Rural Judges and Territorial Organization in Río de la Plata (17th to 19th Centuries)  [PDF]
Darío G. Barriera
Beijing Law Review (BLR) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/blr.2016.71007
Abstract: This paper focuses on some traces of the challenge of the government of the dispersed population into a larger territory of the Spanish Monarchy throughout 16 - 19 century. The main subject is the creation and implementation of a minor justice: the “alcalde de la santa hermandad” (judge of the brotherhood). This rural judge appeared early at Santa Fe and Buenos Aires and plays like an articulator between urban and rural populations. Based on a large base of research, this work shows what was the role that the office holders allowed to play in the political process equipment planning at the Gobernación of Buenos Aires.
EURE (Santiago) , 2004, DOI: 10.4067/S0250-71612004008900005
Abstract: in many latin-american countries, the combination among neoliberal politics of adjustment, economic opening and transformations to political regimes, modify both economic geography and spatial conformation of institutions, political systems, social and corporative actors. colombia has also been affected by this redesign, that compromises the operation of its external and internal politics. the spatial effects of the economic opening combine with those of administrative, fiscal, and political process of decentralization, generating a tension on the geographical unit of the state. the consideration of these tendencies that have marked the paths of the economic, institutional, political, and social transformations since twenty years ago, indicate a probable way toward the regionalization of the country. will this regionalization be convenient for a more stable internal development and a favorable setting for a peace agreement based on a territorial distribution of the power, or will it be the promptest way to abandon each territory to its luck in the world competence, and to break the territorial unit of the colombian state? this is the question that is presented here
Abstract: analyses of hunter-gatherer lithic technologies from argentinean patagonia have been developed from ecological-economic perspectives, leaving aside the social and symbolic aspects that impacted technological organization. considering the analysis of projectile points of diverse ages from the patagonian plateaus, the visual aspect of these rocks, such as their color and brightness, is proposed as a non-exclusionary approach for the selection of the raw materials out of which they were manufactured. the proposed approach could open new interpretive paths for the region.
Bergel,Salvador Darío;
Acta bioethica , 2002, DOI: 10.4067/S1726-569X2002000200011
Abstract: the evolution of human genetics, from the fifties onwards, acted as a trigger for multiple fields, especially for those dealing with bioethics and law. many of the advances accomplished may touch human dignity and, at the same time, they impel the creation of new human rights. on the basis of these premises the author analyses the most significant impacts of the new genetics upon society: the danger of a new eugenism, genetic discrimination, manipulation of genetic information, problems derived from the investigation on the genome, the appropriation of human genetic material; indicating, in conclusion some paths to follow
Abstract: in this paper i consider the role of education poli-cies in redistribution of income when individuals differ in two aspects: ability and inherited wealth. i discuss the extent to which the rules that emerge in unidimensional settings apply also in the bidimen-sional setting considered in this paper. the main conclusion is that, subject to some qualifi cations, the same type of rules that determine optimal education policies when only ability heterogeneity is considered apply to the case where both parameters of heterogeneity are considered. the qualifi cations pertain to the implementation of the optimal alloca-tion of resources to education and not the way the optimal allocations fi rst- and second-best differ.
Abstract: we show partial results of the project linguistic identity and attitudes in spanish-speaking latin america, which reveal the preferences of spanish-speaking subjects from santiago de chile regarding the name of their own language: espa?ol (spanish), castellano (castilian), and others. in order to collect the data we have applied a direct survey to 400 subjects from this city, grouped according to sex, age and socio-economic status. we deem normative prestige as the main factor explaining the answers of an important number of the interviewees. these say that they use mainly espa?ol (spanish), while it is reasonable to assume that they use castellano (castilian) in their vernacular speech, according to various sources.
Abstract: the archeological heritage as a tourist resource. the case of the lower valley of the manso river, argentina. the use of archeological heritage as tourist resource is explored in this paper. particularly, the scope of effects derived from such use, as observed in a case research study, where an archeological site with rock art was included in a tourist circuit in argentine north patagonia.
Trabajo y sociedad , 2012,
Abstract: in the present article we reconstructed rodolfo walsh's research about the death of rosendo garcía, domingo blajaquis and juan zalazar that he published in seven notes in the weekly cgt between may and june in 1968. those notes are compare with his later publication of the research as a the book ?quien mató a rosendo? in may, 1969. we try to emphasize the differences between both formats and contexts because those differences allow as to relieve the critical political context in which they took place. the article underline of the worst approached investigations of walsh and put it in its context of the meanings of the division of the cgt and the peronism, considering that walsh had taken again his political militancy and had make his first links with one of the fractions of the peronism in dispute.
Lazo,Darío G.;
Ameghiniana , 2006,
Abstract: a taphonomic and sedimentary facies analysis of the pilmatué member of the agrio formation in central neuquén basin is presented to determine the time-averaging and degree of lateral transport of its macrofauna. the pilmatué member is characterized by abundant fossil concentrations dominated by benthic organisms such as corals, serpulids, bivalves and gastropods. stratigraphic occurrence of benthic elements was accurately dated by a refined ammonite zonation of the agrio formation. three sections were studied between chos malal and zapala (neuquén) situated on a north-south line of 44.2 km. five litofacies and nine taphofacies were defined. the depositonal system is interpreted as a storm influenced homoclinal shoreface to shelf environment. taphonomic analysis showed that most macrofaunistic associations are autochthonous or slightly parautochthonous with no significant lateral transport. census, within-habitat time-averaged and environmentally condensed assemblages were identified. time scales of fossil accumulation span from days-years up to 0.5 my. nearshore assemblages are less time-averaged than shelf assemblages as in modern settings.
Lazo,Darío G.;
Ameghiniana , 2007,
Abstract: a biofacies analysis based on benthic macrofossils was carried out. the study unit is the pilmatué member of the agrio formation in three sections in the neuquén province. six biofacies controlled by relative sea level changes, sedimentation rate, substrate consistency, oxygenation and salinity were recognised. the "cucullaea-mimachlamys-steinmanella biofacies" is highly diverse and recorded in a shoreface environment characterized by a well-oxygenated soft sandy and patchy bioclastic substrate, reduced siliciclastic input, normal marine salinity, and warm-temperate waters. the "coral colonies biofacies" is associated with the former biofacies, but in a more shallow setting and probably temperatures above 16o-18o c. the "cucullaea and steinmanella biofacies" occurred in an open shelf environment characterized by low water energy, reduced siliciclastic input, firm muddy substrate, and normal marine conditions. the "modiolus biofacies" also occurs on the shelf, but under low oxygenation. the "gregarious serpulids" and "gregarious oysters" biofacies correspond to an inner shelf setting characterized by an alternation of high and low water energy, low siliciclastic input, firm muddy substrate, well-oxygenated bottom, and mixo-euhaline conditions. the "cucullaea-mimachlamys-panopea" and "cucullaea and steinmanella" biofacies are related to changes of relative sea level in the scale of parasequences, while the "coral colonies", "modiolus", "gregarious oysters", and "gregarious serpulids" respond to changes in the scale of sequences.
