On Building VSAT Backbone Network of SSTCC

Abstract: The National Scientific and Technical lnformation Network (STINet) has reached a certain size after two year development, But the developing speed is reduced due to the over-high telecommunication cost. So the State Science and Technology Committee of China (SSTCC) has decided to set up the VSAT backbone network which will provide STINet with a communication platform to reduce the telecommunication cost and provide a unified transferring platform for other systems and networks of SSTCC. The article introduces and analyses the current situation of STINet, the possibility and the structur of the above project, the VAST network of SSTCC.

Cilostazol suppresses LPS-stimulated maturation of DC2.4 cells through inhibition of NF-κB pathway

Abstract: Cilostazol is a phosphodiesterase-3 inhibitor that functions as a platelet aggregation inhibitor and is used for treating peripheral artery diseases and ischemic stroke. Dendritic cells (DCs) play an active role in the immunological processes related to atherosclerosis. Cilostazol has anti-atherogenic and anti-inflammatory effects, but the effects of cilostazol on DC maturation remain unknown. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of cilostazol on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced maturation of DCs. DC2.4 cells were treated with cilostazol for 12 h and subsequently stimulated with LPS to induce maturation. Cilostazol reduced the expression of maturation-associated markers induced by LPS, such as CD40, CD86, and MHCII, improved the endocytotic function, and decreased production of the tumour necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) of these cells. To further elucidate the mechanisms responsible for the inhibition of DC2.4 maturation by cilostazol, we investigated the effect of cilostazol on LPS-stimulated nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-kappaB) activation. Our results indicated that cilostazol treatment decreased IkappaBalpha degradation and inhibited NF-kappaB p65 translocation, and the inhibitory effects of cilostazol were cAMP-independent. Therefore, inhibition of NF-kappaB by cilostazol might result in the suppression of DC maturation. In conclusion, cilostazol suppressed LPS-stimulated DC maturation, which might contribute to its anti-atherosclerosis effect.

Study on the Camouflaged Target Detection Method Based on 3D Convexity

Abstract: To effectively detect the camouflaged target in the complex background, the target detection method based on 3D convexity is proposed in this article. This method uses a new operator which can fully utilize the representative image gray level represented by the convexity structure of the target, set up appropriate threshold to eliminate the influence of the background noise by the median filtering through the gray face of the target image, and realize the effective detection and identification of the convexity target. The experiment result shows that this method could successively detect the camouflaged targets in the complex background, better than classic edge detection method. As a new camouflaged target detection and evaluation technology, this method can provide necessary factors for the design and implementation of the camouflage technology, and promote the development of the camouflage technology.
Magnetization Dynamics driven by Non-equilibrium Spin-Orbit Coupled Electron Gas

Abstract: The dynamics of magnetization coupled to an electron gas via s-d exchange interaction is investigated by using density matrix technique. Our theory shows that non-equilibrium spin accumulation induces a spin torque and the electron bath leads to a damping of the magnetization. For the two-dimensional magnetization thin film coupled to the electron gas with Rashba spin-orbit coupling, the result for the spin-orbit torques is consistent with the previous semi-classical theory. Our theory predicts a damping of the magnetization, which is absent in the semi-classical theory. The magnitude of the damping due to the electron bath is comparable to the intrinsic Gilbert damping and may be important in describing the magnetization dynamics of the system.
Possible pi-phase shift at interface of two pnictides with antiphase s-wave pairing

Abstract: We examine the nature of Josephson junction between two identical Fe-pnictides with anti-phase s-wave pairing. pi-phase shift is found if the junction barrier is thick and the two Fe-pnictides are oriented in certain directions relative to the interface. Our theory provides a possible explanation for the observed half integer flux quantum transitions in a niobium/polycrystal NdFeAsO loop, and attributes the pi-phase shift to intergrain junctions of Fe-pnictides.
IsoDAR Neutrino Experiment Simulation with Proton and Deuteron Beams

Abstract: In this paper we consider high-intensity source of electron antineutrinos from the production and subsequent decay of 8Li. It opens a wide range of possible searches for beyond standard model physics via studies of the inverse beta decay interaction. In IsoDAR experiments Lithium 8 is a short lived beta emitter producing a high intensity anti-neutrinos, which is very suitable for making several important neutrino experiments. In this paper we used the GEANT4 program. to simulate neutrino production using proton and deuteron beams. We find that the neutrino production rate is about 3 times from deuteron beam than from proton beam in low energy region.
Dynamics of Order Parameter in Photoexcited Peierls Chain

Abstract: The photoexcited dynamics of order parameter in Peierls chain is investigated by using a microscopic quantum theory in the limit where the hot electrons may establish themselves into a quasi-equilibrium state described by an effective temperature. The optical phonon mode responsible for the Peierls instability is coupled to the electron subsystem, and its dynamic equation is derived in terms of the density matrix technique. Recovery dynamics of the order parameter is obtained, which reveals a number of interesting features including the change of oscillation frequency and amplitude at phase transition temperature and the photo-induced switching of order parameter.
