Nova tripanozomiaze humana: estudos sobre a morfolojia e o ciclo evolutivo do Schizotrypanum cruzi n. gen., n. sp., ajente etiolojico de nova entidade morbida do homem
Chagas, Carlos;
Memórias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz , 1909, DOI: 10.1590/S0074-02761909000200008

Chagas, Leonardo;Baumann, Renato;
Economia Aplicada , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S1413-80502007000100005
Abstract: the reduction of transaction costs is one of the most cited benefits of a currency union. this paper aims to calculate the amount of transaction costs that could be saved by the brazilian economy after the adoption of a single currency in mercosur. the results point to savings, in present value terms, of around five billion and five hundred thousand us dollars. these are the transaction costs that the real sector would not transfer anymore to the financial sector.
Chagas, Gisele Fonseca;
História (S?o Paulo) , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-90742012000100009
Abstract: this article aims to explore, ethnographically, ideas and types of muslim masculinities constructed from the relationship between master and disciple in sufism, one of mystic current of islam. the issues raised here can be best understood as having an initial character, exploratory, they will be analyzed first from the viewpoint of "masculinity", here taken as a fluid category, which has a history and that is contextually constructed. it is expected to contribute to the debate on the issue, aware that the following analysis requires more discussion and elaboration. to this end, ethnographic data analyzed here are the result of fourteen months of fieldwork from 2009 to 2010 in damascus, syria, along with the members of kuftariyya, an important local sufi network.
Arte e política: o quadro normativo e a sua revers?o
Chagas, Pedro Dolabela;
Kriterion: Revista de Filosofia , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-512X2005000200019
Abstract: this essay focuses the relations between art and politics in their mutual autonomy, which is seen as an epistemological condition for the study of that relation. we'll analyze how the ontological particularities of art (in what refers to its production, reception, and complex interweaving of its semantic and sensorial aspects) can give rise to politically charged events, and also how those particularities can be conciliated with political criticism without being aggressed and deformed by it. we'll argue that deleuze and guattari's philosophy serves this purpose well; nevertheless, to make their importance clear, this essay will be almost totally dedicated to exposing the conceptual features whose long life in the philosophical tradition has made the reflection about art and politics become frequently normative (which can be seen in the tutorial position that the philosopher assumes towards the receptor of art, and also quite often in the understanding that is given to the term "art"). we expect that the contrast between the rigor of these features, and the flexibility they acquire in the works of deleuze e guattari will show the possibility of a way out of the normative field.
Chagas Junior, Carlos;
Memórias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz , 1936, DOI: 10.1590/S0074-02761936000400007
Chagas, A. W.;
Memórias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz , 1940, DOI: 10.1590/S0074-02761940000200005
Population parameters of the endangered titi monkey, Callicebus coimbrai Kobayashi and Langguth, 1999, in the fragmented landscape of southern Sergipe, Brazil
Chagas, RRD.;Ferrari, SF.;
Brazilian Journal of Biology , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S1519-69842011000400001
Abstract: the recently-discovered titi, callicebus coimbrai, is endemic to the coastal brazilian atlantic forest south of the s?o francisco river, a region with a long tradition of deforestation. while a number of c. coimbrai populations have now been identified, little is known about basic population parameters. considering the importance of this information for conservation planning, the population of a site in southern sergipe (with a total area of forest of approximately 500 ha) was surveyed between april and october 2008. standard line transect procedures were used in the four largest fragments, and additional monitoring included the use of playback broadcasts for the observation of titi groups. the presence of titis was confirmed in all the forest fragments at the site, including one of only five hectares. two other primates - callithrix jacchus and cebus xanthosternos - were also recorded at the site, but were less abundant than titis. a total transect walk of 476 km provided 164 sightings of primates, the majority of which (104) were of callicebus coimbrai. titi groups ranged in size between two and five individuals. the most reliable estimate of overall population density, derived from the combined data set, was 12.6 individuals per km2;, although density was much higher in smaller (more disturbed) fragments. the total population of callicebus coimbrai at the site was estimated to be at least 50 individuals, which may represent a considerable proportion of the population of the species remaining in the wild. in addition to its apparent tolerance of habitat fragmentation, densities of c. coimbrai recorded at the site compare favourably with those of other atlantic forest titi species.
