Abstract: A área de avalia o de programas e projetos sociais relaciona-se a diferentes campos do conhecimento, cada qual contribuindo com conceitos, indicadores e uma amplitude de técnicas de aplica o. Este artigo apresenta um breve histórico da área de avalia o e discorre sobre a avalia o no contexto internacional e seu processo de institucionaliza o no campo social brasileiro, apontando a amplitude de conceitos que a caracterizam e discutindo algumas das contradi es em sua implementa o junto às políticas públicas. S o apresentadas classifica es organizativas quanto aos principais tipos de avalia o que se destacam na literatura, problematizando a quest o dos diferentes usos da avalia o e discutindo a necessidade de que sejam propostas novas metodologias que proporcionem a participa o dos usuários. Abstract Social program and project’s evaluation area is related to different fields, each contributing with concepts, indicators and a range of application techniques. This article presents a brief history of the evaluation area and discusses its international stage and its process of institutionalization in the Brazilian social field. It indicates a range of concepts that characterize the field and discusses some of the contradictions in its implementation with public policies. Organizational classifications are shown on the main evaluation approaches, as highlighted in literature, problematizing evaluation’s different uses and discussing the need for new methodologies to provide user’s participation.

Abstract: the article presents a literature review on juvenile delinquency, aiming at discussing its concepts and etiology. it addresses both risk and protective factors which adolescent offenders are exposed to. two theoretical models about the origin and development of juvenile delinquency are presented. similarly, a discussion on socio-educational measures and life projects as protective factors that can promote greater social integration is carried out. it was possible to verify,, among other aspects, the need and importance for actions and programs driven both to prevention and treatment of these adolescents.
Exposi??o à violência em adolescentes de diferentes contextos: família e institui??es

Abstract: this study verified the frequency of the exposure to domestic and community violence, on 946 adolescents with ages ranging from 12 to 19 years old (m = 15.42; sd = 1.67), who were from different contexts: with their families (g1); young offenders who were deprived of freedom (g2); and adolescents living in shelters (g3). they completed the brazilian youth questionnaire. findings indicated that adolescents of g3 showed higher levels of exposure to domestic violence and adolescents of g2 were more exposed to community violence. furthermore, the females were the most frequent victims in all contexts. the importance of preventing the youth exposure to violence is highlighted, as well as promoting interventions with adolescents who live in shelters because this group seems to be the most vulnerable.
Estratégias de coping e estilo atribucional de crian?as em eventos estressantes

Abstract: this study investigated coping strategies, defined as cognitive and behavioral efforts to deal with stressful situations, and the attributional styles utilized by 8-10 year-old children. the children were interviewed and their responses led to the identification of 100 stressful events, the strategies they employed to deal with theses events, and their causal attributions for the events. the results indicated that the strategies children used more often to deal with conflict were to look for social support and aggressive actions. as an alternative strategy, the children indicated a preference for direct action. distraction was the main strategy to deal with emotions elicited by the event. direct action, avoidance, and acceptance strategies were more used in situations involving conflicts with adults, while aggressive actions and seeking social support were more frequent in situations involving peers. no significant differences were identified between coping strategies and attributional styles. the results of this study support the hypothesis that coping strategies are not dispositional and that they seem to be determined by the context of the event

Abstract: the objective of this article is to discuss the characteristics of mothers of children who are victims of sexual abuse, covering aspects such as emotional reconciliation, multigenerational characteristics and maternal reactions to the disclosure. child sexual abuse is considered to be a public health problem and its consequences have been a focus of interest of many researchers. however, few studies have been devoted to exploring the maternal characteristics involved in this complex cycle of violence. in general, mothers of sexually abused children are not depicted as perpetrators of the abuse, but in some way they find themselves involved, either as victims of or witnesses to this situation. on the other hand, many factors influence the mothers' reactions when faced with the revelation of the abuse, such as the perceptions of the social support service and the mothers' personality traits, amongst others. research has demonstrated the continuity of violence from generation to generation, pointing to the need for longitudinal studies on child sexual abuse.

Abstract: this article presents a theoretical revision and a critical discussion, from a clinical case, about resilience concept in the hospitalization context. scielo and bvs-psi based the literature review. resilience, as individual capacity to face risk situations in a healthy way, presenting adaptive answers to adversities, it is an important concept to be understood by health professionals. analyzing sickness during hospitalization period in general hospitals, allows a better understanding of facilitating conditions to resilience and open possibilities for prevention work and health promotion in these institutions.

Abstract: this paper describes a program of sex education under development in the preschool creche francesco zacaro faraco, ufrgs, during the last five years. this activity has involved preschool teachers, personnel from the psycology and pedagogy departaments, parents and preschool children, aged between 5 and 6 years, integrating families and the university. the theoretical concepts supporting the work, the organization of the pedagogical project on education, and the repercussion on the community are presented and discussed.

Abstract: the aim of this article is to discuss the process of disclosure and reporting of cases of sexual abuse involving children and adolescents, based on the analysis of publications related to that topic. studies suggest that the disclosure and reporting of sexual abuse is a difficult moment for the victims and their families because it usually involves someone close to the child. it provokes changes in the family system, such as disruption of ties, guilt and loss in financial support. several factors that may facilitate or inhibit the disclosure and reporting of sexual abuse are discussed such as the mother's reaction. it is highlighted the importance of an integrated work in the service that deals with these situations, involving the victims care, in the forwarding of the processes and in the strengthening of the supporting network for families.

Abstract: meditation, characterized as the training of full attention to the consciousness of the present moment, has been associated with greater mental, emotional and physical well-being. this study aimed at investigating how practitioners of the passive meditation - silent and sitting - perceive the impact of their training on their daily lives. a total of 105 participants, whom had been going to a meditation center in the city of porto alegre for at least one month, answered an open question investigating how meditation reflects on their lives. through content analysis six categories representing the effects of meditation were identified: cognitive, emotional, physical, spiritual, social and others. through poisson regression some factors associated with the categories identified were observed. it has been concluded that the subjective experience of meditation can influence life in many ways, especially concerning cognitive and emotional benefits, and that this practice could be a tool for a healthy psychological development.

Abstract: the child and adolescent statute determines that all children and adolescents have the right to live in a family and community environment. the defense, guarantee and promotion of this right have happened through governmental and non-governmental programs, through one of the services provided by the brazilian social assistance, called special social protection. the goal of this article is to discuss about public policies that guarantee such right through programs which aim family reunification and preservation. the brazilian law goals to attend of children and adolescents at vulnerability conditions, and there are programs towards this population, although they still are scarce. thus, this paper discusses the importance of creating programs that focus on this population and their families, as well as training professional staff to enable such work, in order to ensure that the right to live in a family and community environment is kept.
