Seasonal variation in the food habits of badgers in an Alpine valley
Mauro Lucherini,Giulia Crema
Hystrix : the Italian Journal of Mammalogy , 1995, DOI: 10.4404/hystrix-7.1-2-4067
Abstract: The seasonal variation in diet and trophic niche breadth of the European badger (Meles meles) have been studied in a high-elevation Alpine ecosystem from March 1990 to October 1991. The analysis of 76 faecal samples showed that Orthoptera, Coleoptera, insect larvae (mainly Coleoptera and Lepidoptera), earthworms and small mammals were the main food items. Both inter- and intra-year differences in food habits were detected. These differences seem primarily related to variations in food availability.
Crema, Allan;Castelo Branco, Marina;
Horticultura Brasileira , 2004, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-05362004000200028
Abstract: migration occurs in some insect species, and in many cases it commences when the ovaries are immature. environmental conditions can affect the rate of ovarian development and oviposition of insects. in the diamondback moth (dbm), plutella xylostella (lepidoptera: yponomeutidae), the larval density affected the rate of ovarian development. in this work we determined the impact of temperatures and photoperiods on dbm ovarian development and oviposition. fourth instar larvae were reared individually in petri dishes at temperatures of 14 and 25oc and photoperiods of 8l:16d and 14l:10d. emerged females were killed in a freezer and dissected under a microscope. to determine the impact of temperature on dbm oviposition, fourth instar larvae were reared individually in petri dishes at temperatures of 14 and 25oc and photoperiods of 8l:16d. when the adults emerged, one male and one female were put in a petri dish and the number of days for oviposition and the number of eggs laid in the first day was recorded. the results showed that the rate of ovarian development was not affected by the employed temperature or photoperiod suggesting that these factors did not affect the migratory potential of the species. females reared at 25oc and 14oc began to lay their eggs 2 and 5 days after emergence, respectively. there were no significant differences in the number of eggs laid in the first day. the results suggested that ovipositon is delayed at low temperatures. the impact of these results on migration and dispersion of dbm are discussed.
Le thème de la révolution dans la pensée de Sartre
Crema, Cristina Diniz Mendon?a;
Trans/Form/A??o , 1990, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-31731990000100003
On forced periodic solutions of superlinear quasi-parabolic problems
Jose Luiz Boldrini,Janete Crema
Electronic Journal of Differential Equations , 1998,
Abstract: We study the existence of periodic solutions for a class of quasi-parabolic equations involving the p-Laplacian (or any other nonlinear operators of similar class) perturbed by nonlinear terms and forced by rather irregular periodic in time excitations (including what we call abrupt changes). These equations may model problems for which, aside from the presence of the kind of nonlinear dissipation associated to the p-Laplacian, other nonlinear and not necessarily dissipative mechanisms occur. We look for boundedness conditions on these periodic excitations and nonlinear perturbations sufficient to guarantee the existence of periodic responses (solutions) of the same period.
Spatio-Temporal Distributions of Middle to Late Jomon Pithouses in Oyumino, Chiba (Japan)

Journal of Open Archaeology Data , 2012, DOI: 10.5334/4f8eb4078284b
Abstract: Oyumino district (Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture, Japan) is a small residential area which has been intensely investigated as part of an urban development project during the 1970s~90s. The emergency excavations have yielded a vast amount of archaeological materials from different historic and prehistoric periods, including numerous hunter-gatherer settlements attributed to the Jōmon culture (ca. 16,000 – 2500 cal BP). The dataset comprises the spatial location of 364 residential units attributed to the Middle and Late Jōmon periods (ca. 5500-3200 cal BP) along with the spatial extent of the excavation areas, the 5-meter resolution digital elevation model of the Oyumino district, and an attribute table which includes the probability of existence of each pithouse for chronological intervals of 100 years.

Abstract: this paper presents the features of architecture, urbanism, landscape architecture and design periodicals published in brazil for their potential consideration as scientific or technical periodicals. comments a current methodology of evaluation for scientific periodicals from different fields of knowledge and the pertinence of its applicability due to the diverse nature of the scientific output from the architecture and urbanism area.
On the role of the equal-area condition in internal layer stationary solutions to a class of reaction-diffusion systems
Janete Crema,Arnaldo Simal do Nascimento
Electronic Journal of Differential Equations , 2004,
Abstract: We present necessary conditions for the formation of internal transition layers in stationary solutions to some singularly perturbed reaction-diffusion systems. In particular we prove that the well-known equal-area condition which is always assumed in a typical set of sufficient conditions for existence of such solutions is actually a necessary hypothesis. Examples of existence and nonexistence of these solutions are given.
Proposal of a new technique for bile duct reconstruction after iatrogenic injury: study in dogs and review of the literature
Crema, Eduardo;Trentini, Eliane Anrain;Llanos, Juan Carlos;
Acta Cirurgica Brasileira , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-86502007000300002
Abstract: purpose: interposition of a jejunal tube between the common bile duct and duodenum. methods: five adult mongrel dogs of both sexes, weighing on average 22.3 kg (18 to 26.5 kg), were used. obstructive jaundice was induced by ligation of the distal common bile duct. after one week, a 2.5-cm long jejunal tube was fabricated from a segment of the loop removed 15 cm from the treitz angle and interposed between the common bile duct and duodenum. results: the animals presented good clinical evolution and no complications were observed. after 6 weeks, complete integration was noted between the bile duct mucosa, tube and duodenum and a significant reduction in total bilirubin and alkaline phosphatase was observed when compared to the values obtained one week after ligation of the common bile duct. conclusion: the jejunal tube interposed between the dilated bile duct and duodenum showed good anatomic integration and reduced total bilirubin and alkaline phosphatase levels in the animals studied.

Biancardi, Ana Luiza;Walsh, Aileen;Crema, Armando Stefano;
Revista Brasileira de Oftalmologia , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S0034-72802011000200010
Abstract: this paper describes the intraoperative refraction for intraocular lens (iol) power calculation. report a case of a 67 year-old male patient reporting a progressive loss of visual acuity in the left eye (os). examination revealed best corrected visual acuity (bcva) of 20/60 (-21,50 -4,00 x 170) related to adherence of silicone oil to the iol optic. iol exchange was proposed, however biometry was variable and doubtful. intraoperative refraction confirmed the iol power and the patient underwent uneventful iol explantation and exchange with a three-piece acrylic iol. after surgery, examination revealed bcva os of 20/30 (-1,25 -1,25 x 180). analysis of explanted iol confirmed adherence of silicone oil to the iol optic. intraoperative refraction is useful to confirm iol power calculation.
