Substitution of Deoxyinosine as Universal Base in Oligonucleotides for DNA Ligation  [PDF]

Oligonucleotides libraries have been developed for various applications, but the library size of oligonucleotide increases dramatically with the addition of oligonucleotide length. To assess the possibility of shortening library size by using universal base, deoxyinosine (dITP), the effect of single/multiple dITP substituted in oligonucleotide on ligation was investigated. It was found that different pairs with dITP had different ligation patterns and pairs with dITP at different locations also showed different ligation patterns. With the departure of substitution position from ligation site, the ligation yield increased. Single dITP substitution at ligation site did extremely hurt the ligation efficiency, except for I:C pair. On the other hand, single substitution at two bases or more apart from ligation site, there is no obvious effect on ligation. Multiple dITP substitutions can more or less affect the ligation, besides I:C pair. This research demonstrated that dITP can be applied to reduce oligonucleotide library size after substitution.

Abstract: The traditional generalized Ohm’s law in MHD (Magnetohydrodynamics) does not explicitly present the relation of electric currents and electric fields in fully ionized plasma, and leads to some unexpected concepts, such as ``the magnetic frozen-in plasma'', magnetic reconnection etc. In the single fluid model, the action between electric current and magnetic field is not considered. In the two-fluid model, the derivation is based on the two dynamic equations of ions and electrons. The electric current in traditional generalized Ohm's law depends on the velocities of the plasma, which should be decided by the two dynamic equations. However, the plasma velocity, eventually not free, is inappropriately considered as free parameter in the traditional generalized Ohm's law. In the present paper, we solve the balance equation that can give exact solution of the velocities of electrons and ions, and then derive the electric current in fully ionized plasma. In the case ignoring boundary condition, there is no electric current in the plane perpendicular to the magnetic field when external forces are ignored. The electric field in the plane perpendicular to magnetic field do not contribute to the electric currents, so do the induced electric field from the motion of the plasma across magnetic field. The lack of induced electric current will keep magnetic field in space unaffected. The velocity of the bulk velocity of the plasma perpendicular to magnetic field is not free, it is decided by electromagnetic field and the external forces. We conclude that the bulk velocity of the fully ionized plasma is not coupled with the magnetic field. The motion of the plasma do not change the magnetic field in space, but the plasma will be confined by magnetic field. Due to the confinement of magnetic field, the plasma kinetic energy will be transformed into plasma thermal energy by the Lamor motion and collisions between the same species of particles inside plasma. Because the electric field perpendicular to magnetic field do not contribute electric current, the variation of magnetic field will transfer energy directly into the plasma thermal energy by induced electric field. The heating of plasma could be from the kinetic energy and the variation of magnetic field.

Abstract: We derive the viscous current in the fully ionized two-fluid plasma to generate the solar magnetic field. The global magnetic field of the Sun can be simulated by the viscous current from the differential rotation inside the Sun. The field presents a structure with 6-polar. As the viscous current is very weak, the magnetic field intensity is only about G, which could be considered as the background field of the Sun. The theory is a start for the generation of solar magnetic field. The local strong magnetic field of the Sun is not considered in the paper.

Abstract: Since the Reform and Opening-up in China, the rapid development of China’s economy has lasted for nearly forty years. As the basic units of economic activity, Chinese enterprises also continue to grow. Especially in recent years, the enterprises have become increasingly scientific and standardized. However, the “Officer Standard”, residual product of thousands of years of Chinese feudal society and the centralization consciousness in culture, leads to organizational polities existing in various organizations. Moreover, the inevitable contradiction between the scarcity of resources and the multiplicity of interests aggravates intrigue and calculation. As a subjective understanding and evaluation of the degree of Self-Interest behaviors of other people in the organization, perception of organizational politics has been proved to have an important impact on the attitude and behavior of employees. As a heated research topic of active organization behavior, work engagement may be affected by the perception of organizational politics of the staff, and has a profound influence on the organization's vitality and development. Based on the Chinese cultural background, this research theoretically studies the relationship among the perception of organizational politics, perceived organization support, organizational commitment and work engagement. We adopt the method of literature research and go over the related research results systematically. At the same time, we put forward the theoretical model of this study by employing Conservation of Resources theory and Social Exchange theory. Our research result has indicated that the perception of organizational politics is negatively related to work engagement, in which organizational commitment plays a mediating role and perceived organization support plays a regulating role.
Genome wide exploration of the origin and evolution of amino acids

Abstract: In this study, we statistically monitored the frequencies of 20 alpha-amino acids in 549 taxa from three kingdoms of life: archaebacteria, eubacteria, and eukaryotes. We found that the amino acids evolved independently in these three kingdoms; but, conserved linkages were observed in two groups of amino acids, (A, G, H, L, P, Q, R, and W) and (F, I, K, N, S, and Y). Moreover, the amino acids encoded by GC-poor codons (F, Y, N, K, I, and M) were found to "lose" their usage in the development from single cell eukaryotic organisms like S. cerevisiae to H. sapiens, while the amino acids encoded by GC-rich codons (P, A, G, and W) were found to gain usage. These findings further support the co-evolution hypothesis of amino acids and genetic codes.We proposed a new chronological order of the appearance of amino acids (L, A, V/E/G, S, I, K, T, R/D, P, N, F, Q, Y, M, H, W, C). Two conserved evolutionary paths of amino acids were also suggested: A→G→R→P and K→Y.The origin of life arising from either proteins or nucleic acids has been argued for nearly half century. Putting the "Chicken or Egg" question aside, there exist some unsolved problems. Which amino acid(s) appeared first in the prebiotic environment? What cause the different usage of amino acids in modern organisms? To address these questions, a number of hypotheses and theories, e.g. mutation drifts and natural selection, have been proposed. Multiple factors, such as genetic codes, physicochemical properties, mutation-selection equilibrium, amino acid biosynthesis, etc, are likely related to the variation of amino acid usage in organisms [1,2]. Magma flow inferred from magnetic fabrics in Wanning gabbro pluton and diabase dykes, Hainan

Abstract: Measurements of anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility (AMS) were performed on a gabbro pluton and 7 diabase dykes in the Wanning area, southeast Hainan Island. Rock magnetism showed that pseudo-single domain (PSD) to multidomain (MD) Ti-poor magnetite carries the magnetic fabric in the gabbro pluton whereas MD Ti-poor magnetite carries the magnetic fabric in the diabase dykes. The corrected anisotropy degree (P j ) in most specimens was found to be less than 1.2 which is indicative of a possible flow-related magnetic fabric. The AMS eigenvectors within each site are generally well grouped. The maximum susceptibility axes (K 1) of the gabbro pluton are inclined towards the north at low angles (< 30°). K 1 axes of the diabase dykes are inclined towards the NNW and SSE with dip angles of 30°. From this study, it appears that the emplacement mode of the gabbro pluton was characterized by intrusion from the north to the south at a low angle whereas the diabase dykes were emplaced from the NNW to the SSE at low to moderate angles. This was verified by comparison of the rock fabric to the magnetic fabric. All of this evidence leads to the conclusion that the Wanning gabbro pluton and diabase dykes were the products of pulsative intrusion from the same magma chamber in the area far to the north of Wanning, which suggests that basic rocks may exist beneath the Indosinian granite in the area to the north of Wanning.

Abstract: 本文提出了一种应用于软件无线电系统中无线发射机模块的,带通道滤波的多模式sigma-delta数模转换器。其转换频率、数字滤波器和sigma-delta调制器的传输函数,IDAC的位数和模拟重建滤波器的带宽都可以通过数字编程以满足WCDMA、TD-SCDMA和GSM协议的要求。芯片利用中芯国际0.13-μm CMOS工艺实现,有效面积为0.72mm2。在1.2V供电电压下,WCDMA/TD-SCDMA/GSM模式测试得到的功耗和SFDR分别为5.52/4.82/3.04 mW和62.8/60.1/75.5 dB。

MAEB: Routing Protocol for IoT Healthcare  [PDF]

Healthcare is one of the most promising applications of Internet of Things. This paper describes a prototype for the IoT healthcare systems. We propose the Movement-Aided Energy-Balance (MAEB) routing protocol. The movement and energy information of the neighbor Coordinators are collected and stored in the neighbor discovery procedure. The MAEB forwarding is used to select the most suitable neighbor to forward the data. The simulation results show that the proposed protocol has better performance than the other three routing protocols.

Abstract: Age is a very important variable in second language acquisition. For years, the effect of age in SLA (second language acquisition) is a disputable topic in the field of linguistics. However, the dispute focuses more on theoretical basis rather than the research of substantial evidence. Therefore, we have made a quantitative survey on the students’ scores (11 times) from junior 1 to senior 2 (5 years) in the middle school by analyses between those (over 30 students) who have learned English for 3 years in the primary school and those (about 400 students) who have not. Finally we come to the conclusion that the idea of “the younger, the better” in FLL (foreign language learning) should be doubted. Key words: Age variable; CPH; Optimal age
