Por uma pedagogia da pesquisa educacional e da forma??o de professores na universidade
Catani, Denice;
Educar em Revista , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-40602010000200006
Abstract: the paper analyses and discusses aspects and possibilities to teacher education in universities. it shows ideas about the constitution of a pedagogy of research and a pedagogy of teacher education. therefore, it uses the notion of habitus by p. bourdieu and it introduces two perspectives on how to educate: the culture of caring as a perspective to be done in teacher's education and the didactic style as dispositions and brands of pedagogic action built by teachers. by connecting these three aspects to the appreciation and the constitution of teacher education stories and stories of relations with the knowledge and work new guidelines start to be considered by licenciature and pedagogy courses.
Higher-Order QCD Corrections in Hadron Collisions: Soft-Gluon Resummation and Exponentiation
Stefano Catani
Physics , 1996, DOI: 10.1016/S0920-5632(97)00024-8
Abstract: I briefly review some recent results on soft-gluon resummation and present applications to heavy-quark and jet production in hadron collisions.
Soft-Gluon Resummation: a Short Review
Stefano Catani
Physics , 1997,
Abstract: I briefly summarize some general features of soft-gluon contribution to inclusive cross-sections. The discussion includes the issue of soft-gluon singularities in infrared- and collinear-safe observables. All-order resummation and the ensuing varieties of QCD predictions are illustrated.
$k_{\perp}$-Factorization and Perturbative Invariants at Small $x$
Stefano Catani
Physics , 1996,
Abstract: I review the basic idea of $k_{\perp}$-factorization and its relation to collinear factorization. Theoretical results in resummed perturbation theory are summarized and the example of the heavy-flavour structure functions is explicitly considered. Using these results one can investigate the small-$x$ behaviour of quantities that are independent of the non-perturbative parton densities. In particular, one can introduce physical anomalous dimensions that relate the scaling violations in different hadronic observables.
Comment on Quarks and Gluons at Small $x$ and the Sdis Factorization Scheme
Stefano Catani
Physics , 1995,
Abstract: I present some comments on the partonic interpretation of the HERA data on the proton structure function. The effects of the resummation of the leading and next-to-leading $\ln x$-contributions are discussed. A new factorization scheme, in which these resummation effects are absorbed into a steep redefinition of the gluon density, is introduced and its (possible) interpretation and phenomenological relevance are suggested.
Quarks and Gluons at Small $x$ and Scaling Violation of $F_2$
Stefano Catani
Physics , 1995,
Abstract: I present some comments on the relationship between the small-$x$ behaviour of the parton (quark and gluon) densities and the scaling violation of the proton structure function $F_{2}(x,Q^{2})$.
Physical Anomalous Dimensions at Small $x$
Stefano Catani
Physics , 1996, DOI: 10.1007/s002880050512
Abstract: I present a theoretical discussion of the uncertainties related to the QCD analysis of the proton structure function $F_2(x,Q^2)$ at small $x$. The role played by the `unphysical' gluon density is pointed out. It is shown how the study of more observables can reduce the theoretical uncertainty and, in particular, an alternative method of analysis, based on the introduction of physical anomalous dimensions, is suggested.
Jet Physics at LEP and SLC
Stefano Catani
Physics , 1994,
Abstract: Experimental results on jet physics at LEP and SLC are reviewed and compared with perturbative QCD predictions. The discussion includes determinations of the strong coupling $\as$, measurements of event shape distributions and jet cross sections, studies of subjet multiplicities and tests of QCD coherence.
Low-x Structure Functions
Stefano Catani
Physics , 1994,
Abstract: QCD predictions on the low-$x$ behaviour of the structure functions are reviewed and compared with the recent measurements of $F_2(x,Q^2)$ at HERA. The present theoretical accuracy of these predictions is discussed.
QCD at high energies
Stefano Catani
Physics , 1997,
Abstract: The following topics in perturbative QCD are reviewed: recent theoretical progress in higher-order calculations; soft-gluon resummation for hard-scattering processes at large $E_T$ and high $x$; low-$x$ behaviour of structure functions and recent theoretical results on BFKL dynamics; infrared renormalons and power corrections to perturbative predictions; updated summary of $\as$ measurements.
