Athenea Digital , 2004,
Abstract: This article argues for a behaviourist interpretation of Wittgenstein. We propose an 'epistemological behaviourist' account of his notion of language games. The behaviourist line we propose does not deny the ontological existence of the mental, and it understands 'behaviour' in the widest, most social, sense. The gist of our argument is that any supposedly 'inner' language game must inevitably rely on external, publicly available criteria. We explore the possibility of developing a social-psychological epistemology based on a Skinnerian analysis of language yet consistent with the Wittgensteinian perspective. We end with a discussion of the implications for Psychology of a behaviourist epistemology.

Crego,Ramiro D.; Macri,Ivana N.;
El hornero , 2009,
Abstract: in this paper we present a technique to estimate densities and quantitatively evaluate population trends of spotted nothura (nothura maculosa) in grasslands habitats. we evaluated spotted nothura density in the hills of tandil, buenos aires province, using two techniques: line transects with variable width and strip transects. for the latter, we also evaluated the assumption that the probability of detecting an individual within the strip was 1. density values obtained with both techniques were similar (1.20 ind/ha for variable width transects, and 1.16 ind/ha for strip transects). we did not find significant differences among frequencies of individuals detected at different distances within the strip. we conclude that strip transects constitute a robust and efficient technique to evaluate, with a minimum cost, population trends of spotted nothura in grasslands and agricultural habitats. our density estimates are among the highest reported for buenos aires province, suggesting that the hills of tandil could represent a refuge for this species.

Monarchy, jesters, politicians and audiences Comparison of TV satire in UK and Spain
José Luis Valhondo Crego, Ph. D.
Revista Latina de Comunicación Social , 2011,
Abstract: Satire programmes have become a frequent form of political communication on TV. After the liberalisation of media and the globalization of formats, countries like Spain have adopted satirical formats derived from earlier ones, which relied on old traditions from nearly the inception of television similar to the United Kingdom. The goal of this article is to build a definition of the genre, taking into account the examples of the two mentioned countries and, also, referring to both periods, before and after liberalisation. We will use a comparative methodology relative to the profile of the audiences, of the buffoons of satire and the role played by the politicians through the short history of television satire. The results point to an evolution. During the sixties in the past century, the genre targeted the middle classes, writers tried to popularize politics for a society respectful to the Establishment and politicians censored the program in case it created an imbalance between ideological options during elections. In the nineties, satire jesters acquired the main role in the show and the politicians not only immunized themselves against satire but seemed to take advantage of it.

Revista de Psicología del Trabajo y de las Organizaciones , 2008, DOI: 10.4321/S1576-59622008000300008
Abstract: early retirement is a heterogeneous experience with regard to both the way the exit from the working life is carried out and the personal and psychosocial consequences. in order to explore relationships between socio-demographic variables, causes of early retirement and satisfaction with post-working life, we administered an adaptation of the retirement satisfaction inventory (floyd et al., 1992) to a sample of 638 spanish early retirees with an average age of 61.28. one-factor anova was used for data analysis. concerning the reasons for early retirement, pursuing personal interests was more important for women than for men. men highlighted health problems and pressures from employer as reasons for early retirement to a greater extent than women. highly educated early retirees were more interested in early retirement and early retirees with higher professional status showed a better adaptation to retirement. knowing the relationships between socio-demographic characteristics, motivation towards retirement and retirement satisfaction is a first step to develop more complex analysis of the early-retirement experiences.

Abstract: This paper aims to analyse the influence of psychosocial factors on image-destination, using for this purpose the case of Madrid. We have used two different samples with 1200 and 2000 visitors respectively, to whom we have applied two questionnaires –in relevant city tourist settings-. With this questionnaire we aimed to measure the following variables in relation with the visit in Madrid: socio demographic information; stay characteristics (such as type of accommodation, stay duration, visiting frequency); primary and secondary motivation; level of satisfaction in relation to several services and destination image (measured trough a five intervals Likert’s scale with 15 items about infrastructures and services, cultural and leisure offer, host characteristics, etc.). We have calculated independent contrasts between variables related to travel characteristics and sociodemographic and psychosocial ones. Fur-thermore we have contrasted, through regression analysis, the influence of all these variables on the image of Madrid
