Sato, Luciana Ramos;Oliveira, Claudio;Foresti, Fausto;
Genetics and Molecular Biology , 2004, DOI: 10.1590/S1415-47572004000100008
Abstract: trichomycteridae is a family of small catfish which are widely distributed throughout southern central america and south america. the present study showed that the cis-andean species trichomycterus florensis, trichomycterus sp. aff. trichomycterus itatiyae, trichomycterus reinhardti, trichomycterus davisi and trichomycterus auroguttatus had 2n = 54 chromosomes (42 metacentric, 10 submetacentric and 2 subtelocentric), with t. reinhardti, t. auroguttatus and t. sp. aff. t. itatiyae exhibiting only one chromosome pair with silver-stained nucleolus organizer regions (nors). the cytogenetic data suggest the existence of at least two groups of species in the cis-andean representatives of the genus trichomycterus. in the first group the first metacentric pair is considerably larger than the second metacentric pair and the nors occur in the pericentromeric position of the short arm of a large submetacentric pair while in the second group the first and second metacentric pairs are about the same size and larger than the other metacentric pairs and the nors are located in the pericentromeric position of the long arm of a large metacentric pair. the relative conservatism of the karyotype of the cis-andean trichomycterus species contrasts with the wide diversification observed in the trans-andean species, reinforcing the hypothesis that the genus is not monophyletic.

Abstract: this paper considers the main trends in recent chilean social anthropological production (2000-2006), with reference to the discipline's history in the country. analysis of the contents published by chilean anthropologists during that period allowed for the ability to distinguish and compare their paradigms and audiences, their areas of thematic interest, and their methodological and theoretical frameworks. results show a large thematic dispersion, major paradigmatic inconsistencies and weaknesses in theoretical and methodological designs, without clear tendencies towards the creation of an applied anthropology or outlining a proximate configuration of otherness. the conclusion explores the possibility that such discontinuities might result from university disruptions during the dictatorship, which cut off the discipline at foundational moments.

Gonzalo Alejandre Ramos,Claudio Escobar Cruz
Quantum protocols for transference of proof of zero-knowledge systems
Jose Claudio do Nascimento,Rubens Viana Ramos
Physics , 2007,
Abstract: Zero-knowledge proof system is an important protocol that can be used as a basic block for construction of other more complex cryptographic protocols. An intrinsic characteristic of a zero-knowledge systems is the assumption that is impossible for the verifier to show to a third part that he has interacted with the prover. However, it has been shown that using quantum correlations the impossibility of transferring proofs can be successfully attacked. In this work we show two new protocols for proof transference, being the first one based on teleportation and the second one without using entangled states.
Quantum Zero-Knowledge Protocol Using Quantum Bit Commitment without Quantum Memory

Physics , 2008,
Abstract: Zero-knowledge proof system is an important protocol that can be used as a basic block for construction of other more complex cryptographic protocols. Quantum zero-knowledge protocols have been proposed but, since their implementation requires advanced quantum technology devices, experimental implementation of zero-knowledge protocols have not being reported. In this work, we present a quantum zero-knowledge protocol based on a quantum bit commitment protocol that can be implemented with today technology. Hence, our quantum zero-knowledge protocol can be readily implemented.
Produ??o e caracteriza??o de filmes finos de óxido de zinco intrínsecos e dopados com alumínio e boro
Dias, Claudio André Chagas Martins;Paes Júnior, Herval Ramos;
Matéria (Rio de Janeiro) , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S1517-70762006000300015
Abstract: intrinsic (zno), al-doped (zno:al) and b-doped (zno:b) thin films were deposited by spray-pyrolysis on glass substrates. the influence of parameters such as doping concentration, substrate temperature (ts) and thermal processing under vacuum on the structural, optical and electrical properties of the films, was studied with the purpose to consider their application as transparent conductive oxides. electrical resistivity values of 1.21 x 10-2 and 6.97 x 10-3 w.cm were obtained for zno:al (1 at.% - ts = 550°c) and zno:b (0,5 at.%. - ts = 500°c) heat treated films, respectively, and an optical transmittance of 48%. the value of the figure of merit of these films indicated a light superiority of the zno:b film. in general, the heat treatment decreases the sheet resistance of the films from 3 to 4 orders of magnitude. the energy of optical gap varied from 3,00 to 3,30 ev.
Normotensos com resposta pressórica exagerada ao exercício possuem t?nus vagal cardíaco aumentado
Ramos, Plínio Santos;Araújo, Claudio Gil S.;
Arquivos Brasileiros de Cardiologia , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0066-782X2010005000078
Abstract: background: exaggerated systolic blood pressure (sbp) levels during a maximal cardiopulmonary exercise test (cpet) are classically considered as inappropriate and associated with a higher risk for the development of cardiovascular diseases. it is known that the autonomic nervous system modulates the bp during exercise. however, the behavior of the cardiac vagal tone (cvt) has not been fully established in healthy individuals with an exaggerated bp response to cpet. objective: to analyze the behavior of the cvt in healthy adult males presenting an exaggerated bp response to cpet. methods: of the 2,505 cases evaluated between 2002-2009, 154 cases were thoroughly identified, consisting of healthy male normotensive subjects aged 20-50 years. the evaluation included clinical assessment, anthropometric measurements, 4-second exercise test (cardiac vagal tone) and cardiopulmonary exercise test (cpet) performed in a cycle-ergometer, with bp measurements being taken every minute through auscultation. based on the maximum sbp value obtained at the cpet, the sample was divided in tertiles, comparing cvt, maximum workload and vo2 max. results: the cvt results differed between individuals in the lower tertile and upper tertile for the sbp response to the cpet, respectively: 1.57 ± 0.03 and 1.65 ± 0.04 (mean ± standard error of mean) (p = 0.014). the two tertiles also differed regarding the vo2 max (40.7 ± 1.3 vs 46.4 ± 1.3 ml/kg-1.min-1; p = 0.013) and the maximum workload (206 ± 6.3 vs 275 ± 8.7 watts; p < 0.001). conclusion: an increased bp response during the cpet in healthy adult males is accompanied by indicators of good clinical prognosis, including higher levels of aerobic fitness and cardiac vagal tone.

Abstract: bean (phaseolus vulgaris l.) is one of the most important crop in brazilian agriculture. fungi diseases are among the most restraining production factor. a test was performed aiming to analyze the spraying effect of fungicide based on nozzle type and application volume of a fungicide. the variety carioca ft-bonito was planted in january/2001 on an experimental plot in ponta grossa, state of paraná. the active ingredient azoxystrobin was sprayed using a pressurized costal spray with co2. the treatments were composed by two types of nozzles (fan and empty cone) and by two methods of volume determination (manufacturer's recommendation and leaf area index - lai). the volume for the lai method was defined by the proportionality with the maximum value of the related index, previously obtained in a greenhouse. the incidence productivity and disease severity were evaluated. the experimental design was plots with random blocks. the average values were compared by tukey test while group of average values were compared by scheffé test. the data showed that the treatment with fungicide was necessary for the campos gerais area, in the drought season harvest, mainly for the control of the angular leaf spot disease caused by phaeoisariopsis griseola. different nozzle types showed no differences when using azoxystrobin. the volume sprayed could be calculated on the culture lai basis, with economy of up to 69% of the application cost, in the test conditions.
