Physicochemical Characterization of Photoelectrodes of Ti/TiO2 Prepared by Thermal Oxidation of Titanium  [PDF]
Marcos M. Pedemonte, Alberto L. Capparelli
Energy and Power Engineering (EPE) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/epe.2015.79038
Abstract: The preparation and study of supported TiO2 for photocatalytic application in solar cell devices is a relevant research field. Thin films of TiO2 prepared on Ti by thermal oxidation in a wide range of temperatures (450°C - 900°C) were characterized by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, potentiometry and amperometry. This material presents photoelectrochemical activity, which depends dramatically of the oxidation temperature and the exposition time at the studied temperatures. The flatband potential as well as the donor density and the resistance to the charge transfer were measured. All these parameters are temperature dependent, and the optimal values are observed on the photoelectrodes prepared at 750°C. This result is consistent with the photochemical response reported in the literature for thin films of Ti/TiO2 prepared under similar conditions.
Enfermedad coronaria aneurismática severa en un adolescente con angina de esfuerzo secundaria a enfermedad de Kawasaki no diagnosticada previamente Severe aneurisma I coronary artery disease probably caused by Kawasaki disease. Report of one case

Revista médica de Chile , 2007,
Abstract: We report a 16 year old male with a history of angina on exertion. A treadmill exercise test was positive for ischemia in concordance with a Thallium-201 scintigraphy showing a septal and infero-posterior reversible myocardial perfusión defect. Coronary angiography disclosed severe aneurysmal coronary artery disease. Bilateral internal mammary coronary artery bypass grafting was successfully performed. Kawasaki disease is the most likely etiology, although not confirmed

Abstract: angiomyolipoma (aml) is a benign clonal neoplasm that consists of varying amounts of mature adipose tissue, smooth muscle, and thick-walled vessels. approximately 20% of amls are found in patients with tuberous sclerosis syndrome (ts), an autosomal-dominant disorder characterized by mental retardation, epilepsy, and adenoma sebaceous, a distinctive skin lesion. massive retroperitoneal hemorrhage from aml, also known as wunderlich's syndrome, has been found in up to 10% of patients and represents the most significant and feared complication. the presence of even a small amount of fat within a renal lesion on ct scan (confirmed by hounsfield unit?s ≤10) is considered diagnostic of aml. intervention should be considered for larger tumors, particularly if the patient is symptomatic, taking into account patient age, comorbidities, and other related factors. a nephron-sparing approach, via either partial nephrectomy or selective embolization, is clearly preferred. we present the case of a fifty-nine-year old patient with an angiomyolipoma and massive retroperitoneal hemorrhage with lenk syndrome.
El reconocimiento en el otro: autoafirmación y acción comunicativa en personas en extrema exclusión
Rojas Pedemonte,Nicolás;
Polis (Santiago) , 2008, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-65682008000100007
Abstract: this article analyzes, in the light of a qualitative research, how a group of homeless orient themselves towards their constitution as social actors. we investigate those relational aspects that, in profound social exclusion conditions, emerge as collective action articulators. thus, it is discovered in them a potential to transform their surroundings and environment and their own lives, insofar as they recognize each other as legitimate others and rights holders. ultimately, there is a need for an approximation of their life experiences in sociological recognition of their dialogic and reflexive competences which permits self assertion as subjects.

Tracking the dynamic variations in a social network formed through shared interests
Gerold Pedemonte,May Lim
Science Diliman , 2009,
Abstract: We tracked the dynamics of a social network formed by a shared interest in movies. Users-, movie ratings-, and rental date-data from the Netflix Prize dataset were used to construct a series of date-filtered social networks, wherein viewers were linked when they rented the same movie and gave the same rating. We obtained a nearly constant high clustering coefficient (0.60 – 0.85), and a low average path length (1.4 – 2.3) indicating a static 'small-world' network despite the dynamic behavior of the borrowers.
