Frontiers in Plant Science , 2011, DOI: 10.3389/fpls.2011.00017
Abstract: Abscisic acid (ABA) and Gibberellic acid (GA) play key roles in regulating seed dormancy and germination. First, when examining germination of different rice cultivars, we found that their germination timing and dormancy status are rather distinct, coupled with different GA/ABA ratio. Second, we studied genomic sequences of ABA and GA dormancy- and germination-associated genes in rice and discovered single nucleotide polymorphisms and insertions/deletions (Indels) in both coding and regulatory sequences. We aligned all these variations to the genome assemblies of 9311 and PA64s and demonstrated their relevance to seed dormancy both quantitatively and qualitatively based on gene expression data. Third, we surveyed and compared differentially expressed genes in dry seeds between 9311 and PA64s to show that these differentially expressed genes may play roles in seed dormancy and germination.
"universe collapse model" and its roles in the unification of four fundamental forces and the origin and the evolution of the universe  [PDF]
Jiapei Dai
Natural Science (NS) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/ns.2012.44030
Abstract: To unify the four known fundamental forces and provide an explanation for the origin and the evolution of the universe are two long-term goals of theoretical physics. Here a “universe collapse model” has been proposed. The universe consists of Matter and No-matter. No-matter is the universal energy that constructs a consistent universe field, presenting a spiral wave motion at the speed of light at the small scale. The partial collapse of the universal energy forms the particles of the universal energy in a variety of sizes, which are called as the elementary particles. These elementary particles form atom and matter, which construct the galaxies. The collapse of the universe field induces the formation of the universe collapse potential (UCP) and universe collapse force (UCF), and the later is represented by four different aspects of the fundamental forces at the large or small scales. The mathematical equation and the derivation of UCP and UCF are described, and possible experimental tests are also suggested. Therefore, this new model may give a novel explanation for the unification of four fundamental forces and the origin and the evolution of the universe.
Research on Influencing Factors of Executive Compensation in China’s Monopoly Industries  [PDF]
Yun Dai
Open Journal of Business and Management (OJBM) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/ojbm.2014.23026
Abstract: The annual salary income of the executives in the state-owned monopoly industry has become the focus of the society recently. With the improvement of enterprise efficiency, executives deserve to get high pay. However, it’s should be noted that because of the state-owned monopolies’ special status, business performance relies heavily on administrative monopoly power, but not actually the efforts of leaders. In this case, the income distribution mechanism is distortion, which has caused great dissatisfaction. This paper aims to study the main affecting factors of the executive compensation of state monopolies, with 1280 firm-year observations of 183 monopoly companies. We find that 1) Executive compensation is positively correlated to firm performance, firm size, CEO duality; 2) Executive compensation is negatively correlated to state share proportion and independent director proportion; 3) Company location, industry both have significant influence on executive compensation.
Macroscopic anisotropic Brownian motion is related to the directional movement of a “Universe field”  [PDF]
Jiapei Dai
Natural Science (NS) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/ns.2014.62009
Abstract:

Brownian motion was discovered by the botanist Robert Brown in 1827, and the theoretical model of Brownian motion has real-world applications in fields such as mathematics, economics, physics and biology. It is the presumably random motion of particles suspended in a liquid or a gas that results from their bombardment by fast-moving atoms or molecules, but the exact mechanism of Brownian motion still remains one of the unresolved mysteries in physics. Here circadian and seasonal changes in long-term macroscopic anisotropic (asymmetric) Brownian motion of a toluidine blue colloid solution in water in two dimensions were identified, suggesting that such an anisotropic Brownian motion may be related to an effect of the directional movement of “Universe field”, and thereby providing new interpretations and potential applications of Brownian motion.

The Conceptual Model of Influencing Factors and Influencing Mechanism on Team Decision-Making Quality Mediated by Information Sharing  [PDF]
Peihua Dai
iBusiness (IB) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/ib.2013.54015
Abstract:

Searching for the influencing factors on team decision-making quality is the hot issue in academic circles and business circles. Based on summarizing the main influencing factors on team decision-making quality, this thesis divides the main influencing factors into team composition factors and team process factors and researches the internal relationship between them. Targeted at the field decision making, this thesis analyzes the influencing process of the main factors on decision-making quality, and constructs the conceptual model of “influencing factors-information sharing-decision-making quality”. This model not only combines the main influencing factors correctly, but also exposes the “black box” between the influencing factors and decision-making quality in field decision making, which can make up for no relative research for the field decision making in the previous studies.

Abstract: DOI, Digital Object Identifier, has been pervasively applied in digital information resources overseas and becomes an international standard, while in China it’s still on the initial stage. This article discusses the application of DOI in the digital publication of Chinese sci-tech journals, and analyzes the problems, such as inadequate attention, lack of engagement, unsatisfactory application and so on, as well as the countermeasures. Giving the lifting effects of DOI on the digitalizing and networking of Chinese sci-tech journals, journal articles should be registered on DOI for the display degree and citation rate.
An Experimental Research on the Equalization of Basic Public Services in Huizhou City  [PDF]
Jiali Dai
Open Journal of Social Sciences (JSS) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/jss.2016.44024
Abstract: In April 2012, the government of Guangdong Province selected Huizhou City as the first pilot city of this province to further promote comprehensive reform on the equalization of basic public services. Under the policy background, this paper selects pilot city, namely Huizhou, as an experimental research object, and selects three core indicators of the foundational education, social insurances and medical and health services to analyze. Specifically, this paper introduces governmental policies and security standards, and uses statistical analysis and coefficient of variation method to calculate and compare the index data for each county (district) of Huizhou City from 2008 to 2014. Overall, by studying current situation of the equalization of basic public services, we know the government of Huizhou has innovatively established a series of policies and measures and made considerable achievements in the process of implementation. Many coefficients of variation of indicators have declined after pilot project. But among the basic public services, the medical and health service develops slowly and it is serious unequal. The construction of medical and health service has become the bottleneck of the equalization of basic public services. Finally, according to the medical problem, the corresponding countermeasures are put forward.
Quality Assessment of Training Data with Uncertain Labels for Classification of Subjective Domains  [PDF]
Ying Dai
Journal of Computer and Communications (JCC) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/jcc.2017.57014
Abstract: In order to improve the performance of classifiers in subjective domains, this paper defines a metric to measure the quality of the subjectively labelled training data (QoSTD) by means of K-means clustering. Then, the QoSTD is used as a weight of the predicted class scores to adjust the likelihoods of instances. Moreover, two measurements are defined to assess the performance of the classifiers trained by the subjective labelled data. The binary classifiers of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Zhengs are trained and retrained by the real-world data set, utilizing the support vector machine (SVM) and the discrimination analysis (DA) models, so as to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. The experimental results show that the consistency of likelihoods of instances with the corresponding observations is increased notable for the classes, especially in the cases with the relatively low QoSTD training data set. The experimental results also indicate the solution how to eliminate the miss-labelled instances from the training data set to re-train the classifiers in the subjective domains.
Spiral Wave Law Is Involved in the Unification of Four Fundamental Forces and the Origin and the Evolution of the Universe  [PDF]
Jiapei Dai
Natural Science (NS) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/ns.2017.99029
Abstract:
A long-term goal of theoretical physics is to develop a single simple theory or model that would unify the four known fundamental forces (or interactions) and give explanations for the origin and the evolution of the Universe. Here a “spiral wave law” has been proposed based on the previous studies that a consistent universe field presents various forms of spiral (helical) wave motions at the speed of light (c), and therefore, a mathematical equation for the relationship between the radius of a spiral wave motion (r) and its wave length (λ) is derived including a simplified formula (\"\" or \"\"), which could provide a novel explanation for the origin and the evolution of the Universe, and the space-time relationships. This model may give a new way for the unification of four fundamental forces and determine the moving properties of galaxies and basic particles, and the propagation characteristics of electromagnetic waves at the large or small scale.
