The “vision with” André: narrator and narrative focus in Lavoura arcaica
Cristiane Fernandes da Silva
Via Litterae , 2011,
Abstract: This paper presents an interpretation of the novel Lavoura arcaica, by Raduan Nassar, regarding the elements narrator and narrative focus. It aims to investigate how the discourse produced and controlled by the narrator's memory as a productive source builds the organization of the text. From the standpoint of narratology, this paper demonstrates how André, the main character, manipulates and leads the narrative through the characterization of time, space and characters ughout. Throughout the work were used the theories of Genette on categories of narrator and time, of Bachelard into space, and finally that of Pouillon for the characterization of narrative focus.
A gest?o de si na reinven??o das normas: práticas e subjetividade no trabalho
Silva, Cristiane A. Fernandes da;

Abstract: the factory floor of metallurgy is not a tailor-made environment nor it standardizes gestures and labor procedures. it is made by workers whose daily performance consists, simultaneously, in the self-management. although the factory has official strict operational norms for safety and quality, workers manage all these elements according to their psychological and physical needs, and choices of value. the approach presented in this article views workers as subjects, because it does not restrict individuals to task-makers, but rather as people that can interfere with guidelines, adjusting them to their needs. this attitude of workers, who may follow orders in a slightly different way, has significant results in their subjectivity since they try to conciliate their personal and cultural choices with the demands and production orders. the present analysis is based on the ergological perspective and on empirical findings taken from interviews conducted with workers from five metallurgies in the city of s?o paulo. both, the theoretical and empiric side, commune efforts to show the activities of shop floor on a perspective that is distant from that of pure performance by operators with operations standardized exogenously. these activities are, in fact, re-formulated, sometimes they are even reinvented, and, consequently, they are used by workers/subjects who re-normalize their environment and, whenever possible, they make their work actions singular according to their own corporal, subjective, appreciated and symbolic uses.

Abstract: This study aims at discussing the implementation of Problem Based Learning (PBL) in activities carried out in a first grade high school class. The analysis of soil was used as a didactic tool capable of facilitating student teaching and learning, and as a way for understanding the environment that surrounds them, aiming at achieving three main goals: to acquire knowledge, to develop skills, and attitudes. During the activities,?it was noticed a great student involvement with the activities, especially in the practical ones. In that sense, it was concluded that it is important to work with active methodologies, which are able to increase interest and motivation in the students. Thus, through a thematic approach,?it is possible to raise students’ critical awareness.

Abstract: the legumes used for green manure have been introduced in agricultural systems for recovering degraded soils by intensive use. the objective of this work was to evaluate the response of herbaceous legumes to liming and p application on dry matter and its nutritional efficiency. the experiment was developed in greenhouse at the soil science department of the federal university agricultural of amazon (brazil). soil used was a dystrophic yellow latosol, sampled in the 0 - 20 cm depth. a randomized block experimental design was used with treatments arranged in a factorial 33, comparing three legume species: velvet bean (stizolobium atterrimum), "mucuna cochinchinensis" (stilozobium cochinchinensis) and jack bean (canavalia ensiformes); three doses of liming (0, 4 and 8 t ha-1 of limestone) and of triple superphosphate (0, 25 and 45 mg p dm-3 of soil), with four replications each one. results showed that "mucuna cochinchinensis" and jack bean produced higher amounts of dry matter than velvet bean. the first species accumulated higher amount of p and the second species higher amount of ca in the tissue. the "mucuna cochinchinensis" species showed higher use efficiency of ca, mg and p in the absence of liming. the jack bean and mucuna cochinchinensis can have better performance than velvet bean, in weathered soils with low concentration of p, ca and mg, since they presented higher translocation efficiency and use of these nutrients, respectively.

Abstract: The species Cajanus cajan L. where pigeonpea is from presents a harvest potential in tropical regions for it is used as human and animal feed, besides being used as green fertilizer. However, the harvest area of this Fabaceae is still insignificant, due to especially the lack of quality seeds. In this context, it is possible to affirm that drying and store are portrayed as important steps for obtaining superior quality seeds. The aim of this study is to evaluate the physiologic quality of dwarf pigeonpea seeds, with different water content during storage. A factorial scheme 3 × 6 was adopted in the delimitation completely randomized, with four replications. Treatments were constituted by the combination of lots of seeds containing three different water contents (11%, 14% and 16%), submitted to a 10-month storage period, with evaluations every two months (0, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10). Seeds were stocked in a bag type kraft under normal lab conditions, that is, no control. Physiologic quality of the seeds was evaluated through the following tests: Germination Pattern TestGPT, first count of germination, accelerated aging and electric conductivity. It can be concluded that pigeonpea with hard seeds containing water content at 11% existing superior physiologic quality throughout the 10-month storage, under no controlled condition, certainly promoted by the less intense breathing from the reserves cumulated in the seed lot. Pigeonpea seeds storage with water content superior to 14% promotes a sharp decrease of physiologic quality, due to an increase in metabolic activity.
