Le signifié du regard
Corina-Amelia Georgescu

Effects of Monotonous Auditory Stimulation on the Human EEG  [PDF]
Marius Georgescu, Daniel Georgescu, Maria Iancau, Anda Gadidov
Neuroscience & Medicine (NM) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/nm.2012.34040
Abstract: Monotony is the result of continuous predictive or repetitive stimulations and can be considered a functional state of the central nervous system, a state characterized by lowered cerebral activity. The present work investigates the effect of monotonous auditory input on cerebral electrical activity. This was done by means of recording the EEG under three different auditory stimuli (S1, S2, S3), on 11 volunteers (average age 23 years). Data were acquisitioned during 20 minutes of auditory stimulation, with a 5 minute period of silence before and after stimulation. The characteristic features of each obtained EEG pattern depends closely on the type of the musical composition. Thus, the highest domain of variance generated under stimulation by S3 (fragments of the Mozart’s K448 Sonata) is for the frequency bands Alfa1, Beta2 and Theta, while in case of S2 (recording of a rainforest) it is for bands Delta, Beta1 and Alfa2, and in case of S1 (recording of a car driving over a rough road) is only slightly elevated for the total frequency spectrum. By comparing the period of auditory stimulation with the post-stimulation period, in case of S3 the fewest statistically significant mean values are noticeable (only for Delta and Theta indexes), in contrast to S1, which presents statistically significant differences between mean values for high frequency bands. In case of S2, statistically significant differences between mean values are similar to S3, with the addition of the Beta1 frequency band. In conclusion, each different auditory stimuli produces a characteristic pattern of changes in cortical micropotentials which could be associated with the induced psychoemotional state.
Aplikasi Metode Group Technology dalam Memperbaiki Tata Letak Mesin untuk Meminimalkan Jarak Perpindahan Bahan (Studi Kasus di Perusahaan Mebel Logam)
Amelia Amelia
Jurnal Teknik Mesin , 2007,
Abstract: Material handling process is affected by planning and setting layout facility since cost of material handling can reached 30-90% total production cost. In a metal furniture factory products were made without good setting layout facility. The machines and material were set at empty places. Distances between machines were not set so the traffic would get traffic jam. Unfinished material must wait until the number requirement for handling is reached. The layout setting of machines will be set with Group Technology. The methods used are Rank Order Clustering, Similarity Coefficient and p-median. The result of this method can reduce distance of material handling until 68%.
Developing a Micropayments System in Local Area Networks
Cristian GEORGESCU
Risk in Contemporary Economy , 2011,
Abstract: Starting from the solution of aggregating micropayments in a local area network that operates with reduced costs, with simple and easy to use equipments, with security procedures that are not so complicated, based on the rapport between the cost of fraud and the expected value obtained through fraud, a first stage of developing this system has been accomplished and materialized in the analysis stage by using some of the diagrams put to use by UML.
A NEW FORM OF KNOWLEDGE: EXPERIENTIA LITERATA
Laura GEORGESCU
Societate ?i Politic? , 2011,
Abstract: In this paper, I assess Francis Bacon’s methodologicalconsiderations on the process of experimentation in order to show thatexperiments and experimentation have a productive role in his scientificinquiry. By looking at the structure of the problems selected forinvestigation, and at the ways they are addressed in the History of the Winds, Iemphasize some of the epistemic functions of the experimentation process:the generation of new unknown effects, direct and essential contribution toconceptual innovation, the extension of the domain of research, and thepinning down of the essential factors for producing the particulareffect/phenomenon that is under study.
Recession-An issue for organizations
Daniel GEORGESCU
Economia : Seria Management , 2009,
Abstract: The reality in all organization is that the directors and board are in the position of highest influence and their primary responsibility is leadership. As such, considering the consequences of a recession such as we currently face is not the time for directors to abdicate their responsibilities – it is time for governance leadership. The directors and the board must think and respond strategically. The article shows a matrix for positioning the general manager in recession that is similarly with BCG matrix and in the final a table with a set of essential questions for helping the board in new strategies building.
