Electron transfer by singlet excited state of porphyn and electron acceptor affinity in rigid medium: photoacoustic phase angle analysis
CORNéLIO, Marin?nio Lopes;
Eclética Química , 1997, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-46701997000100008
Abstract: photoacoustic spectroscopy provides information about both amplitude and phase of the response of a system to an optical excitation process. this paper presents the studies of the phase in the electron transfer process between octaethylporphyn (oep) and quinone molecules dispersed in a polymeric matrix. it was observed a tendency in the phase behavior to small values only in the spectral region near to 620 nm, while for shorter wavelength did not show any tendency. these measurements suggested that the electron transfer to acceptor occurred with the participation of octaethylporphyn singlet excited state.

Current Urban Studies (CUS) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/cus.2013.14010
Abstract: This paper describes the creative potential of Brazilian territories, including aspects pointed as cities’ comparative advantages in terms of creativity: cultural facilities, labor market and public expenditures in culture. The paper uses clustering analysis, applied to secondary data from the Brazilian Demographic Census (IBGE), Survey of Basic Municipal Information (MUNIC/IBGE) and municipal expenditures in culture from National Treasury (FINBRA). Among the six clusters which were created, three are well defined and the others are quite mixed. Cluster 1 includes the two largest and most developed cities in Brazil, S?o Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Cluster 2 is composed of capitals of important states in Brazil and cities where large universities are located. We named this cluster as creative university centers. Cluster 3 comprises 99 municipalities and can be named as centers of cultural and ecological tourism.

Revista de Saúde Pública , 1990, DOI: 10.1590/S0034-89101990000100010
Abstract: a working proposal for the integration of the activities of public health assistance is presented. two health clinics in the city of s. paulo, brazil, were studied. taking as a starting-point that all activity in the health sector depends on community participation, this study sought to discover how the population has received and used the geographically integrated health services. for this purpose, information was collected from the users of both of these services, by means of a questionnaire, as to the motive for the use of the service, the service's ability to meet the need, the degree of user-satisfaction, etc. the analysis of the above information as well as of the objective and the working method of these services, leads to the conclusion that they are used by the public in a selective way for the purpose of meeting immediate needs related to present illnesses.
Algumas idéias sobre a rela??o educa??o e comunica??o no ambito da Saúde
Donato, Ausonia Favorido;Rosenburg, Cornélio Pedroso;
Saúde e Sociedade , 2003, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-12902003000200003
Abstract: this article discusses some concepts about the link between education and communication in the field of health through the discussion of two educational experiences with youngsters and adults. it begins with the circunscription of the constructed "field of health" not only as a locus from which it is possible to locate phenomena related to health but also as a social instance and historically made by individuals who establish among themselves exchange and power relationships. starting with the common social element, the aspects related to education and communication get jointed. as for communication, we meant to approach it, not by its media dimension latu sensu but from its condition to produce a social sense in the heart of subjectivity, and to do so making use of some concepts of the russian linguist mikhail bakhtin. with respect to education it stayed out the link among the several dimensions of the process teaching-apprenticement, schematized in its fields of knowledge. at last, we could verify that, unlike an eminently communicational approach to the problems of health, the contribution of the relation between communication and education, situated in the field of health, makes one question a current tendency that privileges the media in detriment of the graduation of the subject.
Desvelando a concep??o de adolescência/adolescente presente no discurso da Saúde Pública
Peres, Fumika;Rosenburg, Cornélio P.;
Saúde e Sociedade , 1998, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-12901998000100004
Abstract: the present paper is part of the phd dissertation presented and defended in the faculty of public health-usp in 1995. it is a theorical piece of work in the field of social sciences. it aims at a critical analysis of the knowledge produced and used in the health area that has hegemonically directed the practice with adolescents uncovering the concept of adolescent/adolescence present in the public health discourse. the adopted conception is recognized by means of a historic deconstruction and reconstruction of the discourse under study with the use of the social history research tools. such conception represents the biomedical paradigm that has predominantly guided the production of knowledge and corresponding practices in the areas.
Electron migration in DNA matrix: an electron transfer reaction
POY, Cecília Dominical;CORNéLIO, Marin?nio Lopes;
Eclética Química , 1998, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-46701998000100009
Abstract: this paper brings an active and provocative area of current research. it describes the investigation of electron transfer (et) chemistry in general and et reactions results in dna in particular. two dna intercalating molecules were used: ethidium bromide as the donor (d) and methyl-viologen as the acceptor (a), the former intercalated between dna bases and the latter in its surface. using the perrin model and fluorescence quenching measurements the distance of electron migration, herein considered to be the linear spacing between donor and acceptor molecule along the dna molecule, was obtained. a value of 22.6 (± 1.1) angstroms for the distance and a number of 6.6 base pairs between donor and acceptor were found. in current literature the values found were 26 angstroms and almost 8 base pairs. dna electron transfer is considered to be mediated by through-space interactions between the p-electron-containing base pairs.

Abstract: the present work is a continuation of the study about medicinal herbs occurring in the state of alagoas, whose main objective is to send them after a previous study to the laboratories of natural products where their active principles and others for will be determined and after used in the production of medicaments. the species were collected in several municipalities in the state of alagoas and after prepared and identified they were incorporated to the herbarium "professor honório monteiro" (mufal) of the federal university of alagoas. the study of those medicinal species comprehends: scientific names, families, common names brief description of each species and medicinal use. twenty species were studied.
Qualidade das águas do ribeir?o Ubá - MG
Carvalho, Cornélio de Freitas;Ferreira, Adalberto Luiz;Stapelfeldt, Frank;
Rem: Revista Escola de Minas , 2004, DOI: 10.1590/S0370-44672004000300005
Abstract: the water quality of the ubá creek, inside and in the outskirts of the town with this name in the state of minas gerais, was investigated. both physico-chemical and bacteriological analyses were performed in this investigation. also, physico-chemical analyses of the effluents from furniture industries, the main industrial activity in that town, were also carried out. the water quality index (wqi) - based on chemical and biological parameters - was used to determine the quality of the water of this creek. it has been found that inside this town as well as after leaving it, the water of the ubá creek is of bad quality, due to pollution resulting from both domestic and industrial sewage.
Estado vacinal, tipo de habita??o e nível cultural da m?e e sua rela??o com o estado imunitário à poliomielite, em uma amostra de escolares do município de S?o Paulo, Brasil
Barbosa,Victório; Stewien,Klaus E.; Rosenburg,Cornélio P.;
Revista de Saúde Pública , 1977, DOI: 10.1590/S0034-89101977000300004
Abstract: in a probabilistic sample of the elementary school children belonging to the s. paulo public school system, a survey was conducted in order to establish 1) the vaccination status of the children - number of doses of oral polio vaccine, 2) the kind of housing - private home or slum, 3) the cultural status of the mother - literate or illiterate. these factors were studied in relation to the prevalence of neutralizing antibodies and the immune status to poliomyelitis of those children. the results showed a correlation between the presence of type 1, 2 and 3 poliovirus antibodies and the number of doses of trivalent sabin vaccine fed to children 7 and 8 years old, who exibited satisfactory immunity level only with 5 and more doses of the vaccine. in the age group of 9 to 15 years and higher, the immune status of the children was no more related to the number of doses of the vaccine which is considered as a result of the immunization of the children by means of natural infections with circulating polioviruses. when the immune status of the children was related to housing and the cultural level of the mother, the relationship described for certain age groups (7 and 8 years) was not observed, which seems to be explained by the same reasons refered to the 9 to 15 and higher age groups. the authors recommended that the primary course of immunization for infants should consist of at least 5 doses of trivalent sabin vaccine.
