Placeres marinhos
Silva, Cleverson G.;
Revista Brasileira de Geofísica , 2000, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-261X2000000300010
Abstract: marine placers are located on present beaches or are related to the quaternary sea level oscillatory events, which exposed large areas of the continental shelf or covered portions of the coastal plains. the transgressive sea level events drowned alluvial and colluvial deposits including important heavy minerals concentrations further reworked by current and wave action. this mechanism promoted the re-concentration of the denser minerals such as ilmenite, zircon, tin, gold and diamonds. the main exploration activities of marine placers are located on namibian and south african continental shelves, for diamonds, and on the southeast asia, for tin. important extraction of ilmenite, zircon, rutile and monazite sands occurs in australia, sri lanka and india, as well as on the northern rio de janeiro state, brazil. gold extraction on beaches and on the continental shelf offshore alaska ceased during the nineties. the technology involved on the exploitation of marine minerals can be highly sophisticated, as observed in namibia and south africa, employing massive ships, with specially designed rotation drills, submarine robots and track-mounted vehicles, equipped with powerful suction pumps, remotely controlled. these equipment are used to extract the gravel substrate containing the diamonds in water depths approaching 200 m. the associated environmental impact in dredged areas is substantial and must be constantly monitored and controlled by an efficient legislation and by the local environmental agencies and controlling organisms. this paper presents a review of the current knowledge about the origin of the marine placers, the main world's and brazilian occurrences and exploration techniques and the principal environmental impacts associated with its exploitation.
2DEG on a cylindrical shell with a screw dislocation
Cleverson Filgueiras,Edilberto O. Silva
Physics , 2015, DOI: 10.1016/j.physleta.2015.06.035
Abstract: A two dimensional electron gas on a cylindrical surface with a screw dislocation is considered. More precisely, we investigate how both the geometry and the deformed potential due to a lattice distortion affect the Landau levels of such system. The case showing the deformed potential can be thought in the context of 3D common semiconductors where the electrons are confined on a cylindrical shell. We will show that important quantitative differences exist due to this lattice distortion. For instance, the effective cyclotron frequency is diminished by the deformed potential, which in turn enhances the Hall conductivity.

Abstract: beach mqrphology reflects the interaction between hydrodynamic conditions and sediment type. this interaction begins at the wave base, being more effective at the breaker zone where energy is dissipated, originating a surf zone and extending shoreward, up to the swash limit. the goal of this paper is to present the morphodynamic characteristics of the ne littoral of rio de janeiro state, showing an analysis based on temporal and spatial variability of beach protiles, morphology of the continental shelf (bathymetric map) and aerial photos. the beach protiles were taken during tive years by petrobras (brazilian 'petroleum co.) along 8 different beaches. differences in morphoqynamic behavior along the study coastline are dependent 00 the interplay amoog different wave patterns and coastline trends, inner continental shelf morphology controlling the surf zone and the number of breaker zones, sediment grain size and beach face gradient. four different morphodynamic compartments were recognized based on morphological characteristics of the beach profiles and inner shelf, beach mobility index, sediment size x beach face slope and the q parameter. the four compartments are: a) atafonaifoz do rio paraiba do sul -intermediate to dissipative morphodynamic state with the highest beach mobility index and a high erosive rate; sul de atafona-cabo de s?o tomé -intermediate to reflective state with low beach mobility index; cabo de s?o tomé -reflective to intermediate morphodynamic 5tate with high beach mobility index and cabo de s?o tomé~cabiúnas -reflective with low beach mobility index.
Composting as Final Alternative to Solid Waste from Ceasa Curitiba/PR
Cesar Aparecido da Silva,Cleverson V. Andreoli
Engenharia Ambiental : Pesquisa e Tecnologia , 2010,
Abstract: Solids waste (SW) have been a municipal government concern. Centrais de Abastecimento (CEASA), the wholesale markets, are examples of SW potential generators. The CEASA localized in Curitiba city generates about 25 ton of SW per day corresponding to 20 ton of organic solid waste, consisting mainly of leftover or surplus of products marketed in the unit. The alternatives for this waste class are landfill, incineration, biodigesters and composting. The aim of the present work was to evaluate the composting as an alternative to disposal of waste based on the diagnosis made previously in the Program of Waste Management. It was found the composting is the cheaper solution available, ranging form U$ 6 to U$ 10 for natural method and U$ 20 to U$ 90 per ton for the accelerated method. It has suggested the compost from the composting method should be sold at CEASA with the objective to decrease the value paid by storekeeper to form a cycle: The farmer produces foods to market at CEASA and receive the compost to be applied partial or overall to substitute the chemical additives in his fields and turn to CEASA as foods and son on, encouraging the farmers to use natural nutrients and reduce their dependence on artificial inputs.
Quantum harmonic oscillator for dipoles
Cleverson Filgueiras,D. Cogollo,E. O. Silva
Physics , 2012,
Abstract: In this work we investigate which radial field configuration yields bound states for neutral particles showing non-zero magnetic and electric dipole moments. The main result is that, in contrast with previous works, the Landau analog levels only exist if these radial magnetic and electric external fields are proportional to the third power of distance, not proportional to the distance. We derive the wave functions and the energy levels in the context of commutative and non-commutative quantum mechanics. We also show that, in the case of non-commutative phase space, these harmonic oscillator like spectrum do exist even if there is no external radial magnetic and electric fields. They are only consequence of the non-commutativity in the momenta.

Marchalek, Cleverson Regis Lino;Rebelato, Marcelo Giroto;Rodrigues, Isabel Cristina;
Produ??o , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-65132007000200006
Abstract: the objective of this work is to study the differences in the perception of the different levels of relationship between contractors and suppliers bearing in mind an environment wherein there are several suppliers competing to deliver service to one contractor. it aims to help contractors and suppliers to build up a long-term relationship. the study focuses on the existing models of inter-organizational relationships, as well as the analysis of multiple cases, so as to identify critical factors that lead to success, both from the point of view of the contractor and the supplier. the conclusion it arrives at is that the biggest discrepancy factors in terms of mutual perception between contractors and suppliers are: communication, trust and the sharing of risks and rewards.

Journal of the Brazilian Chemical Society , 2003, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-50532003000300007
Abstract: our taxonomic interest in the neoraputia stimulated an investigation of n. paraensis searching for alkaloids. fractions were monitored by 1h nmr and esi-ms/ms and only those which showed features of anthranilate alkaloids and flavonoids absent in the previous investigations were examined. stems afforded the alkaloids flindersine, skimmianine, 8-methoxyflindersine and dictamnine; leaves yielded 3',4',7,8-tetramethoxy-5,6-(2",2"-dimethylpyrano)-flavone, 3',4',5,7,8-pentamethoxyflavone, 5-hydroxy-3',4',6,7-tetramethoxyflavone, 3',4'-methylenedioxy-5,6,7-trimethoxyflavone and 5-hydroxy-3',4'-methylenedioxy-6,7-dimethoxyflavone. the alkaloids have remained undiscovered for 10 years. a number of flavonoids isolated from n. paraensis, n. magnifica, murraya paniculata, citrus sinensis graft (rutaceae), lonchocarpus montanus (leguminosae) were evaluated for their ability to inhibit the enzymatic activity of the protein glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase from trypanosoma cruzi. highly oxygenated flavones and isoflavone were the most actives.
Optimal Two-Impulse Trajectories with Moderate Flight Time for Earth-Moon Missions
Sandro da Silva Fernandes,Cleverson Maranh o Porto Marinho
Mathematical Problems in Engineering , 2012, DOI: 10.1155/2012/971983
Abstract: A study of optimal two-impulse trajectories with moderate flight time for Earth-Moon missions is presented. The optimization criterion is the total characteristic velocity. Three dynamical models are used to describe the motion of the space vehicle: the well-known patched-conic approximation and two versions of the planar circular restricted three-body problem (PCR3BP). In the patched-conic approximation model, the parameters to be optimized are two: initial phase angle of space vehicle and the first velocity impulse. In the PCR3BP models, the parameters to be optimized are four: initial phase angle of space vehicle, flight time, and the first and the second velocity impulses. In all cases, the optimization problem has one degree of freedom and can be solved by means of an algorithm based on gradient method in conjunction with Newton-Raphson method.

Revista Brasileira de Geofísica , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-261X2007000400007
Abstract: high-resolution seismic stratigraphic investigation of the juparan? lake, the largest lacustrine body in the lakes system of doce river lower course(state of espírito santo, southeastern brazil), was performed, giving the information to discuss the quaternary lacustrine evolution. two seismic sequences were identified. the older seismic sequence is characterized by a reflection free pattern, associated with holocene alluvial sedimentation. the younger seismic sequence is characterized by a parallel pattern of seismic reflections and was associated with lacustrine deposition after the damming of the "old juparan? alluvial valley". the isopach map of the younger seismic sequence documents an irregular distribution of the lacustrine deposits in three distinct depocenters with relatively abrupt limits suggesting a neotectonic control on the lacustrine evolution.
