Vaccimonitor , 2012,
Gutiérrez,Ramón;
Apuntes: Revista de Estudios sobre Patrimonio Cultural - Journal of Cultural Heritage Studies , 2007,
Abstract: the jesuits in america occupied peripheral areas and zones with a high risk of warlike conflicts with indians or other european powers. the consolidation and defense of territories was as important as the evangelic duty. in the case of chiloé -isolated because of its location in the extreme south of the continent, because of its island-like characteristics and because of the impassable border formed by the indians- the jesuits organized in the course of the 18th century a fantastic spatial network with their "circular missions" which allowed them to consolidate aboriginal communities in settlements around a chapel that was visited once a year and whose religious duties were led for the rest of the year by a "fiscal" appointed from the community itself. the "selection of the best" -mechanism which was inherent in the pedagogical criteria of the compa?ía de jesús- was developed from the castro school and was applied to this empirical evangelization system. although the chapels have been renovated, the network still shows the vitality of this way of organizing religion in the everyday life of the chiloé communities. the work of the jesuits in chiloé is a distinctive feature as strong as the geography and the "seaside" settlement characteristics, and leaves a singular mark in the local culture. it also is an exceptional way of evangelization compared to other jesuit experiences on the continent.

Abstract: Calpains are non-lysosomal calcium-activated neutral proteases involved in a wide range of cellular processes including muscle proteolysis linked to post-mortem flesh softening. The aims of this study were (a) to characterise several members of the calpain system in gilthead sea bream and (b) to examine their expression in relation to nutritional status and muscle tenderisation. We identified the complete open reading frame of gilthead sea bream calpains1-3, sacapn1, sacapn2, sacapn3, and two paralogs of the calpain small subunit1, sacapns1a and sacapns1b. Proteins showed 63–90% sequence identity compared with sequences from mammals and other teleost fishes, and the characteristic domain structure of vertebrate calpains. Transcripts of sacapn1, sacapn2, sacapns1a and sacapns1b had a wide tissue distribution, whereas sacapn3 was almost exclusively detected in skeletal muscle. Next, we assessed transcript expression in skeletal muscle following alteration of nutritional status by (a) fasting and re-feeding or (b) feeding four experimental diets with different carbohydrate-to-protein ratios. Fasting significantly reduced plasma glucose and increased free fatty acids and triglycerides, together with a significant increase in sacapns1b expression. Following 7 days of re-feeding, plasma parameters returned to fed values and sacapn1, sacapn2, sacapns1a and sacapns1b expression was significantly reduced. Furthermore, an increase in dietary carbohydrate content (11 to 39%) diminished growth but increased muscle texture, which showed a significant correlation with decreased sacapn1 and sacapns1a expression, whilst the other calpains remained unaffected. This study has demonstrated that calpain expression is modulated by nutritional status and diet composition in gilthead sea bream, and that the expression of several calpain members is correlated with muscle texture, indicating their potential use as molecular markers for flesh quality in aquaculture production.

Abstract:

In this paper we present the nonlinear optical characterization of Au/Pd nanoparticles in order to obtain the nonlinear refractive indices using the Z-scan technique. The experiments were performed using a 514 nm laser beam Ar+, with 14 Hz of modulation frequency, as excitation source. By using a lens the excitation beam was focused to a small spot and the sample was moved across the focal region along the z-axis by a motorized translation stage. Seven samples with different concentration ratio of Au/Pd nanoparticles were prepared by simultaneous reduction of gold and palladium ions in presence of poly (N-vinyl-2-pirrolidone) (PVP) using ethanol as a reducing agent. In this work, we report the application of the Z-scan technique, to generate optical transmission of laser light as a function of the z position for solutions containing bimetallic nanoparticles of Au (core)/Pd (shell) with average sizes ranging from 3 to 5 nm. The magnitude of the obtained nonlinear refractive index was in the order of 10?8 cm2/W. Our results show that the nonlinear refractive index has a nonlinear behavior when the (Au/Pd) ratio was increased.

Abstract: Small and peripheral populations are typically vulnerable to local extinction processes but important for the metapopulation dynamics of species. The Slender-billed gull (Chroicocephalus genei) is a long-lived species breeding in unstable ephemeral coastal habitats. Their Western Mediterranean populations are relatively small and represent the edge of their global geographical distribution. At a local scale, using long-term data (14 years) on annual breeding success and capture-resights of marked individuals, we estimated and compared the vital rates and evaluated the connectivity of two Spanish populations (Ebro Delta and Do?ana) varying in their local environmental conditions. At a metapopulation scale, we analyzed 22 years of data on breeding numbers to predict their future prospects by means of population demographic models. Local survival and breeding success of gulls from the Ebro Delta was lower than those from Do?ana, which is likely the result of higher permanent emigration and/or winter mortality in the former. Gulls from the Ebro Delta wintered mostly in Mediterranean areas whereas those from Do?ana did so in Atlantic coasts, where food availability is higher. Whereas adult local survival was constant, juvenile local survival showed temporal parallel variations between colonies, probably related to natal dispersal to other breeding colonies. Our results suggested that dispersal was higher at the Ebro Delta and gulls emigrating from their natal colonies settled preferentially in close patches. We found large fluctuations in breeding numbers among local populations probably related to the fact that the Slender-billed gull is a species adapted to unstable and unpredictable habitats with high abilities to disperse between suitable patches depending on environmental stochastic conditions during breeding.

Abstract: the present work deals with the procedural requirement of capacity in its relation with the legal status of "personality", especially regarding juridical persons. traditionally, personality has been understood as a capacity requirement in the judicial process; nevertheless, this conception has been questioned by the fact that sometimes personification is ignored as a condition to be a party before a court.
EL PRESUPUESTO PROCESAL DE LA CAPACIDAD EN LAS PERSONAS JURíDICAS, EN ESPECIAL LAS DE DERECHO PúBLICO. THE PROCEDURAL REQUIREMENT OF CAPACITY IN MORAL PERSONS, ESPECIALLY THOSE OF PUBLIC LAW

The present work deals with the procedural requirement of capacity in its relation with the legal status of "personality", especially regarding juridical persons. Traditionally, personality has been understood as a capacity requirement in the judicial process; nevertheless, this conception has been questioned by the fact that sometimes personification is ignored as a condition to be a party before a court.
Abstract: The crises are a perennial problem of the society. In the crises, what is in crisis is the insufficiency in the way of being related people among if, and with the objects of their culture, to sustain their association. The crises interrogate us about the social sustainability. We could be entering in the tendency toward a fundamental crisis of global social unsustainability. From her, The Ethics of Society is interpellated. Thus, It remain open the question: Will be possible the coexistence in the global crises society, without the pivot of a global justice? As colateral and unavoidable effect of the crises, sociology and the social sciences, are facing a crisis of theoretical synchronization; regarding the knowledge and understanding of the crises of their time in their time.
