Revista Colombiana de Ciencias Pecuarias , 2010,
Abstract: the cholecystitis is a gall-bladder inflamatory patology, the obstruction and biliar infection could be the principal causes of presentation. the diagnosis is dificult because the clinical signs as clinicopatological abnormalities are inespecifics, so the ultrasonography is a important method of diagnosis, because the visualization of thickeny of the gall-bladder’s wall or hiperecogenic bile induce to suspect cholecystitis. the bile culture and antibiograma permit to define the specific antibiotic treatment. a clinic case is described to emphasize the importance of ultrasonography in the canine cholecystitis diagnosis.

Journal of Veterinary Medicine , 2013, DOI: 10.1155/2013/495975
Abstract: The Dogo Argentino (DA) is the first and only breed from Argentina recognized worldwide. Although its morphologic features have been well established, its normal reproductive parameters are not clearly known. The aim of this study was to determine the main DA bitch reproductive parameters. One hundred and forty-nine surveys were obtained from breeders from Córdoba province, Argentina: one for each intact DA bitch from 1 to 14 years old. The DA bitch reached puberty at an average of 8.93 months. The mean duration of vulval bleeding found in this study was 11.11 days. The clinical signs characteristic for proestrous-estrous were vulval edema (89.93%), bleeding during the time of mating (32.21%), holding the tail to the side (95.30%), and docility during mating (85.91%). DA bitches had a whelping rate of 84%. Out of 299 pregnancies, 89.30% exhibited a normal parturition, 6.69% presented dystocia, 2.68% needed Cesarean section, and 1.34% aborted. In conclusion, the reproductive parameters of the DA bitch are similar to those identified for other large breeds. DA often showed a prolonged vulval bleeding longer than proestrus. Its high whelping rate, its low incidence of dystocia, and its good maternal ability define the DA as a good reproductive breed with normal reproductive functions. 1. Introduction The Dogo Argentino (DA) is so far the only breed from Argentina recognized by the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (1973). Even though it is known as a big-game hunting dog, it is now also used as companion and guard dog. Its morphologic features have been very well established; however, its normal reproductive parameters are not clearly known. This knowledge is essential to achieve a proper reproductive management, to determine the ideal time of mating or artificial insemination, to avoid unwanted pregnancies, to estimate whelping date, and to diagnose many pathologies. Domestic dogs are monoestrous and typically nonseasonal breeders, with large individual and breed-specific variations [1]. They reach puberty variably at 6 to 14 months of age, with means positively correlated with breed size [2]. The average of the interestrous interval is 6 months, it ranges from 4 to 12 months depending on breed, age, and individual [3]. The proestrous duration is highly variable, from 6 to 11 days, with an average of 9 days [4]. This stage is characterized by male attraction, nonreceptive bitches, and vulval bleeding. Pseudopregnancy is a physiological syndrome which may occur during diestrous. Its signs are very similar to those typical of pregnant bitches, such as
Why a universe as a whole must be a quantum object  [PDF]
Pedro F. González-Díaz
Natural Science (NS) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/ns.2011.35053
Abstract: Technical and physical reasons are given in favor of the idea that single universes, accelerating or not, essentially are quantum-mechanical entities without any classical analogs, even when they are forming part of a given multi- verse.
Is the Cosmic big Trip Just a Classical Wormhole Artifact?  [PDF]
Pedro F. González-Daz
International Journal of Astronomy and Astrophysics (IJAA) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/ijaa.2011.12012
Abstract: Starting with the original sub-quantum dark energy model, the current accelerating phase of the evolution of the universe is considered by constructing most economical cosmic models that use just general relativity and some dominating quantum effects associated with the probabilistic description of quantum physics. Two of such models are explicitly considered. They support an interpretation of dark energy in terms of the entangled energy of the universe. The model only violates the dominant energy condition quantum mechanically, that is by an amount given by the entanglement energy density, and gives rise to an asymptotically anti-de Sitter wormhole that becomes an asymptotically flat wormhole in the classical limit. It is shown that for most cosmic solutions such a wormhole does not predict any big trip phenomenon when it accretes phantom like energy.
Cosmic Transmutation Conjecture  [PDF]
Pedro F. González-Daz
Journal of Modern Physics (JMP) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/jmp.2011.28094
Abstract: This paper analyzes the big trip phenomenon, restricting it to happen only in the context of the multiverse when the involved wormhole is asymptotically flat and recent criticisms are pointless. A new kind of Lorentzian asymptotically anti-de Sitter wormholes is considered in some detail and it is seen that such wormholes cannot contribute the big trip phenomenon. The ideas of big trip, multiverse and Boltzmann brains are then used to advance the conjecture of cosmic transmutation according to which the host universe where one of the mouths of a grown up wormhole is inserted may be converted into a universe similar to the traveling one if the latter contains a civilization which is typical also in the host universe. The origin of life in the context of the multiverse is then briefly discussed.
Rituals and their transcendence in Corporate Culture
Zahaira F. González F. González
Journal of Arts and Humanities , 2013,
Abstract: The organization is structured in a "hard" and “soft” system, our research was focused on the image (soft system) and the result presents the importance to create a strong corporate culture (CC), to simultaneously enhance the positive image as well as the economic results (benefits). The Object of the study are working-hours dedicated to consolidate the rites and rituals as part of the CC implemented in Wal Mart SuperCenter (store No. 2346) in Mexico. We want to know if is possible to classify and measure the CC through the “Rites and Rituals”. On the basis of the results obtained and the manner in which our research evolved, we believe that it is possible to draw the conclusion that corporate culture can be numerically measured in terms of manhours. The rituals with the greater numerical representation within the company are the administrative ones, leading us to consider that the company is principally concerned with maintaining an open and continuous communication with its employees.
Noise measurements on optical detectors
González, F. J;
Revista mexicana de física , 2006,
Abstract: the main figure of merit for detectors whose output consists of an electrical signal that is proportional to the radiant signal power is the normalized detectivity d*, which is directly proportional to the signal-to-noise ratio (s n r). in order to have an accurate value for the signal-to-noise ratio of an optical detector, the noise level of the measurement system and the bias circuit should be small compared to the noise of the device under test. in this paper a low-noise setup to make noise measurements on optical detectors is analyzed and characterized for the specific case of an antenna-coupled microbolometer. the noise floor of the setup was calculated and measured at about 1.3 nv , which gives detector-noise-limited measurements for microbolometers with resistances as low as 200 ω. this measurement setup was used to characterize the noise of a 200 ω antenna-coupled microbolometer made out of chrome. measurements showed two 1/ ?k components in this particular device.
La implementación del Plan de Acceso Universal y Garantías Explícitas (Plan AUGE) ha deteriorado la calidad del tratamiento de pacientes con insuficiencia renal terminal
González F,Fernando;
Revista médica de Chile , 2006, DOI: 10.4067/S0034-98872006001000011
Abstract: background: the implementation of the auge plan for renal failure in chile in august 2002, generated larger waiting list for outpatient care. aim: to analyze the incidence of terminal renal failure, the proportion of patients that were admitted to hemodialysis using a definitive vascular access and the lapse of use of transitory catheters, before and after the implementation of auge in calama. material and mehtods: since 1999, in a dialysis center of calama, all new patients that are admitted to hemodialysis and the type of vascular access they have are registered. using this registry, the incidence of terminal renal failure and the lapse between the admission to the center and the installation of a definitive vascular access were calculated for the period 2000 to 2005. results: from january 2000 to december 2003, the incidence of terminal renal failure was stable in 190 ± 21 patients per million inhabitants (ppmh). it decreased between january and september 2004 to 124 ± 18.6. afterwards, it progressively increased to 221 ± 21 ppmh. in the study period, the proportion of patients admitted to hemodialysis with a definitive access decreased from 63 to 10% (p<0.01) and the mean lapse of transitory catheter use, increased from 32.9 ± 42.6 to 73.1 ± 80.4 days (p<0.01). conclusions: the implementation of auge for chronic renal failure reduced the quality of care of patients admitted to hemodialysis

González F.,Fernando;
Revista médica de Chile , 2003, DOI: 10.4067/S0034-98872003000500011
Abstract: background: an opportune, efficient and low cost medical attention should be provided to all patients, without discrimination. when the need for medical attention outweighs the available resources, permanently increasing waiting lists are generated. the aim of the universal access and explicit guaranties plan (auge) is to attend selected patients in periods predefined by the health authority. aim: to describe the first six months of implementation of auge plan for chronic renal failure in a public hospital of santiago. material and methods: as a health care quality monitoring system, the lapse between the generation of a nephrological consultation and the specialist assessment, is registered periodically. these lapses were evaluated before and after the auge plan implementation, for eligible and non eligible patients for the plan. results were modeled according queue theory. results: after three months of implementation, the auge plan prolongs waiting periods and increases the number of all patients seeking for nephrological attention. conclusions: according to these results auge plan will be successful only if its present functioning is modified and receives more financial resources (rev méd chile 2003; 131: 545-51).
