Numerical Simulation of River Water Pollution using Grey Differential Model

Abstract: Based on the grey theory, grey characters of river environment system are analyzed, the velocity and dispersion coefficient and attenuation in river are considered as uncertainty parameters and expressed as gray parameters. A grey differential equation of contaminant diffusion in river is built. And the equation has special structure. The truncation error of finite differential method in solving the model is corrected. According to the model, distribution values of pollutant concentration under sudden pollutant discharged can be obtained directly, which can provide abundant and useful water quality information for the plan and control of water pollution. It is shown that the calculated results obtained from the gray model are reliable and reasonable.

Mainly, we present that one can use a test map, which need not to be in G, to examine the discreteness of G, and also show that G is discrete, if every two-loxodromic-generator subgroup of G is discrete.

Abstract:

With the increase of wind power capacity in China, the situation of curtailment of wind power is getting worse. An annual sequence production simulation model is established with maximum wind power consumption as the objective function. The calculation of specific power grid operation in 2013 verifies the precision of this model. The impact of different factors on wind power accommodation as well as the impact of power grid reserve, wind resources and load on wind power curtailment is analyzed. The calculation results quantify the impact of different factors from power system to the accommodation of wind power and provide reference to solving the problem of wind power curtailment.

Study on Optimizing Nutrition and Fermentation Conditions for Compound Bacillus spp.  [PDF]

Abstract: In order to improve the spore yield of compound Bacillus spp. (B. amyloliquefaciens, B. laterosporus and B. megaterium), the effects of nutrient conditions including carbon source, nitrogen source, mineral salt and fermentation conditions including the inoculum age, inoculation amount, loading volume of liquid and initial pH on the spore yield were studied. The results indicated that the optimized medium was glucoses 20 g/L, soybean meal 30.0 g/L, K2HPO4 1.0 g/L; fermentation temperature is 37, the inoculum age 12 h, initial pH 7.0, 2% inoculation amount, loading volume of liquid 20 mL/250 mL. Under the optimized conditions of culture medium and fermentation for compound Bacillus spp., spore yield was 10.24 times more than the initial medium, and the spore formation rate reached more than 90%.

Abstract: The research on relationship between rhizosphere microbes and root exudates has a great significance on discussion of interaction between rhizosphere microbes and plants, as well as control of soil-borne diseases and insect pest. GC-MS was used to analyze changes of tobacco root exudates under the antagonistic action of tobacco bacterial wilt and black shank. It turned out that when pathogens of tobacco bacterial wilt and black shank in tobacco root microorganisms increase, tobacco root exudates augmented rapidly among of which organic acids have the biggest growth, followed by amines. When the pathogens of tobacco bacterial wilt and black shank are inhibited by the active substance of antagonistic antibacterial, 20 - 23 kinds of root exudates are added; besides, the content of 7 substances was reduced to 0. Another inter-esting finding was that the fluctuations of phthalic acid, isophthalic acid and benzoic acid, which have caused continuous cropping obstacles, were very dis-tinct. The results of this study have provided novel clues for the exploration of continuous tobacco cropping obstacles and soil-borne diseases.
Temperature Prediction for High Pressure High Temperature Condensate Gas Flow Through Chokes

Abstract: This study developed a theoretical model for predicting the downstream temperatures of high pressure high temperature condensate gas flowing through chokes. The model is composed of three parts: the iso-enthalpy choke model derived from continuity equation and energy conservation equation; the liquid-vapor equilibrium model based on the SRK equation of state (EoS); and the enthalpy model based on the Lee-Kesler EoS. Pseudocritical properties of mixtures, which are obtained by mixing rules, are very important in the enthalpy model, so the Lee-Kesler, Plocker-Knapp, Wong-Sandler and Prausnitz-Gunn mixing rules were all researched, and the combination mixing rules with satisfactory accuracy for high pressure high temperature condensate gases were proposed. The temperature prediction model is valid for both the critical and subcritical flows through different kinds of choke valves. The applications show the model is reliable for predicting the downstream temperatures of condensate gases with upstream pressures up to 85.54 MPa and temperatures up to 93.23 °C. The average absolute errors between the measured and calculated temperatures are expected for less than 2 °C by using the model.
Research of Heated Oil Pipeline Shutdown and Restart Process Based on VB and MATLAB

Abstract: During the operation of a heated oil transportation pipeline, the shutdown was caused by some pipeline accidents and repairing. In order to ensure the safety operation of the pipeline, determine the temperature drop and restart pressure was needed at different shutdown is important. This paper builds the heated oil pipeline temperature drop model after shutdown based on the unsteady heat transfer theory and restart model based on fluid transient flow theory. In order to solve the models, MATLAB is adopted a code for the models solving program. VB and MATLAB hybrid programming method which is on the basis of COM technical is utilized to develop a friendly man-machine interface for the heated oil pipeline shutdown and restart simulation software. The practical application shows using of VB and MATLAB hybrid programming method can reduce the work of algorithm developing and enhance the reliability of heated oil pipeline shutdown and restart simulation software.
Constraining the Lattice Fluid Dark Energy from SNe Ia, BAO and OHD

Abstract: Sanchez and Lacombe have ever developed a lattice fluid theory based on a well-defined statistical mechanical model. Taking the lattice fluid as a candidate of dark energy, we investigate the cosmic evolution of this fluid. Using the combined observational data of Type Ia Supernova (SNe Ia), Baryon Acoustic Oscillations (BAO) and Observational Hubble Data (OHD), we find the best fit value of the parameter in the model, $A = -0.3_{-0.1}^{+0.1}$. Then the cosmological implications of the model are presented.
