MULTIPLE REGRESSION PREDICTING LUNG CANCER BASED ON RISK FACTORS-A CASE STUDY FOR THE INDUSTRY
MIHAELA DUMITRU,MIRELA PRAISLER,LAURA REBEGEA,DOREL FIRESCU
Journal of Engineering Studies and Research , 2012,
Abstract: The objective of this study is to determine a multivariate model able to perform the identification of the tumor stage and of the histopathological type for lung cancer patients, based on predictive environmental and behavioral factors. The database was built by using clinical and personal information about 106 patients with stage III or IV lung cancer and a mean age of 58 years, who were subjected to radiotherapy at the Radiotherapy Department of "Sf. Ap. Andrei" Emergency Clinical Hospital between January and December 2010. The following factors were taken into consideration: work conditions, smoking habits and duration of the exposure to risk factors. Most of the patients (43.33%) have worked in metallurgy for a mean of 27.54 years and 86.67% have smoked for a mean period of 26.92 years. The duration of smoking and the habit of smoking itself were identified by multiple linear regression as the most important predictive factors for tumor stage and for the histopathological type, respectively. Artificial intelligence techniques were used and the results have indicated that tobacco use and the environmental factors related to the work place (e.g. metallurgical industry) are the best predictive risk factors for the incidence of lung cancer.
POSSIBILITIES AND LIMITATIONS OF THE ACCOUNTING POLICIES IN THE REPORTING OF FINANCIAL REPORTING
VICTORIA FIRESCU,MIHAELA ZAHARIA (CRIVAC)
Lucr?ri ?tiin?ifice : Management Agricol , 2009,
Abstract: Due to the globalization and financialization of economies, the classic financial reporting, articulated in the accounting concepts no longer meet the expectations of various categories of users. The admitted accounting principles often generate distortions that deform economic reality. Moreover, the diversity of accounting practices makes the financial analysis approach more difficult, especially in the case enterprises of different nationalities.
A generalization of a contraction principle in probabilistic metric spaces. Part II
Dorel Mihe
International Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences , 2005, DOI: 10.1155/ijmms.2005.729
Abstract: A fixed point theorem concerning probabilistic contractions satisfying an implicit relation, which generalizes a well-known result of Hadžić, is proved.
ALEGEREA MIJLOACELOR DE COMUNICARE

Studia Universitatis Vasile Goldis Arad, Seria Stiinte Economice , 2011,
Abstract: In the material bellow are presented promotional materials that can be used for theadvertising of organizations, products and services offered by them. Also there aredisplayed the advantages and disadvantages of each one. There is a wide range ofcomunication mediums, that can be used by the organizations that wish to promote theirown products and services. These include external mediums of comunication: the printedpress, television, radio, cinematografy, and also internal means like direct corespondence. An efficient comunication program of an organization takes notice of the strenghts ofcertain products and services, promotes the brand and creates and edge for the organization. The comunication medium that the organization chooses depends on budget, the targetedaudience and chosen objectives.
Economic Politics, between Individual Interest and Public Interest
Dorel Ailenei
Theoretical and Applied Economics , 2006,
Abstract: According with A. Smith “by pursuing his own interest individual frequently promotes that of society more effectually than when he really intends to promote it.” But what is the passing way from individual interest to public interest? If there is such a way then there is a strong base for economic policy. We intent to analyse the modality of passing from individual interest to group interest and forward to public interest. But, what is the nature of public interest?
On Identification of Transmission Channels for Sonar Based Applications
Dorel Aiordachioaie
Memoirs of the Scientific Sections of the Romanian Academy , 2011,
Abstract: Impulse response function and time delay estimation from the impulse response signal are considered. The work is looking from the sonar based applications point of view, where the time difference between transmitted pulse and received echo is important for target and object detection and recognition. Two steps are considered: identification of the sonar channel (air), by impulse response signal and, second, estimation of the time delay from the shape of the identified impulse response. The results are at the level of other previous works and create the motivation to implement these algorithms in practice.
On Estimation Of The Orientation Of Mobile Robots Using Turning Functions And SONAR Information
Dorel AIORDACHIOAIE
Annals of Dunarea de Jos , 2003,
Abstract: SONAR systems are widely used by some artificial objects, e.g. robots, and by animals, e.g. bats, for navigation and pattern recognition. The objective of this paper is to present a solution on the estimation of the orientation in the environment of mobile robots, in the context of navigation, using the turning function approach. The results are shown to be accurate and can be used further in the design of navigation strategies of mobile robots.
Building Similarity Maps Of The Environment Using SONAR Information For The Navigation Of The Mobile Robots
Dorel AIORDACHIOAIE
Annals of Dunarea de Jos , 2003,
Abstract: The objective of the work is to present a representation called similarity map based on some results in the evaluation of the SONAR system of a mobile robot. As environment a corner of our lab it is considered. Based on some reference positions, where the robot is making a complete rotation, some test positions are considered with the task of recognition of the environment, in order to be able to recognize the position. Using similarity measures based on Euclidian distance, similarities maps are defined and estimated. The results are useful in defining complex strategies of navigation using SONAR systems.
On Activity modelling in process modeling
Dorel Aiordachioaie
Annals of Dunarea de Jos , 2001,
Abstract: The paper is looking to the dynamic feature of the meta-models of the process modelling process, the time. Some principles are considered and discussed as main dimensions of any modelling activity: the compatibility of the substances, the equipresence of phenomena and the solvability of the model. The activity models are considered and represented at meta-level.
REZULTATE ALE IMPLEMENTARII PROGRAMULUI PHARE 2001 PRIVIND POLITICA DE DEZVOLTARE REGIONALA A REGIUNII 7 CENTRU DIN ROMANIA
Dorel URSU
Revista Transilvan? de ?tiin?e Administrative , 2006,
Abstract: This paper tries to critically assess the way in which the 2001 PHARE Program, by means of non-reimbursable grants, managed to contribute to the regional development policy of the Center Region (Romania) between 2000-2004. The paper comprises an overview of Romania’s Regional Development Policy and the structures involved in implementing this policy in reference to the Center Region. This brief overview focuses on a description of the region, its goals and its strategy. The paper analyzes the development goals and the strategic priorities set forth by the Regional Development Agency for the Center Region. The aim of this endeavor is to evaluate the accomplishment level of the proposed strategies. The final part of the paper assesses the achievements of the projects contracted by Center Region from 2001 PHARE Program and some recommendations are made to attain the proposed objectives.
