Justi?a penal autoritária e consolida??o do estado punitivo no Brasil
Pastana, Débora;
Revista de Sociologia e Política , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-44782009000100008
Abstract: the brazilian democratic transition, still underway today, has run up against enormous difficulty in incorporating penal action. or, put in yet stronger terms, we could say that the boundaries of democratization processes, delineated through the action of that sector of the state, reveal the possibility that the juridical field remains immune to democratizing change. although prevailing discourse among law professionals asserts that penal justice is undergoing democratization, what we have observed in practice is a strong resistance within the juridical field to assuming political responsibilities within the consolidation of democracy. this article reports analyses and conclusions formulated through observation of the brazilian penal justice system that gave origin to the thesis entitled "penal justice in brazil today: democratic discourse, authoritarian practice". the research sought to reflect on contemporary criminal justice policy, which has been guided by the widening of repression and the continued use of incarceration. such policy, carried out in brazil since the beginning of the 1985 "political opening" has adjusted itself to the liberal project that is also currently underway in the country, as well as in almost the entire western capitalist world. as we can observe, penal justice, even during the execution of sentences, operates in authoritarian and exclusive ways, suppressing the rights guaranteed by law to those who have been sentenced and adopting extremely repressive forms as demonstrated by the extremely sparse benefits that it concedes. thus, in brazil, criminality has generally been responded through severe sentences, reflected in the absence of guarantees of constitutional rights and ample recourse to incarceration. in this vein, our contemporary democratic governments have frequently adopted a punitive stance that seeks to reaffirm the state's aptitudes for punishing and controlling criminality.

Abstract: This article reports analyses and conclusions formulated from comments about Brazilian Justice and that they had given to origin the thesis Criminal Justice in Current Brazil: Democratic speech - practical authoritarian. More than mere coexistence, there is the need to subdue thedemocratic ideal to authoritarianism. This democracy, evidenced in Brazil after the political opening that occurred in 1985, he fits the liberal project also underway in the country and in virtually all the capitalist West.

Abstract: the objective of this study was to reconstitute the history of the creation of the nursing undergraduate course at the medical sciences school, university of campinas, occurred in 1978, through an unofficial history, due to the insufficiency of pertinent documental sources. nurses who participated directly and actively in this process were the subjects of the research. the school of nursing, legally planned since 1966, was never established. to answer to the minimum necessary organization, it was instituted only one department of nursing, four years after the beginning of the course. the interest and the initiative to establish the course started from a titled nurse, outside of the university, hired specifically for this purpose. this fact explains the personal trace, not very institutional, that characterized in a predominant way the moment of creation and continuity of this course.

Mello, Débora Falleiros de;Lima, Regina Aparecida Garcia de;
Revista Latino-Americana de Enfermagem , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-11692009000400022
Abstract: this reflective study aimed to present some aspects of the concepts technical attainment, practical success and practical knowledge, with a view to a broader understanding of child nursing care. health care is considered in the perspective of reconstructive practices, characterized as contingencies, highlighting the importance of the connection between technical attainment and practical success and the valuation of practical knowledge, based on philosophical hermeneutics, in the context of practical philosophy. child health nursing can deal with technical attainment and practical success jointly, and also understand practical knowledge in the longitudinality of care. health promotion, disease prevention, recovery and rehabilitation of child health should be indissociably associated with contextualized realities, shared between professionals and families, aiming to follow the child's growth and development, produce narratives, identify experiences, choices and decision making to broaden health care.
