An Application-Oriented Network Model for Wireless Sensor Networks  [PDF]

Abstract: Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are energy-constrained networks. The residual energy real-time monitoring (RERM) is very important for WSNs. Moreover, network model is an important foundation of RERM research at personal area network (PAN) level. Because RERM is inherently application-oriented, the network model adopted should also be application-oriented. However, many factors of WSNs applications such as link selected probability and ACK mechanism etc. were neglected by current network models. These factors can introduce obvious influence on throughput of WSNs. Then the energy consumption of nodes will be influenced greatly. So these models cannot characterize many real properties of WSNs, and the result of RERM is not consistent with the real-world situation. In this study, these factors neglected by other researchers are taken into account. Furthermore, an application-oriented general network model (AGNM) for RERM is proposed. Based on the AGNM, the dynamic characteristics of WSNs are simulated. The experimental results show that AGNM can approximately characterize the real situation of WSNs. Therefore, the AGNM provides a good foundation for RERM research.

Abstract:

Along with the advancement of China’s new urbanization, whether the real estate development enterprises can make a contribution to the new urbanization is becoming the key to their healthy and sustainable development. This article analyzes how to select LAT tax planning schemes in the background of the new urbanization; therefore, the real estate development enterprises can achieve a win-win situation with the new urbanization. We hope to provide some help to LAT tax planning work for the real estate development enterprises.

A Short-Term Traffic Flow Forecasting Method Based on a Three-Layer K-Nearest Neighbor Non-Parametric Regression Algorithm  [PDF]

Abstract: Short-term traffic flow is one of the core technologies to realize traffic flow guidance. In this article, in view of the characteristics that the traffic flow changes repeatedly, a short-term traffic flow forecasting method based on a three-layer K-nearest neighbor non-parametric regression algorithm is proposed. Specifically, two screening layers based on shape similarity were introduced in K-nearest neighbor non-parametric regression method, and the forecasting results were output using the weighted averaging on the reciprocal values of the shape similarity distances and the most-similar-point distance adjustment method. According to the experimental results, the proposed algorithm has improved the predictive ability of the traditional K-nearest neighbor non-parametric regression method, and greatly enhanced the accuracy and real-time performance of short-term traffic flow forecasting.

Abstract: The sedative compounds in two traditional Chinese medicines were studied. These compounds are present in the medicinal herbs “Zao Ren” and “Lu Lu Tong”. The samples were first extracted by ethanol and pre-treated by ultrasonic wave, and then they were separated and qualitatively analyzed by high-resolution GC-EI-MS and High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) systems. We have found that the Chinese herb medicines “Zao Ren” contained clonazepam (120 ppm), whereas “Lu Lu Tong” Chinese drug contained estazolam (270 ppm). The Analytical measurements were done by using three different diagnostic indices using the GC-retention time of the GC-EI-MS total –ion–chromatogram; single stage EI-MS analysis identification and from the measurements of the retention time in the HPLC.

Abstract: Conditional distribution reflects the dependency link among random variables, but two-dimensional random variables Conditional Distribution has some limitations. In order to rich the content of conditional distribution this paper gives the extension of conditional distribution under discrete random variables and some examples. This article obtains the extension strictly in accordance with the definition of two-dimensional random variables. So it can get conditional distributions after changing the condition and get conditional distributions that are extended into n-dimensional random variables, thereby enriching the contents of the conditional distribution.

Abstract: Due to real estate and financial industry respectively characterized by strong and weak periodicity, this article aiming to investigate which kind of cyclical industry in the listed companies will Price/Earnings (PE) and Price/Book value (PB) be more suitable for evaluating selects the data of Shenzhen Development Bank (SDB) and Vanke A from Feb. 28 1991 to June 30 2009, uses mean-variance comparison method and analyzes theirs PE and PB. The results are that PE is more suitable for the evaluation of SDB and PB is more suitable for the evaluation of Vanke A. It shows that to some extent PE is more suitable for the evaluation of weak cyclical industry and PB is more suitable for the evaluation of strong cyclical industry.

Abstract: Conditional distribution reflects the dependency link among random variables, but two-dimensional random variables Conditional Distribution has some limitations. In order to rich the content of conditional distribution this paper gives the extension of conditional distribution and examples in the case of continuous random variables. For the given definition of conditional distribution of three-dimensional continuous random variables, it also gives the proof. This article obtains the extension strictly in accordance with the definition of two-dimensional random variables and it uses the theory of conditional probability to get the proof. So it can get conditional distributions after changing the condition to enrich the contents of the conditional distribution.
An Electroweak-like Theory from Four Fermion Interactions

Abstract: An electroweak-like theory of a broken chiral symmetry that is constructed by the collective modes of fermion pairs from four fermion interactions of one lepton generation is presented. The products of Dirac spinors lead to the separation of the two chiral fermions to couple respectively with two different kinds of polarization states. Because of a broken vacuum, a fermion and an anti-fermion out of the four pair up to form vector bosons, which behave like gauge bosons, such as $W^\pm$, $Z$ and $\gamma$ in a group structure of $SU(2)_L\times U(1)_Y$. The pairing of spinors only allows left-handed fermions to interact with charged bosons to secure the gauge invariance, while, as desired, $Z$-like bosons mediate different weak forces for two chiral fermions and $\gamma$-like bosons interact freely with fermions.
A Distributed One-Step Estimator

Abstract: Distributed statistical inference has recently attracted enormous attention. Many existing work focuses on the averaging estimator. We propose a one-step approach to enhance a simple-averaging based distributed estimator. We derive the corresponding asymptotic properties of the newly proposed estimator. We find that the proposed one-step estimator enjoys the same asymptotic properties as the centralized estimator. The proposed one-step approach merely requires one additional round of communication in relative to the averaging estimator; so the extra communication burden is insignificant. In finite sample cases, numerical examples show that the proposed estimator outperforms the simple averaging estimator with a large margin in terms of the mean squared errors. A potential application of the one-step approach is that one can use multiple machines to speed up large scale statistical inference with little compromise in the quality of estimators. The proposed method becomes more valuable when data can only be available at distributed machines with limited communication bandwidth.
