Research on Urban Logistics Infrastructure: An Empirical Study of China  [PDF]
Changbing Jiang, Daqiang Chen
Journal of Service Science and Management (JSSM) , 2009, DOI: 10.4236/jssm.2009.22011
Abstract: Urban Logistics Infrastructure (ULI) is an important area of urban competition capability. The connotation of Urban Logistics Capability (ULC) is analyzed in this paper. Compared with the extensive research on ULC in developed world, empirical work is still rare in China. In this paper the theory of ULC is firstly overviewed. Then a new evaluation index system for ULC evaluation is set up which contains factors that reflect the market supply and demand, economic devel-opment and transportation accessibility. Secondly, an empirical study is carried out by using Hierarchical Cluster Analysis (HCA) and Principal Component Analysis (PCA) method to classify ULC into 3 clusters for 30 cities in Peo-ple's Republic of China. Thirdly, according to the characteristics of the 3 clusters, suggestions are proposed for im-proving their ULI. Finally, after comparing different ULC of 30 cities in People's Republic of China, this paper focuses on that different logistics infrastructure including Hub, Central Distribution Center & Cross Docking Center, Regional Distribution Center or Distribution Center should be build reasonably in order to meet the customer’s requirement in the 3 different cluster cities.
Simulation of a Flexible Manufacturing System with AutoMod Software  [PDF]
Zixia Chen, Changbin Jiang
Intelligent Information Management (IIM) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/iim.2011.35022
Abstract: A flexible manufacturing system (FMS) is a highly automated, complex system. Simulation is a well-proven method to design or analyze an FMS. Deployment of a radio frequency identification (RFID) system in FMS produces large volumes of RFID data streams, which provide valuable information to improve the operation of FMS. Different frameworks are presented in this paper regarding the use of RFID data streams in an FMS simulation. Simulations are performed with AutoMod software. Related technical details are also presented. The paper’s structure is complied as the following steps: step 1, the introduction of AMHS, FMS and AutoMod; step 2, FMS simulation using AutoMod software; step 3, simulation frameworks driven by RFID data streams; step 4, conclusion.
Cluster Analysis Based on Contextual Features Extraction for Conversational Corpus  [PDF]

Journal of Computer and Communications (JCC) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/jcc.2015.35004

Cluster analysis related to computational linguistics seldom concerned with Pragmatics level. Features of corpus on Pragmatics level related to specific situations, including backgrounds, titles and habits. To improve the accuracy of clustering for conversations collected from international students in Tsinghua University, it required contextual features. Here, we collected four-hundred conversations as a corpus and built it to Vector Space Model. With the Oxford-Duden Dictionary and other methods we modified the model and concluded into three groups. We testified our hypothesis through self-organizing map neural network. The result suggested that the modified model had a better outcome.

On birational boundedness of Fano fibrations
Chen Jiang
Mathematics , 2015,
Abstract: We investigate birational boundedness of Fano varieties and Fano fibrations. We establish an inductive step towards birational boundedness of Fano fibrations via conjectures related to boundedness of Fano varieties and Fano fibrations. As corollaries, we provide approaches towards birational boundedness and boundedness of anti-canonical volumes of varieties of $\epsilon$-Fano type. Furthermore, we show birational boundedness of $3$-folds of $\epsilon$-Fano type.
Boundedness of anti-canonical volumes of singular log Fano threefolds

Mathematics , 2014,
Abstract: We prove Weak Borisov--Alexeev--Borisov Conjecture in dimension three which states that the anti-canonical volume of an $\epsilon$-klt log Fano pair of dimension three is bounded from above.
On birational geometry of minimal threefolds with numerically trivial canonical divisors
Chen Jiang
Mathematics , 2015,
Abstract: For a minimal $3$-fold $X$ with $K_X\equiv 0$ and a nef and big Weil divisor $L$ on $X$, we investigate the birational geometry inspired by $L$. We prove that $|mL|$ and $|K_X+mL|$ give birational maps for all $m\geq 17$. The result remains true under weaker assumption that $L$ is big and has no stable base components.
On irregular threefolds and fourfolds with numerically trivial canonical bundle
Chen Jiang
Mathematics , 2015,
Abstract: We prove that for a smooth projective irregular $3$-fold $X$ with $K_X\equiv 0$ and a nef and big divisor $L$ on $X$, $|mL+P|$ gives a birational map for all $m\geq 3$ and all $P\in \text{Pic}^0(X)$. We also use the same method to deal with $4$-folds, and prove that for a smooth projective irregular $4$-fold $X$ with $K_X\equiv 0$ and an ample divisor $L$ on $X$, $|mL+P|$ gives a birational map for all $m\geq 5$ and all $P\in \text{Pic}^0(X)$. These results are also optimal.
Bounding the volumes of singular weak log del Pezzo surfaces
Chen Jiang
Mathematics , 2013, DOI: 10.1142/S0129167X13501103
Abstract: We give an optimal upper bound for the anti-canonical volume of an $\epsilon$-lc weak log del Pezzo surface. Moreover, we consider the relation between the bound of the volume and the Picard number of the minimal resolution of the surface. Furthermore we consider blowing up several points on a Hirzebruch surface in general position and give some examples of smooth weak log del Pezzo surfaces.
On the anti-canonical geometry of $\mathbb{Q}$-Fano 3-folds
Meng Chen,Chen Jiang
Mathematics , 2014,
Abstract: For a $\mathbb{Q}$-Fano 3-fold $X$ on which $K_X$ is a canonical divisor, we investigate the geometry induced from the linear system $|-mK_X|$ in this paper and prove that the anti-$m$-canonical map $\varphi_{-m}$ is birational onto its image for all $m\geq 39$. By a weak $\mathbb{Q}$-Fano 3-fold $X$ we mean a projective one with at worst terminal singularities on which $-K_X$ is $\mathbb{Q}$-Cartier, nef and big. For weak $\mathbb{Q}$-Fano 3-folds, we prove that $\varphi_{-m}$ is birational onto its image for all $m\geq 97$.
The Impact of Global Financial Crisis on Health Status in the Chinese Mainland*  [PDF]

Chinese Studies (ChnStd) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/chnstd.2013.23023
Abstract: Nowadays, globalization increases the integration between countries, leading to the emergence of a global marketplace or a single world market. And, no country or region can develop in self-seclusion. The financial crisis is unprecedented because it comes at a time of radically increased interdependence. What is more, financial turmoil is contagious, moving rapidly from one country to another and spreading very quickly from one economic sector to many others. Since the reform and opening up, China has made remarkable economic achievements. Especially in the economic globalization trend, the financial sector has developed rapidly and its influence on economy is also growing fast. However, along with the rapid development of economy and the outbreak of financial crisis, economic factors play an important role in modern society. Due to the influence of the current global financial and economic crisis, efforts to reach health-related MDGs are confronted with daunting challenges. Public health departments of all countries are faced with increased demand for their services(Liu Zhenmin,2009), the risk of lower services quality, contraction of financial resources as well as a higher risk of a “brain drain” of health professionals. Hence, this paper aims to analyze the impact of the global recession on the health of people in the Chinese mainland and sum up a series of measures to ensure the steady growth of national economy and safeguard the social harmony and stability.
