Efecto de genes candidatos sobre características reproductivas de hembras porcinas

Revista Científica , 2006,
Abstract: candidate genes were studied for litter size in 300 sows yorkshire-landrace; esr, prlr, rbp4 y fut1. the sows were grouped in two levels of production (lp): high level (hl) and low level (ll). using chi-square test the alleles and genotypic frequencies were analyzed. employing analysis of variance with an mixed model effects for the total number born (tnb), number of piglets born alive (nba), number of piglets alive at weaning (nw), total weight of piglets born (wtnb), total weight of piglets alive at weaning (wnw) and breeding value sow productivity (bvsp). the means were compared by orthogonal contrasts. the sows with high production were associated with a higher frequency of b allele of esr gene (p < 0.05). the differences were of 0.04 nba, 0.3 nw, 2.9 wnw kg and 8.6 bvsp points to favor of ab genotype of esr gene (p < 0.05) without considering the lp and no homozygous bb animal was detected. the alleles and genotypic frequencies of prlr gene were not related with the lp (p > 0.05), did not have differences (p > 0.05) between the genotypes aa, ab and bb without considering the lp, neither within of same lp. in the rbp4 gene the frequency of a allele and the aa genotype was higher in sows with hl (p < 0.05), no homozygous bb animals were detected. the sows with aa genotype had 0.5 tnb, 0.5 nba, 0.6 wtnb kg, 2.6 wnw kg and 3.2 bvsp points more than sows with ab genotype (p < 0.05), without considering the lp. the frequency of g allele and gg genotype of fut1 gene was higher in the hl (p < 0.05). the gg genotype was higher than ag genotype with 0.6 tnb, 0.8 wtnb kg, 3.0 wnw kg and 3.9 bvsp points more (p < 0.05), without considering the lp

Revista Cubana de Investigaciones Biom??dicas , 1999,
Abstract: a biomaterial obtained from the porous endoskeleton of a sea echinoderm that under hydrothermal conditions with ion exchange is transformed into a biphasic compound, which is basically compesed of hydroxyapatite and a part of calcium carbonate, was studied. the material has properties that allow its use in form of granules in bone substitutes or restorations of lesions caused by orthopedic cysts or tumors, or in concave preforms in skull or in the floor and roof of the ocular fornix.

Journal for Educators, Teachers and Trainers , 2011,
Abstract: In a moment of economic crisis where the percentage of unemployed from among 20 to 30 years in Spain is very worrying, the youth should be more prepared that never for its insertion to the labor market, with the desire added of a lasting and worthy employment. Because of these reflections is born our desire to carry out an empirical investigation relating tothe Regulated vocational training adolescents employability of the Province of Granada whose studies be on the verge of finalizing and whose labor expectations are uncertain. But, This youth is prepared to agree to this market?, The form in which the life be planted is facilitated it or is complicated it?, What importance they have the demands of the employers for this collective one? Through our investigation we observe up to what point affects and even what point they are prepared to agree to the labor market and we propose a series of interesting educational and pedagogical applications for the centers of vocational training.
Carpal tunnel syndrome and HIV infection. A case report and literature review
Andrés Reyes-Corcho,Dagnis Barrueta-Reyes,Yadira Bouza-Jimenez,Blas Clemente Jam-Morales
Infectious Disease Reports , 2009, DOI: 10.4081/idr.2009.e2
Abstract: The first clinical case of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) in Cuban HIV-infected patient was described, and the scientific literature indexed in: PUBMED/MEDLINE, LILACS and BIREME were revised. The case presented was a male with HIV infection without preceding opportunistic illnesses, CD4+ T cell count over 200 cells/mm3 and clinical symptoms of pain, tingling and numbness in the right hand and wrist for three months. The electrophysiological study was compatible with CTS. The pharmacological treatment did not modify the symptoms and the patient received specific surgical treatment with absolute resolution of symptoms. CTS is a compressive neuropathy that can occur in HIV-positive individuals with as similar frequency as in the general population. The association between HIV infection and CTS is scarcely described in the medical scientific literature and probably does not represent a different phenomenon from what happens in the HIV-negative population. Nevertheless, its clinical recognition among other neurological and muscle-skeletal manifestations in HIV-infected patients is important.
New standards for new poverties. Ecosystemic strategies and governance of the chain
Carola Clemente
Techne : Journal of Technology for Architecture and Environment , 2012,
Abstract: The impact and duration of the economic crisis we are experiencing is having a profound influence on the extended construction chain, it conditions the productive system, the system of products and services, and the system of demand, that is, the community of users of the built product. Manmade territory is the site of the clash between competing stakeholders and is the location of some of the most critical social, economic and environmental areas. To put an end to the progressive impoverishment of the productive fabric, of the users and managers of housing, it is necessary to rethink the operating standards of the entire chain, otherwise we risk the collapse of the system of building production and the support structures for housing difficulty.
