWD) and low crystallinity was produced.

Abstract: Anin situ polymerization method was investigated to prepare long-branched polyethylene (LBPE) with ethylene alone and a single cocatalyst, methylalumoxane (MAO), by using a dual functional catalytic system containing late transition metal oligomerization catalyst and metallocene copolymerization catalyst. The obtained longbranched polyethylene has the characteristics of low melting point, high activity and well-dispersed sequence distribution.

Abstract: Background. Eosinophilic angiocentric fibrosis (EAF) is a rare benign condition of unknown aetiology that causes stenosis of the upper respiratory tract. It is most commonly found at the nasal septum and sinus mucosa causing mucosal thickening and nasal obstructive symptoms. The diagnosis is mainly based on characteristic histologic findings. Case Report. A 27-year-old young woman presented with a slow growing mass at her anterior nasal septum for over eight years. She complained of persistent nasal obstruction, epistaxis, sometimes diffused facial pain, and chronic headache. 3 years ago, the tumor was partially resected for ventilation and a nasal septum perforation was left. Imaging findings indicated soft-tissue thickening of the anterior part of septum and adjacent lateral nasal walls. Pathological examination showed numerous inflammatory cells infiltrates containing eosinophils, fibroinflammatory lesion with a whorled appearance fibrosis which typically surrounded vessels. A diagnosis of eosinophilic angiocentric fibrosis was made. All laboratory tests were unremarkable. Skin prick test was positive. The tumor-like lesion was totally resected. Conclusions. EAF is a rare benign and progressive disorder causing destruction. Combined with radiological imaging of EAF historical findings contribute to the diagnosis. It is important to prevent tumor from recurrence by total resection of the lesion. 1. Introduction Eosinophilic angiocentric fibrosis (EAF) is a rare, benign condition of unknown aetiology which may cause local tissue progressive destruction [1]. It mainly involves the sinonasal tract and is especially common at the nasal septum. EAF typically presents in young to middle-aged females. Most of the patients complain of progressive sinonasal obstructive with a tumor-like lesion. The etiology of EAF is unknown, and the diagnosis is mainly based on histologic findings. The histologic features include perivascular inflammatory cell infiltration (mainly eosinophils). The eosinophils infiltration is gradually replaced by the progressive fibrosis lesion with “onion-skin” pattern around small blood vessels [1–6]. It was first described by Holmes and Panje in 1983 who reported a case of so-called ‘‘intranasal granuloma faciale” [7]. After two years, Roberts and McCann reported two female patients with an unusual stenosing lesion involving the upper respiratory. They gave a descriptive diagnosis according to the histologic findings: eosinophilic angiocentric fibrosis [8]. Until now, 51 patients diagnosed with EAF have been reported in the English
