Integrating Environmental Considerations into Transportation Planning through Strategic Environmental Assessment
Ana-Maria CORPADE,Ciprian CORPADE,DanuPETREA,Ciprian MOLDOVAN
Journal of Settlements and Spatial Planning , 2012,
Abstract: The present article analyzes the concept of strategic environmental assessment (SEA) and its role in the development of local transportation strategies and plans, investigating how SEA acts as an effective tool to integrate environmental issues into transportation planning. The paper provides with useful advice for local authorities on how to comply with the European and national legislation requirements in the environmental permitting process for transportation plans. At the same time, it points out useful information for practitioners in the field of the strategic environmental assessment in the elaboration of the Environmental Report, as the key factor in SEA procedure.
Digital Control of Boost PFC Converter Working in Discontinuous Conduction Mode
PETREA, C.
Advances in Electrical and Computer Engineering , 2007,
Abstract: This paper describes a complete design of a digital controller using the tools of the Matlab program, for a boost PFC converter working in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM). The converter works at a 100 kHz switching frequency and the AC line input voltage is about 230 Vrms. We have used two methods for the controller design: "digital redesign" and "direct digital design". The simulation resulted from the design are also described.
THE BROWNFIELD OF P DUREA NEAGR (CRI UL REPEDE VALLEY)
Rodica PETREA,D?nu? PETREA,Valentin NEME?
Transylvanian Review of Administrative Sciences , 2011,
Abstract: The presence and management of abandoned industrial sites (brownfields), which cover large areas of land in the Cri ul Repede Valley Territorial Planning Unit, is a great challenge. Of the many abandoned industrial sites, the glass factory of P durea Neagr was selected in order to highlight the peculiarities of a certain typology of territorial occupation and use, which is representative for the studied area. The whole abandoned area was reserved entirely for the glass factory, which now finds itself in an advanced stage of degradation. As a peculiarity, one remarks that it is surrounded by the neighboring secondary homes, an area in full expansion. The industrial zone covers a significant part of the built-up area of the village (21%), preventing the development of the territory in question, while at the same time it creates an aesthetic disability for the small community which has only the perspective of tourism development. The revitalization of the community can be achieved through the rehabilitation/conversion of the industrial area, as a valid alternative to the inevitable urban expansion, as it will have a positive impact on the development of tourism. There are many destinations which could be gained as a result of the rehabilitation, but the most appropriate destination would be a multifunctional center of creation, accompanied by a small glass museum and a workshop that would produce small-scale traditional glasswork, for tourism purposes.

Annals of the University of Oradea : Economic Science , 2010,
Abstract: The components of demo-social macroeconomic level but especially in the continental context were decisive action on both exponents of the supply and the demand; the businessman need to know features, character and effects of these variables on the functionality they produce while the European market and national. From the range of the demo-social components, I referred to the social classes, the reference groups, the area of residence, taking into consideration reality that these components carries on business in general, particularly on the consumer, a long-term determination so, their knowledge as fair provides managers can develop policies and strategies consistent with these conditions.

Abstract: The dimensions of this global economic crisis, spread across all the variables of the global economy, develop and multiply in time and space. The effects of this quantitative and qualitative trends are found in the country risk, an indicator that summariz
CAUSAL RELATIONS BETWEEN NATURAL RISK AND BUSINESS RISK
Danu Marcela-Cornelia
Annals of the University of Oradea : Economic Science , 2010,
Abstract: After a period marked by economic and financial crisis, the objectives and the priorities focused on restoring the balances, the correlations and the proportions of macroeconomic policy makers have focused attention to optimizing the relationship between man and nature. The environmental crisis installed affects the variables of the global economy system and compared with the economic crisis, its consequences are more perennial, more complex and dangerous. Environmental crisis management is based on truthful, complete and current informations regarding the interdependencies between natural risk and business risk within the system of risks that accompany our individual and societal existence.

Risk of Competition in Crisis Conditions
Marcela-Cornelia DANU
Annals of Dun?rea de Jos University. Fascicle I : Economics and Applied Informatics , 2009,
Abstract: For many types of risk affecting the economic existence of firms, risk ofcompetition is among the most important, both in terms of the gravity andintensity and the spread in space and time. In the context of the global economiccrisis, - economical, financial, social, image problems etc. encountered by theeconomic entities are responded through the engage of the companies in thecompetitive game using various strategic alternatives. The competitive gameinvolves: understanding the nature of the competitive strategy, the demarcationof their playing field, the competition analysis and the competitive decisioncommitment. Implicit, the new conditions created field of manifestation of theanticompetitive behavior on the various world markets, increasing the inherentrole of the decision makers in the competition policy.
Effective models for the magnetization behavior of Shastry-Sutherland model
Brijesh Kumar,Bimla Danu
Physics , 2014,
Abstract: The minimal effective model for the magnetisation plateaus below 1/2 in the Shastry-Sutherland model is derived to be an Ising model of certain unit-cell hard-core bosons with anisotropic repulsive interactions on isosceles triangular lattice. It unambiguously gives the prominent plateaus at 1/8, 1/6, 1/4, 1/3 and an additional one at 3/8, related through a particle-hole (p-h) transformation. The Dzyaloshinsky-Moriya (DM) interaction dresses it up with an inhomogeneous transverse field that also causes p-h asymmetry due to an in-plane component of the inter-dimer DM vector. This explains the asymmetry between the magnetisation below and above 1/4 in SrCu$_2$(BO$_3$)$_2$. The effective model above 1/2 plateau is an XXZ model with stronger XY parts. It gives no magnetisation plateaus, but exhibits chiral order.
