Investiga??es em Ensino de Ciências , 2006,
Abstract: This work describes the modeling of a hypermedia learning system (called “Biomec”) that integrates physical, biomechanical and anatomical concepts involved in the human motion and a study carried out with undergraduate students who interacted with the system. The instructional design of the “Biomec” hypermedia system was developed on the basis of a theoretical framework which articulates the Cognitive Flexibility Theory and the interdisciplinary approach to knowledge. The system was evaluated based on its use by students of Biomechanics I and Kinesiology in a Pre Service Teachers Training Course of Physical Education aiming to discuss the following questions: (i) what is its impact on the students’ attitude related to Physics? (ii) in what extent does the hypertextual approach to the content favor the interdisciplinary conception of human motion? (iii) in what extent do the students’ navigation profiles adapt to conceptual needs of the different disciplines of the course? The students answered instruments that assessed affective and cognitive aspects before and after the interaction with the system, and had their navigation registered and analyzed. The set of data obtained allowed to conclude that the “Biomec” system is a relevant instructional material, capable of positively influence the students’ attitude related to Physics, to favor the interdisciplinary approach of human motion and to attend the students enrolled in Biomechanics I better than the students enrolled in Kinesiology.

Abstract: in order to study the epidemiology of salmonella enteritidis outbreaks and determine the source of contamination so that a recurrence can be avoided, detailed characterization is necessary. thus, the purpose of this study was to verify whether rep-pcr was able to discriminate among salmonella enteritidis isolates. phage typing, detection of virulence genes and antimicrobial resistance testing were also associated to rep-pcr results. one hundred and two s. enteritidis isolates from broiler carcasses, food, human, pigs, poultry-related samples, and nine isolates from other countries were genotypically typed by rep-pcr, eric-pcr and box-pcr, collectively called rep-pcr. phage typing, detection of virulence genes and antimicrobial resistance testing were also performed. only three fingerprinting profiles were obtained with each rep-pcr method, with the majority of isolates belonging to the same profile. no relationship was observed between genotypic profile and year, place of isolation or source of infection. however, the less frequent rep-pcr profiles showed single antimicrobial resistance patterns. although few strains isolated from swine were analyzed, different antimicrobial resistance patterns were observed. furthermore, phage type 4 was not found in swine isolates. rep-pcr showed a lower discriminatory power as compared with antimicrobial resistance and phage typing, but the combination of genotypic and phenotypic methods was more discriminatory than any method alone, resulting in 48 different types.

Pesquisa Agropecuária Brasileira , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-204X2008000700015
Abstract: the objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of stocking density and water salinity levels on lophiosilurus alexandri (pacam?) larvae rearing fed with artemia sp. nauplii. three stocking densities were used: 20, 40 and 60 larvae l-1 (d20, d40 and d60, respectively). for each density, three different levels of salinity were tested: freshwater (s0), 2? (s2) and 4? (s4), in a completely randomized design, in a 3x3 factorial scheme, with three replications. the growth, survival, mortality, cannibalism, production and nonionized ammonia levels were evaluated. the nonionized ammonia levels were higher at d40 and d60. at 10 days of feeding, the weight was affected negatively in d40 and d60 associated to higher water salinity (s4). the higher survival was verified in d20s2 treatment, while smaller values were found in s4, regardless of the density used. small mortality rate and no cannibalism were observed. the juvenile final production was also influenced by the evaluated variables. larvae of l. alexandri can be reared, during the first ten days of exogenous feeding, in freshwater or slightly saline water (2?) with higher juvenile production at density d60.

Santos, Cláudio H. dos;Pires, Manoel Carlos de Castro;
Revista de Economia Política , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-31572009000300012
Abstract: this article aims to offer three contributions to the debate on the recent performance of the brazilian economy. first, it presents approximate quarterly figures for the brazilian private investment beginning in 1995. second, it presents estimates of the brazilian "investment function" which are robust to the presence of structural breaks. third, it discusses the sensitivity of private investment to increases in the gross aggregate tax rate. estimates based on national accounting data prior to march 2007 seem to indicate that an increase of 1% of gdp in the tax rate is associated with a reduction of 1% in private investment.

The aim of this study was to analyze the salinity tolerance of “pacam ” Lophiosilurus alexandri larvae at different ages. The test was conducted in post-hatching-larvae and larvae with 8 and 12 daysold post-hatching. Larvae were acclimatized to experimental conditions for 24h, kept in 18 plastic tanks with 1 L at a density of 15 larvae L-1. After this period, larvae were subjected tothe salinities: freshwater, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 g salt L-1, and observed over a period of 96h. Posthatching larvae exhibited complete mortality in 6, 8 and 10 g salt L-1. Survival was 100% infreshwater, 2 and 4 g salt L-1 – although with the decrease in weight and length values to the salinities of 2 and 4 g salt L-1. The CL(I)50-96h of larvae 8 days old post-hatching was 8.9 g saltL-1. The weight was diminished with the increase in salinity, but no difference was registered in length between the different treatments. Larvae 12 days old post-hatching did not show differences in length and weight. The survival was lower in 8 and 10 g of salt L-1.Larvae 8 and 12 days old post-hatching changed their swimming activity behavior to saline water up to 6 g of salt L-1. “Pacam ” larvae showed higher tolerance to the different salinitieswith larval dev

Via Litterae , 2010,
Abstract: Through the investigations of the Discourse semantics, Martin and White (2005) argue that, in some discursive areas, as the academic, particular conventions of composition has a major influence the evaluative styles used by writers. Thus, this study aims to produce an insightful examination of the linguistic choices that show the evaluation and the identity construction of the reviewer in same reviews of the linguistics academic field. These patterns have more or less rigid, responsible for the standardization of scientific texts. To discuss these choices, we can see how the valuation system, confirms and also cooperates also the establishment of discursive practices and social relations through regular discursive-linguistic mechanisms in a genre whose use is highly required in the academy. These mechanisms show continuously the way it is constructed, diluted or stated the position of the text producer, beyond expose the commitment that this producer/reviewer has with what manifests in the review.
