Abstract: Pathogen associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) recognized by host cell surface localized pattern-recognition receptors (PRRs) are pathogen conservation molecules. So far, a few pairs of characterized PRR/PAMP in plants provided useful models to study the specificity of ligand-binding and likely activation mechanisms. For example, recognition models of FLS2-flagellin, EFR-Tu (EF-Tu), CEBiP/CERK1-chitin and XA21-Ax21 have been extensively studied. The perception between PRR and PAMP triggers immune response (PTI) to resist pathogens. However, to successfully grow and proliferate on their hosts, virulent pathogens had to override the PTI, for which, these pathogens evolved a variety of strategies, such as injecting effector proteins into the plant cell or sequestering their PAMPs. Based on the knowledge on the interaction of PRR-PAMP, researchers are trying to engineer PRRs ( chimeras of PRRs) to develop new strategies in molecular breeding for achieving durability and a broad-spectrum disease resistance. We reviewed the recent findings about recognitions of PRRs-PAMPs, the engineered PRRs, and discussed the future prospects and several issues in researches on PTI.
On the classification of fractal squares

Abstract: In \cite{LaLuRa13}, the authors completely classified the topological structure of so called {\it fractal square} $F$ defined by $F=(F+{\mathcal D})/n$, where ${\mathcal{D}}\subsetneq\{0,1,\dots,n-1\}^2, n\ge 2$. In this paper, we further provide simple criteria for the $F$ to be totally disconnected, then we discuss the Lipschitz classification of $F$ in the case $n=3$, which is an attempt to consider non-totally disconnected sets.
Association between NADPH Oxidase p22phox C242T Polymorphism and Ischemic Cerebrovascular Disease: A Meta-Analysis

Abstract: Background Epidemiological studies have evaluated the association between nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH) oxidase p22phox C242T polymorphism and risk of ischemic cerebrovascular disease (ICVD), but the results remain inconclusive. This meta-analysis was therefore designed to clarify these controversies. Methodology/Principal Findings Systematic searches of electronic databases Embase, PubMed and Web of Science, as well as hand searching of the references of identified articles and the meeting abstracts were performed. Statistical analyses were performed using software Review Manager (Version 5.1.7) and Stata (Version 11.0). The pooled odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (95%CIs) were performed. Fixed or random effects model was separately used depending on the heterogeneity between studies. Publication bias was tested by Begg's funnel plot and Egger's regression test. A total of 6 studies including 1,948 cases and 2,357 controls were combined showing no statistical evidence of association between NADPH oxidase p22phox C242T polymorphism and overall ICVD (allelic model: OR = 1.08, 95%CI = 0.93–1.26; additive model: OR = 1.33, 95%CI = 0.81–2.17; dominant model: OR = 1.00, 95%CI = 0.86–1.15; recessive model: OR = 1.06, 95%CI = 0.77–1.45). Significant association was found in large-artery atherosclerotic stroke subgroup (allelic model: OR = 1.12, 95%CI = 0.88–1.41; additive model: OR = 1.36, 95%CI = 0.60–3.09; dominant model: OR = 1.25, 95%CI = 0.74–2.11; recessive model: OR = 2.17, 95%CI = 1.11–4.23). No statistical evidence of significant association was observed for small-vessel occlusive stroke, as well as Asian subgroup and Caucasian subgroup. Statistical powers on the combined sample size (total and subgroup) were all lower than 80%. Conclusions/Significance This meta-analysis indicates that NADPH oxidase p22phox C242T polymorphism is more associated with large-artery atherosclerotic stroke than small-vessel occlusive stroke. However, this conclusion should be interpreted with caution due to the small sample size. Larger sample-size studies with homogeneous ICVD patients and well-matched controls are required.

Abstract: 利用直径为60厘米的球形液体闪烁探测器测量了Pu240自发裂变放出瞬时中子数目v的几率分布Pv,其结果可用一宽度为σ=1.08的高斯分布表示。我们将测量结果与B.C.Diven,A.Hicks和J.W.Boldeman的结果进行了比较,我们的结果与J.Terrell半经验理论计算的高斯分布很好符合。根据文献5]中给出Pu240自发裂变瞬时中子平均数v=2.154±0.028,得到球形液体闪烁探测器记录Pu240自发裂变中子的效率为0.759±0.011。

Abstract: This paper discusses the mirror image interference in direct digital waveform synthesis. The formation and distribution characteristics of mirror images are illuminated, and the impact of sampling rate which brings mirror image interference is analyzed. Based on these, the condition of sampling rate which results in mirror image interference is concluded and proved by experiment. The conclusion provides new theoretical basis on sampling rate selection in digital waveform synthesis.

Abstract: The time-delay and the packet-dropout in networked control systems (NCSs) affect the stability of the control system. Hence, the traditional dynamic matrix control (DMC) controller is no longer suitable in the networked environment. To deal with this problem, we designed an improved dynamic matrix controller (DMC), in which the uncertain time-delay is transformed to the fixed time-delay by two buffers. An updating method for the step-response coefficient is put forward to handle the effect of time-delay on controller. The entire control sequence is transmitted in one time to eliminate the required updating for control data when packet-dropout is occurred. Furthermore, the stability problem of the improved DMC system is investigated and a sufficient condition considering the information of time-delay and packet-dropout is established. By using a real-time simulation software, we illustrate how to determine the maximum tolerable time-delay and packet-dropout for a given example. Results validate the proposed algorithm.
