Abstract: this paper aims to develop heterogeneously narratives of today's latin-american cinema by using concepts such as ?melodrama? and ?melodramatic?; terms that can be found in some films that belong to this part of the world. the essay will try to organize and update the concepts and cultural matrix of the melodramatic concept in three latin american films: ?amores perros? (méxico, 2000), ?whisky? (uruguay, 2004) and ?sábado? (chile, 2002). in some way, these three films can be conceived as three different strategies to describe the modern experience.

Aisthesis , 2009,
Claudio Salinas,Hans Stange

Abstract: San Juan de la Costa County (40o 45' South lat., 73o 19' West long.) is located in the Osorno province, South of Chile. Its population is 11,445. The basic economic activities are agriculture, cattle raising, fishery, timber production and manufacture of wood and coal. According to official reports, the incidence of human hydatidosis in Chile and Osorno province, in 1999, was 1.8 and 12.5 per 100,000 respectively. In order to contribute to a better knowledge of the epidemiology of human hydatidosis, an indirect hemagglutination test (IHAT) and ELISA IgG for hydatidosis were performed to 533 randomized people. Three (0.56%) resulted positive. Parallelly, a socio-epidemiological survey on hydatidosis was carried out: the majority of people had some basic knowledge about some aspects of hydatidosis transmission. Some considerations on the corresponding prophylatic measures are mentioned.

Abstract:

The sludge paper of the industry treated with probiotics in solid state fermentation (SSF) could be used as ingredient in rations for animal feeding. This study assessed the effect of four probiotic (Prozoot15?) levels (PT) on chemical and fermentative characteristics in SSF of the paper sludge (PS) at controlled temperature (30°C) in laboratory scale. The tested treatments (T) were: T1 (0% PS), T2 (50 g/kg PS), T3 (100 g/kg PS) and T4 (150 g/kg PS), which were fermented at 0, 24, 48 and 72 h, according to a completely randomized design, in a 4 × 4 factorial arrangement with six repetitions per sampling. All treatments included (g/kg DM) 300 molasses, 15 urea, 20 ammonium sulfate, 9 calcium carbonate and 5 of vitamin and mineral premix, plus the PS which was substituted by the PT at 0, 50, 100 and 150 g/kg DM. The results showed a decrease in pH in all treatments at 24 h; however the lowest pH was at 72 h of fermentation. At 72 h of fermentation, the PT addition in T4 increased crude protein, true protein and yeast counts (P < 0.05), and decreased pH (P < 0.05). In all fermentation time, the PT addition increased ether extract, lactic acid and ammonia nitrogen (P < 0.05) and decreased dry matter, ash, NDF and ADF (P < 0.05). It was concluded that the addition of 150 g/kg of PT in SSF of paper sludge improves crude and true protein, ether extract, lactic acid, and ammonia. This treatment may have potential use in animal feeding.
