Properties and Application of Nanocrystalline Poly (vinyl chloride)

Abstract: The structure and properties of nanocrystalline PVC were investigated. The crystalline region of nanocrystalline PVC was observed by TEM to be 80 nm. The melting point of nanocrystalline PVC was found to be 128℃ which is obviously lower than typical PVC (210℃). The X-ray diagram indicated that the crystal existed in nanocrystalline PVC. The evident effect of self-plasticizing and reinforcement appeared when nanocrystalline PVC was added. The optimum amount for self-plasticizing is about 10%. The maximal impact strength of 95.1 kJ/m2 was achieved by adding 20% nanocrystalline PVC and tensile strength with 56.2 MPa which was 122% of pure PVC was obtained after adding 5% nanocrystalline PVC.

Abstract: The accurate phase boundary of MgAION/(AIN+MgAION) in MgO-AIN-Al2O3 ternary system, has not been determined precisely so far. In the present study, the lattice parameters of MgAION solid solution with various compositions were determined precisely with X-ray powder diffraction. According to the relationship between the lattice parameters of MgAION solid solution and the contents of AIN and MgO, the phase boundaries of MgAION/(AIN+MgAION) in MgO-AIN-AI2O3 ternary system at 1600℃ and 1700℃ were precisely determined.

Abstract: A new type of hot-rolled transformation induced plasticity (TRIP) steel with 2.3%Al was developed to replace conventional Si-bearing TRIP steel to improve surface quality of the steel sheet. The relationship between retained austenite volume fraction and hot-rolling processing was researched by Gleeble-2000 thermo-dynamic test for the Al-bearing steel. The experimental result showed that aluminum played an important role on retaining austenite and the volume fraction increased from 4.4% to 7.5% as coiling temperature increased from 350℃ to 450℃, while coiling temperature had a stronger effect on retaining austenite than finishing rolling temperature.

Abstract: Solder bridge is a serious defect of solder joints in ultrafine pitch electronic device assemblies. Generation of the solder bridge is closely related to forming process of the solder joints. A three-dimensional model to simulate the formation of the solder bridge of QFP256 (quad flat packaging with 256 leads) is established and numerically calculated to predict the formation shape of the solder joints using surface evolver program. Based on the model, influence of structure of pads printed on circuit board on solder bridging is investigated. The results show that there is a critical solder volume Vc for solder joints to avoid solder bridging, and parameters of the pad size influence the critical solder volume.

Abstract: The continuous cooling transformation (CCT) diagrams of 86CrMoV7 steel samples including hot deformed and not hot deformed were constructed by dilatometry, metallography and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results showed that hot deformation accelerated pearlite transformation and fine pearlite microstructure. Moreover,the undissolved carbides became the nucleating sites of pearlite, accelerated pearlite formation and fine pearlite if the steel had been deformed at high temperature. In contrast, undissolved carbides did not make any influence on pearlite transformation if the steel had not been deformed at high temperature.

Abstract: The advanced hot-rolled transformation induced plasticity (TRIP) steel with high tensile strength of 775 MPa,high elongation of 29% and low ductile-brittle transmission temperature less than -80℃ has been developed in laboratory based on the common silicon and manganese chemical composition. The experimental results showed that the microstructures were featured with ultra fine grain size less than 5μm, appropriate retained austenite volume fraction around 11.8% andpurified ferrite grain, which may result in well balanced mechanical properties for the steel.

Abstract: Evaluation of the suitability for urban land construction is a fundamental work in urban planning, the core of which is to rationally allocate the limited land resource. In this paper, based on the suitability assessment of arable land and developed land, we proposed three programs for the development of Dandong, including the program of priority for economic development, the program of priority for environmental protection, and the program of harmonious development. With the aid of choosing proper indicators, we established the assessment system of landscape ecological quality, composed of landscape stability and landscape disturbance. Through the evaluation of landscape ecological quality under these three programs, we made the optimization among them. The result showed that, under the program of priority for economic development, the city suffered the highest level of landscape disturbance and the lowest landscape stability, which lead to the lowest landscape ecological quality; in addition, under the program of priority for ecological protection, the city acquired the highest landscape stability and moderate landscape disturbance, which caused moderate landscape ecological quality; and under the program of harmonious development, the city got the highest landscape ecological quality with the lowest landscape disturbance and the moderate landscape stability, and therefore, the program of harmonious development should be better selected as the preferred plan for the spatial arrangement of the city.

Abstract: Using the calculation of thermodynamicequilibria in multicomponent systems,two ternaryphase diagrams,Ni-Cr-Mo and Ni-Cr-Co,havebeen calculated by optimizing the Gibbs free ener-gies with respect to phase diagrams andthermodynamic data.On the basis of this calcula-tion,the occurrence of σ-phase in the residual solidsolution of commercial Ni-base superalloys,IN-713C and U-700,has been predicted.The re-sults show that the calculation of phase equilibria issuccessful in the prediction of the occurrence of theσ-phase.
