Association analysis between SNPs of the growth hormone gene and antler production in spotted deer

Abstract: We report the effects of candidate gene growth hormone (GH) gene on antler production in the current study. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of the GH gene were identified and genotyped by polymerase chain reaction followed by single strand conformation polymorphism (PCR-SSCP) analysis and DNA sequencing in a deer population from the farm of Jilin Agricultural University. Correlation analysis between GH polymorphisms and antler production was carried out using the appropriate mixed model. Results showed an effect of GH gene on antler production. Deer with the SNP genotypes G-->A had a significant difference in antler production of the fifth saw (P<0.2). BB deer had a higher antler pro-duction than AA ones (P<0.2).

Abstract: The IXP2400 network processor with powerful comuting ability made MPLS and MPLS VPN possible.The paper provided the key technology and micro-code of MPLS VPN,and achieved flexible and effcient MPLS VPN with low cost by dispatching task to micro engines and processing flexibly the data packets.The primary characteristic of the design is that it supports L2 and L3 VPN at the same time and the micro-code is very concise.The experiments show the MPLS VPN works properly and are compatible with mainstream network devices.

Abstract: To solve the security and efficiency issues of mobile Ad hoc networks, this paper presented an efficient multi-path mutual anonymous source routing M2ASR which originated from the protocol DSR and provided anonymity by modifying the work flow of routing discovery of protocol DSR and adopting label switches like what used in MPLS, so multi-path anonymous routing can be used in large-scale wireless networks. Meanwhile, combined with node forwarding and multi-path, the algorithm IDA was used in the protocol for the first time so the communication efficiency of Ad hoc networks was greatly enhanced and it is showed by theoretical analysis and simulation.

Abstract: Assembly of the flexible dicarboxylic ligand 4-[2-(4-carboxyphenyl)-1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoropropan-2-yl]benzoate and 4,4′-bipyridine as co-ligand with AgI ions resulted in the formation of the polymeric title compound, {[Ag(C10H8N2)](C17H9F6O4)}n, in which the metal atoms are bridged by the 4,4′-bipyridine ligands, generating cationic chains extending along [010]. The dihedral angles between the benzene rings in the anion and the pyridine rings in the cation are 72.42 (9) and 9.36 (10)°, respectively. The molecular conformation of the anion is stabilized by intramolecular C—H...F hydrogen bonds. In the crystal, the anions interact with the cationic chains via C—H...O hydrogen bonds, forming layers parallel to (001), in which weak π–π stacking interactions [centroid–centroid distances = 3.975 (3)–4.047 (3) ] involving the pyridine rings of adjacent 4,4′-bipyridine ligands are present. The planes are further assembled into a three-dimensional network by O—H...O hydrogen bonds.

Abstract: Cocrystallization of 4-amino-3,5-bis(2-pyridyl)-1,2,4-triazole (2-bpt) with hemimellitic acid (benzene-1,2,3-tricarboxylic acid) dihydrate (H3HMA·2H2O) produces the supramolecular title compound, C12H10N6·C9H6O6·2H2O. Intermolecular N—H...N hydrogen bonds are observed between the terminal pyridyl and amino groups of the 2-bpt molecule and the dihedral angles between the central ring and the pendant pyridine rings are 3.4 (7) and 13.8 (7)°. In the structure, homosynthons of graph set R22(8) are observed to form centrosymmetric H3HMA dimers, which are extended into a two-dimensional supramolecular layer via intermolecular O—H...N and C—H...O hydrogen bonds and π–π stacking interactions [centroid–centroid distance = 3.541 (3) ]. In addition, interlayer uncoordinated water molecules connect the layers through O—H...O hydrogen bonds, generating a three-dimensional network.
Energetics and electronic structure of a single copper atomic chain wrapped in a carbon nanotube: a first-principles study

Abstract: In the generalized gradient approximation, the energy and electronic structure are investigated for a single copper atomic chain wrapped in (4, 4), (5, 5) and (6, 6) armchair carbon nanotubes by using the first-principles projector-augmented wave potential within the framework of density functional theory. The results show that the (4, 4) and (5, 5) tubes are too narrow to wrap a Cu chain, but the (6, 6) tube is nearly ideal to wrap a Cu chain on its centre axis. Wider tubes are anticipated to wrap more than one Cu chain spontaneously with forces amounting to a fraction of a nanonewton. Although the tube--chain interaction decreases with the increase of the tube diameter of (4, 4), (5, 5) and (6, 6) successively, the charge density of the Cu@(6, 6) combined system still does not show complete superposition of that of the pristine (6, 6) tube and Cu chain. Successively reducing the restrictions of (4, 4), (5, 5) and (6, 6) tubes on the Cu chain leads to a reduction in shift of the highest peak of the Cu chain towards lower energies, that is from -0.5177~eV of the isolated Cu chain to -1.36785~eV, -0.668~eV and -0.588~eV for the Cu@(4, 4), Cu@(5, 5) and Cu@(6, 6) systems, respectively. In reverse, the strong metallic character of the Cu chain also enhances the metallic character of the combined systems so that the broader pseudogaps of the pristine carbon nanotubes around the Fermi level change into the narrow pseudogaps of the combined systems.

Abstract: 以丙烯酰胺为聚合单体,钙基膨润土为主要原料,采用钠化改性及水溶液聚合连续工艺合成了系列复合膨润土,对其进行了表征,并考察了丙烯酰胺的溶出量和对Pb2+的吸附性能. 结果表明,丙烯酰胺在膨润土层间发生了插层聚合,复合膨润土为片层结构,稳定性较好. 复合膨润土对Pb2+的吸附量高于粉末膨润土和钙基复合膨润土,且吸附量随膨润土含量增加而增加,膨润土含量为90%的钠基复合膨润土对Pb2+的吸附量可达118.35 mg/g,吸附符合Lagergren二级动力学模型.
The Effect of p38MAPK on Cyclic Stretch in Human Facial Hypertrophic Scar Fibroblast Differentiation

Abstract: Hypertrophic scars (HTS), the excessive deposition of scar tissue by fibroblasts, is one of the most common skin disorders. Fibroblasts derived from surgical scar tissue produce high levels of α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) and transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1). However, the molecular mechanisms for this phenomenon is poorly understood. Thus, the purpose of this study was to evaluate the molecular mechanisms of HTS and their potential therapeutic implications. Fibroblasts derived from skin HTS were cultured and characterized in vitro. The fibroblasts were synchronized and randomly assigned to two groups: cyclic stretch and cyclic stretch pre-treated with SB203580 (a p38MAPK inhibitor). Cyclic stretch at 10% strain was applied at a loading frequency of 10 cycles per minute (i.e. 5 seconds of tension and 5 seconds of relaxation) for 0 h, 6 h and 12 h. Cyclic stretch on HTS fibroblasts led to an increase in the expression of α-SMA and TGF-β1 mRNA and protein and the phosphorylation of p38MAPK. SB203580 reversed these effects and caused a decrease in matrix contraction. Furthermore, HTS fibroblast growth was partially blocked by p38MAPK inhibition. Therefore, the mechanism of cyclic stretch involves p38 MAPK, and its inhibition is suggested as a novel therapeutic strategy for HTS.
Correlation analysis between MC3R and MC4R gene polymorphism and growth traits in pigeon

Abstract: The SNPs in partial coding sequence of MC3R and MC4R genes were identified by polymerase chain reaction followed by single strand conformation polymorphism (PCR-SSCP) analysis and DNA sequencing in shack-Kee and Columba domestica from Harbin area. Correlation analysis between MC3R and MC4R polymorphism and growth and body composition traits was carried by the least square analysis. The genotypes of T91G mutation in MC3R gene and A903G mutation in MC4R gene proved to have significant association with body weight, carcass weight, and holo-carcass weight in shack-Kee (P<0.05). The interaction of MC3R-T91G and MC4R-A903G was discussed through combination genotype analysis. The least square analysis showed that the combined genotype had significant association with holo-carcass weight (P<0.05). Multiple comparisons revealed that BBAA genotype birds had a higher holo-carcass weight than AABB genotype birds and BBAA genotype was the beneficial genotype for the growth of body weight.

Abstract: 为了明确紫外线(UV-B)辐射对红色型和绿色型豌豆蚜生物学特性的影响, 本研究将2种不同色型豌豆蚜的初生若蚜经过40 W UV-B波段紫外线每日照射30 min, 在3种温度梯度(16 ℃、20 ℃、24 ℃)和2种苜蓿品种“甘农3号”和“甘农5号”条件下, 在人工气候箱中单头饲养, 测定各个处理豌豆蚜的发育历期、体质量差和相对日均体质量增长率等生物学参数。结果显示: 在“甘农3号”上, 16 ℃时, 在UV-B辐射对2种色型豌豆蚜的发育历期、体质量差和日均体质量增长率均无显著影响(P>0.05); 在20 ℃时, UV-B辐射下红色型豌豆蚜的发育历期显著延长(P<0.05), 相对日均体质量增长率也显著减少(P<0.05), 体质量差无显著变化(P>0.05); 而在24 ℃时, UV-B辐射下绿色型豌豆蚜的发育历期显著延长(P<0.05), 体质量差和相对日均体质量增长率也显著减少(P<0.05)。在“甘农5号”上, 在16 ℃时, UV-B辐射下红色型豌豆蚜的发育历期显著延长(P<0.05), 体质量差和相对日均体质量增长率也显著减少(P<0.05); 在20 ℃和24 ℃时, UV-B辐射绿色型豌豆蚜的发育历期显著延长(P<0.05), 体质量差和相对日均体质量增长率也显著减少(P<0.05)。由此可知, UV-B辐射对豌豆蚜的影响与温度和苜蓿品种均密切相关。
