The complex variable reproducing kernel particle method for two-dimensional elastodynamics

Abstract: On the basis of the reproducing kernel particle method (RKPM), a new meshless method, which is called the complex variable reproducing kernel particle method (CVRKPM), for two-dimensional elastodynamics is presented in this paper. The advantages of the CVRKPM are that the correction function of a two-dimensional problem is formed with one-dimensional basis function when the shape function is obtained. The Galerkin weak form is employed to obtain the discretised system equations, and implicit time integration method, which is the Newmark method, is used for time history analysis. And the penalty method is employed to apply the essential boundary conditions. Then the corresponding formulae of the CVRKPM for two-dimensional elastodynamics are obtained. Three numerical examples of two-dimensional elastodynamics are presented, and the CVRKPM results are compared with the ones of the RKPM and analytical solutions. It is evident that the numerical results of the CVRKPM are in excellent agreement with the analytical solution, and that the CVRKPM has greater precision than the RKPM.

Abstract: In this study, we make use of both the specific method of Monte Carlo simulation and the spot-futures parity with the cost of carry to establish a dynamic price model of Bitcoin futures and to conduct the appraisals and numerical analyses. More specifically, the electricity fees and equipment costs are taken into account and the proposed model is thereby built. Numerical results show that various cost factors have significant effects on the Bitcoin futures price. We employ Monte Carlo simulation to approximate the Bitcoin futures price and we use Python to program the computations.

Abstract: 基于移动最小二乘法在Sobolev空间Wk,p(Ω)中的误差估计以及弹性力学问题的变分弱形式中出现的双线性形式的连续性和强制性,研究了弹性力学问题的无单元Galerkin方法的误差分析以及数值解的误差和影响域半径之间的关系,给出了弹性力学问题的无单元Galerkin方法在Sobolev空间中的误差估计定理,并证明了当节点和形函数满足一定条件时该误差估计是最优阶的.从误差分析中可以看出,数值解的误差与权函数的影响域半径密切相关.最后,通过算例验证了结论的正确性.
The meshless method for solving the inverse heat conduction problem with a source parameter

Abstract: In this paper, the finite point method is used to obtain the solution of a one-d imensional inverse heat conduction problem with a source parameter, and the corr esponding discrete equations are obtained. Compared with the numerical methods b ased on mesh, the finite point method only needs the scattered nodes instead of meshing the domain of the problem. The finite point method is a meshless method in which the moving least-square approximation is used to form the meshless appr oximation functions. And the collocation method is used to discretize the govern ing partial differential equations. The finite point method has the advantages o f simpler numerical procedures, lower computation cost and arbitrary nodes. The result of a numerical example is presented to show the method is effective.

Abstract: 在高维情况下,首先研究了无单元Galerkin方法的形函数构造方法--移动最小二乘法在Sobolev空间Wk,p,(Ω)中的误差估计.然后,在势问题的无单元Galerkin方法的基础上,研究了势问题的通过罚函数法施加本质边界条件的无单元Galerkin方法在Sobolev空间中的误差估计.当节点和形函数满足一定条件时,证明了该误差估计是最优阶的.从误差分析中可以看出,数值解的误差与权函数的影响半径密切相关.最后,通过算例验证了结论的正确性.
Element-free Galerkin (EFG) method for a kind of two-dimensional linear hyperbolic equation

Abstract: The present paper deals with the numerical solution of a two-dimensional linear hyperbolic equation by using the element-free Galerkin (EFG) method which is based on the moving least-square approximation for the test and trial functions. A variational method is used to obtain the discrete equations, and the essential boundary conditions are enforced by the penalty method. Compared with numerical methods based on mesh, the EFG method for hyperbolic problems needs only the scattered nodes instead of meshing the domain of the problem. It neither requires any element connectivity nor suffers much degradation in accuracy when nodal arrangements are very irregular. The effectiveness of the EFG method for two-dimensional hyperbolic problems is investigated by two numerical examples in this paper.
Stochastic systems with cross-correlated Gaussian white noises

Abstract: This paper theoretically investigates three stochastic systems with cross-correlation Gaussian white noises. Both steady state properties of the stochastic nonlinear systems and the nonequilibrium transitions induced by the cross-correlated noises are studied. The stationary solutions of the Fokker-Planck equation for three specific examples are analysed. It is shown explicitly that the cross-correlation of white noises can induce nonequilibrium transitions.
Prevalence of metabolic syndrome and related factors in Taiwanese high-tech industry workers

Abstract: objectives: in light of the increasing number of high-tech industry workers and the differences in their working conditions compared to those of the general population, the health status of these workers merits serious attention. this study aimed to explore the prevalence of metabolic syndrome and its correlates among taiwanese high-tech industry workers. methods: this cross-sectional study included 4,666 workers who participated in labor health examinations at a hospital in southern taiwan in 2008. participants with metabolic syndrome were defined using the criteria proposed by the taiwan national department of health in 2007. factors associated with metabolic syndrome were determined using multiple logistic regression analysis. results: the overall prevalence of metabolic syndrome was 8.2%, and the prevalence was higher in men than in women (14.0% vs. 2.3%, p<0.01). male gender, advanced age, elevated white blood count, and elevated levels of blood biochemistry markers, such as alanine aminotransferase and uric acid, can independently predict metabolic syndrome. conclusions: the prevalence of metabolic syndrome among high-tech industry workers is lower than in the general population. our study's findings may facilitate early health assessments and the provision of proper workplace health promotion programs to reduce the risks faced by high-risk workers.
Reproducing kernel particle boundary element-free method for elasticity

Abstract: By combining the reproducing kernel particle method (RKPM) and boundary integral equation method for elasticity, the reproducing kernel particle boundary element-free (RKP-BEF) method is presented in this paper. Formulae for the RKP-BEF method are derived. The discrete boundary integral equations of the RKP-BEF method are established by considering the numerical integral schemes and the treatment of singular integrals, and the formulae of the displacement and stress of inner points for the RKP-BEF method are given. The RKP-BEF method has a higher precision as the smoothness of the shape function of RKP method is the same as that of the kernel function, and the values of polynomials at interpolating points can be exactly reconstructed. Numerical examples are given for verifying the effectiveness and correctness of the RKP-BEF method presented in this paper.
